Wake up in a spacious and fully equipped two bedroom garden ( 950 sq ft.) suite in the above ground basement of a heritage house in Vancouver's Little Italy.

Supplied with dark roast coffee, tea, coco and a few comfort supplies. Decorated with elegance and comfort in mind, ceilings are high in this well maintained suite stocked with all the amenities you’ll need for your visit.

The two large queen bedrooms have comfy beds and fluffy duvets and pillows with nice linens. Enjoy spacious living, dining area and open plan kitchen that is fully equipped to create a delicious meal.

Enjoy your stay in this clean, comfortable, and fully equipped garden level suite. Note that in order to secure our short term rental license we removed the full range and replaced it with a cooktop. There is also an oven for toasting, baking and pizzas.

Direct access through the garden by keypad to the common entrance, and the private entrance to the guest suite through a common area waiting for you. Enjoy the English inspired garden retreat.

Steps away from great cafes, convenience shops, transit connections, restaurants, micro breweries, shopping, and nightlife. 10 min from downtown, short drive to hiking trails & sandy beaches, the PNE and fairgrounds, plenty of free street parking.

Our character house is located in quiet, tree-lined residential neighbourhood that links directly to downtown, beaches and the mountain slopes.

5 Blocks to the famous Commerical Drive, an area known in Vancouver as Little Italy. You can walk to the city’s best gelato, Italian cafes, shops and a diverse selection of great restaurants, cafes, bakeries. We have wonderful cafes and a 7/11 for all the basic needs just blocks away.

Getting around
Ample, free street parking, with some permit spots to avoid - Happy to help with that!
5 block walk to Commercial Drive.
Public transit is access is steps away, linking to city- spanning Sky train.
10 min drive to downtown core.

We maintain a clean and welcoming suite with hosting and cleaning practices in place since our opening at the beginning of COVID-19:

✔ All of our rooms get thoroughly disinfected using disinfectant.
✔ Cleaning with bleach and similar products to disinfect all bathrooms and kitchens
✔ Use a germicidal disinfectant for the following high-touch surfaces: door and window handles, cabinet and drawer handle, TV remotes, and all light switches.

Maximum FOUR guests. If you bring more we will know as we live on the main floor and are aware of guests.

The comfort and safety of our guests are always a priority for us and we will continue to monitor the situation and ensure to make any modifications to our precautions as needed.

Good location, good communication from Jollean, although not quite as shown as photos. There is no stove as shown, only a small portable burner, and limited cooking facilities. There is a funky odour due to being in the basement. We could also hear the noise from upstairs, kids and a dog running around. In saying this, it suited us as we were out for most of the day and was ok for the price we paid.

The location of the suite is good. The state of the suite is also decent. The interaction with the host not so much.The main issue arose on the day we checked out.I used the bathroom sink in the morning and noticed that the water was pooling in the sink and not draining. I noticed that the sink stopper was depressed. I tried pushing the lever but the sink stopper wouldn’t budge.I looked under the sink to see if I could lift the lever from underneath the sink but I could not access the mechanism. So I lifted the sink stopper with my finger nails and the water drained. As the host had told me the previous day that she had back to back meetings on our check out day I did not talk to her about this (in my view) minor issue. Well, when we arrived home she had messaged me about how she had to get a plumber who had to use a wrench and how the plumber said I had to have used excessive force to break the mechanism.I’m pretty sure it’s not something out of the ordinary that sink stopper mechanisms eventually fail. I believe it’s called normal wear and tear and if you rent out a place you will have to take into account that these things happen.Of course the host is now saying that she will charge me the cost of the plumber etc. etc. She wants to make me pay for the upkeep of her unit. Not sure how this will go yet.I cannot recommend this suite due to the nature of the host.

A bit disappointing

Location is convenient, easy to reach lots of restaurants. Space is great. However, the place is down in the basement, so it’s pretty humid. The towels and clothes never dried. There are so sort of mold in the closet, the bed frame is filthy, and the bedding is not clean. My daughter got bug bites, so did I. There is no stove but a portable burner on top of a stand along stand. No body soap, no kitchen towels. It didn’t match the pictures we saw on the website.

A little pretrip before a seven day cruise to Alaska. The space was perfect, very cozy, excellent location and plenty of things to do and see. Our host Jollean, was extremely helpful and gave us a recommendation of her favorite coffee shop, it was fantastic! We will definitely be coming back to explore more of Vancouver and the surrounding area.

Ladies Weekend

Jollean was a great hostess. Bit of an issue with the entry door not locking properly but she fixed it immediately. Only other thing is to be mindful you're in a basement suite so you do hear upstairs noise. Location was safe for us walking and getting where we needed to go. Thank you Jollean for hosting us!

Mixed review

This is not an elegant suite by any means! It's a basement suite, comfortable enough for sure, in a great area, and we were busy visiting friends, so it suited us fine but elegant it is not. It's basically a basement suite under a family home, and we could hear the woman upstairs loud and clear one day complaining of pot smell, how "totally unacceptable it is, it must be the guests", etc all the while I am trying to have a much needed nap, failed. Yes, I smoke cannabis for my cancer, it works wonders and gives me quality of life. I only smoke outside, there were no signs or messages saying please smoke off the property (it was pouring rain but I would have complied), so yes it smells. The fact that I could hear her yelling about it made me feel really uncomfortable, like I was intruding. It's not only legal but far better than smelling must, mold and the upstairs cooking food, plus it's Vancouver! The furnace and fridge are also very loud. It was freezing cold our first night, we found a portable heater but had to keep moving it to heat both bedrooms and living room. The second night was warmer. There are only 2 windows in the entire suite as well, only one in the main kitchen/dining/living room area and it's tinted grey so on a typical Vancouver day, it felt dismal down there. If it wasn't for the yelling and the misinformation about elegance, I'd leave a better review. Also a small yappy dog was around but that's a minor issue for me.
