Welcome to the Reef - Destin Gulfgate 1005!

Welcome to the Reef! Our professionally redecorated gulf front condo features granite counters, stainless appliances, and tile flooring. The view from the 11th floor enables you to see eastward down the beach to Sandestin, as well as down the western beach view with gorgeous sunsets! Access the balcony from either the living room or the master bedroom. While enjoying your morning coffee, look for the dolphins feeding in the waters below. The condo décor brings the sea inside, with a hand painted screen in the dining room lit by a gorgeous coral chandelier, as well as sea life prints throughout. Both bathrooms feature a shower and bathtub, enabling you to rinse off or soak, or bathe the little ones. Each bath offers a private toilet/bath area, enabling multiple users when you come in off the beach. Use the wet bar equipped with icemaker to enjoy a frozen margarita while relaxing on the 30’ balcony. The spacious guest room features two queen beds, and the new large sectional sleeper sofa offers additional sleeping room. There are flat screen TVs with DVDs in the living room and both bedrooms, as well as ceiling fans, and a fully equipped kitchen. No smoking. Enjoy free beach service March 1st through the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Monthly reservations do not receive complimentary beach set-ups.). Come relax and enjoy the Reef!

Wonderful Stay in a Breathtaking Place

Reviewer Comments: I had a wonderful stay at this condo — the space was beautiful, spotless, and the views were truly breathtaking. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in Destin.I do want to gently share one part of my experience. While the complex staff were always polite, there were moments when I felt a bit unseen unless I initiated the interaction. And this pertained to one employee in particular, a lady w/ brown hair. As an African American woman, it’s a feeling I’ve encountered before, and it was present here at times. I’m sharing this with care — not as a criticism of the condo, but simply as an honest reflection of how the environment felt to me. There was another staff member I interacted w/ often, I believe her name is Lisa, and she was friendly including a maintence guy who serviced my room my first day there to adjust the water heater temp. Overall, the condo itself was exceptional, and I’m truly grateful for my stay

We’ve stayed here many times and always come back. It’s just a couple doors down from the Back Porch and the water is always super clear and the beach is never crowded.

Thanksgiving getaway

Wonderful experience from the moment we arrived to the day of departure. The onsite staff was super, especially Kirsten at the front desk. The unit was very clean, kitchen fully equipped and the view was stunning from the balcony. If i could suggest one thing, update the sofa. Looking forward to returning very soon.

We have stayed in Ft Walton, Miramar, and Destin and Gulfgate was our favorite by far! Located was great, beach wasn’t as crowed, no rain or seaweed all week, our balcony was soooo huge and view was amazing, condo was beautiful with all up to date colors and decor, staff was very attentive and nice, absolutely no complaints! 4 Days at the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If we go back to Destin again, which we plan to do, we will stay at at Unit 1005 at Gulfgate if possible. WE thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were even entertained by aircraft from Eglin or other area military bases. We have a fly by of 2 Apache helicopters perhaps 100 yards off the beach, below our room level. Several jet fighters and transports flew by, following the beach, not quite as close as the helicopters. Even had a P-51 Mustang zip by.

Beautiful, very clean, but..

This property is absolutely beautiful and VERY clean. Everything was as described but there is a lot of traffic and tourists attractions across the street so the noise inside the condo was a bit too much for me. Every night there were cars and/or motorcycles revving their engines for long periods of time which made it hard to sleep in the room facing the front of the building. That’s literally the only complaint I have. The view of the ocean is amazing and both bathrooms were recently remodeled.

The beach unit was gorgeous and one of our all time favorite rentals as it offered an amazing beach view, perfect location and open floor space. We caught it during Maintenance and upgrades and during a cold front which impacted our beach/pool and activities of our stay and yet we still had a wonderful time and hated to leave. Can’t wait to go back during warmer weather conditions.

Convenient location

Convenient to restaurants and shopping. Beach was beautiful and chair service was great. Our boys loved the heated pool. It was perfect for little ones. The location is a bit noisy though.

The check in staff were awesome, the room looked exactly like the pictures, and the view was amazing. My husband typically prefers to stay on lower level floors but he asked that I book the same room for next year's vacation. It was very warming as our home away from home. The complimentary happy hour was also a plus!
