Magnolia Overlook was the perfect location for my daughter’s wedding. The staff they have to help with preparations was professional and easy to work with. Their service was above and beyond my expectations. Location was breath taking. I would highly recommend this venue. Everything was immaculate, spotless, and beautifully decorated.

The host had so much information about the property and was very responsive. We had very little issues planning a family reunion for 40 people. The property was clean, beautiful and had plenty of options available for the entire family.

We had our wedding here and I can’t fit all of the positive things I want to say here! The property was clean, well stocked, well labeled, organized, and just gorgeous. So many activities, so many peaceful nights, all with great views. We worked primarily with Destinie and she made our wedding the wedding of our dreams. Always available for communication, clarifying, and checking in. Could not ask for a better weekend for my now husband and I! Already planning our next trip back!

Stunning venue for our wedding, everything we could think of was waiting for us upon our arrival, and our guests were stunned at the venue and rooms. We ended up using all the amenities; the pool, the kayaks, and all the living space. We will definietly be back for our anniversary!

I can’t even express how much wonderful everything was at this venue. It exceeded our expectations for our entire weekend of wedding fun. From camp games to flower arrangement classes the group enjoyed every inch of the property. Between the pools and hot tubs there was even some time to relax prior to the big event. What you described is EXACTLY the intent of what The Lord wanted for this property when C hit us so hard: A niche property where you can do all these things onsite with friends and loved ones, eliminating stress (mostly) and being with the people you adore most for days, not hours. I LOVE your pics you shared with real life happening yet flower arrangments everywhere awaiting the "Big Day". So glad you chose Magnolia Overlook and experienced it in the way it was intended. HO-LY COW!! We are a family of planners, detailed oriented, with a dash of OCD...lol This House Was Something We Didn't Know Existed. One of our family members has a vacation rental and they were taking notes. What a fantastic time. Highly recommend!!! The owners/team at this place reserve an award!

We absolutely loved this property. It was everything we were looking for and more. We’ve stayed at many vacation rentals and this blew every single one of them out of the water. We had everything we needed and the property was very clean and well kept. The hosts were super responsive and amazing! Our whole family loved it and have already talked about going back soon!

Great Church Retreat!

We rented the Magnolia compound for our Youth Camp and it was a tremendous experience. Dave and Ann have incredible properties for large groups, and they have everything you need to host any type of retreat.

It was so heart warming to see all of those young people (and y'all of course) having fun, laughing, cheering, singing on the property God led us to develop for all sorts of different groups. We would host you any time and welcome you back. Blessings!! For those reading this, we stay in one of the small houses in the mini resort under construction on the other side of the property. Just in case you wonder about privacy. PLENTY! They just went down to the water and beach a lot which is visible. Anyway, yes we have a lot of retreats, corporate team building, family reunions and we have hosted entire teams. Baseball, softball, lacrosse and rock climbing, amongst others.

Everything, from checkin to check out, was perfect. Entertainment for ALL ages. The pictures were for the site don’t do justice to the beauty of the home and view. We can’t wait to come again.

For those checking us out and maybe wondering why we came into contact: We do not bother our guests but the pool and playground areas are neighborhood amenities and we are still doing construction so we "bumped into" each other many times during their week long stay but gave them their space. We definitely do not intrude or bother our guests but we are onsite of the 20 acre community so we are able to give excellence service quickly when needed. . Just want you to know. :-) Thanks!

My extended family (20 adults, 10 kids, 1 dog) visited this property in August 2026. We were able to check in a few hours early, giving us time to unpack, hit the grocery store, and have dinner by 6pm. Dave, the host, met us on arrival and answered our questions, and he and his team stayed easy to reach by text throughout our stay.The property lives up to the photos and then some. The private pool was a highlight — bigger than it looks in the listing, with a gradual 3ft–5ft–3ft depth and a 6" deep bubble pad. The covered back porch was perfect for escaping the sun, and the kids loved movie nights out there. The private lake area and boat dock were another big win: we rented a pontoon for tubing and fished from both the dock and boat. Younger kids loved the sandy beach area and s'mores at the fire pit. The game room was a big hit during the few rainy hours we encountered. We cooked every meal on-site, and the kitchen was well stocked for a group our size. Most bedrooms had private bathrooms and we did a little room juggling to keep each family together — everyone ended up comfortable. The outdoor bathroom and the second one off the main living room got a lot of use.One tip: rent the golf cart. The walk from the house to the lake is long and the property sits on a hill. We used the cart constantly to shuttle people and gear.If you're looking for a lake property that can comfortably host a big, multi-generational group, this is it. We'd absolutely stay here again.

Family Reunion

My family and I really enjoyed out stay at Magnolia House. The house and property are just beautiful! We had everything we needed, and all the spaces were very clean! There were plenty of places to sleep and lots of room to relax and visit with each other. We plan to make this our annual gathering place.

Wonderful vacation!

Amazing stay, amazing location! We thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion and the house met our every expectation. Lots of things to do - swimming, kayaking, hot tubs, volleyball, outdoor chess, playground, trampoline, ping pong and on and on. Everything we possibly needed for cooking large meals we found in the kitchen! The owner is outstanding to work with and made our stay so enjoyable. Probably the best VRBO we've ever stayed in!

Lovely clean getaway in Alabama

The kitchen was well stocked and the house was clean and neat. We enjoyed our stay and the hosts were very helpful! It was a little tight with our group of 51 since it was cool outside but it worked out fine. It would be really nice to come when it is warmer outside! Plenty of outdoor seating, a playground for the children etc.

Hi Brendan and thanks so much for taking time to do a review! I am so glad you mentioned that 51 of you was tight as we have listened to that GREAT feedback and are doing two things to alleviate. First is we are getting four long tables and redesigning the interior dining space and ALSO we have dried in the outdoor living areas and are in the process of ordering motorized roll-up walls to keep the cold out. We are also getting heaters and a brick fireplace on that outdoor living areas. We are SO excited that we will have those done by the time it even gets a little chilly. Family Getaway

Dave and Ann provided an amazing and beautiful home that suited the needs of our large family perfectly. Our group was a gathering of families with children of all ages. The home is spectacular with amazing views and the entire property is perfect for those looking to have a cozy stay for a large gathering. I cannot give a higher recommendation!

The Magnolia House has been the perfect venue for the annual women’s retreat for our church. The women absolutely love all of the beautiful spaces and as David and Ann have added to the property it continues to allow us opportunity to grow in number. They are wonderful hosts and always so attentive to us.

This was our second year to stay here. Everyone comments on the beautiful house, perfect location and accommodations available. We all want to return again next year. Owners are great with communication. We LOVE Magnolia House.

Wedding

This location was outstanding. Owners have thought of everything and left no stone unturned. There was never a need that had not already been satisfied. Wedding planner was outstanding and worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly.

Wedding Weekend

We had all of our bridal party stay with us for the weekend to celebrate our wedding, and there was more than enough space for everyone! They have great spaces for activists and for wedding getting ready. The hosts and employees are phenomenal! They did everything to make sure the property was set up just how we wanted!
