Our family had a great time at this Locke Mountain Townhome for Thanksgiving 2013. Upon arrival, we found everything we could ask for, from trail maps to hair dryers to high-end furniture and dishes, all in excellent condition. Every couch had nice throw blankets and pillows, and the wood floors sported plush area rugs. It was tempting to just sit in the rocking chairs by the fire.
We arrived after dark and at first had trouble finding the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. It's actually a very short walk across the street if you exit the back door and turn right, but take a flashlight and watch your step. Once you use the access card (just hold it next to the lock) to get in the gate, head through the door on your right, and make sure one of the saunas is turned on; it can heat up while you are changing and using the pool. For us, splashing about in the 92 degree pool during snow flurries was especially fun and memorable.
The trail that runs right next to the parking area for this condo is Wildfire. Since it wasn't yet open during our November stay, we did have to drive back and forth to the lodge. The early-season skiing was quite good, with over 30 open trails, and then the family enjoyed lounging in the condo each day playing board games in stocking feet while sipping hot chocolate. We hope to return to this Happy Place in the future.
