Mid Century Modern architecture by famed Barry Berkus as featured on the Modernism 2020, 2022 & 2024 tours and published in Melissa and Jim Riche’s Mod Mirage: The Mid Century Architecture of Rancho Mirage book. Nestled against the mountains surrounding Magnesia Falls Cove, yet walking distance to dining, shopping and entertainment. Lush gardens surround this 2 bedroom 2 bath unit, fully renovated with modern conveniences, yet retaining its Midcentury charm. Furnished with a mix of Mid Century and modern pieces. The kitchen features high end appliances and is fully stocked for your cooking adventures. There are 2 furnished outdoor patios, one off the dining area with BBQ and another off the Master Bedroom and Kitchen to fully enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The roomy master bedroom includes a king bed, 40” Roku TV, bathroom as well as a small work station. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, and also includes a work area. Wireless high speed internet available throughout the unit - great for your Flexcation. A nice comfy sectional offers a place to read, relax and watch your favorite shows. Unwind by the pool and Jacuzzi under unimaginably tall swaying palm trees.

Had a great stay!

The accommodation was clean and was very well stocked with cookware and small appliances. There were lots of towels and even house coats. We found the location to be very good! Close to hiking, shopping, and dining. Annette was lovely to deal with.

Great Place

Very clean, recently updated throughout and nice extras. Convenient location, lots of places to eat nearby and about a 15-20 minute drive to Palm Springs. Annette was a great communicator and helped to make our stay even more enjoyable. Quiet complex too! Highly recommend!

Mid-Century Marvellous

My 3 month stay at Chalet Palms was delightful. The super comfortable unit is recently renovated and has everything you need for a short or long stay. The pool and hot tub are lovely surrounded by gorgeous palms, trees, and flowering shrubs. Most times there was no one else using it. It’s a great central location handy to shops and restaurants. Everything was perfect!

Very nice condo unit.

The unit was spacious with great quality appliances. The lady who did a light cleaning once a month was very good and did a fine job. The pool could have been cleaned more regularly as there was often debris at the bottom. My hosts were excellent. When there was an issue with the TV and I called they responded quickly to help resolve the problem.

We have reached out to the HOA and discovered that the gardeners had changed days to come after the pool maintenance which was leaving debris in the pool. Mid Century Getaway

We stayed at Mid Century Modern at Chalet Palms for an entire month. It served us well as both a remote workplace and vacation home. Clearly Dave and Annette spared no expense in ensuring this home has everything you need to be comfortable while staying true to the mid century vibe. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves most days, which was a real treat. The serenity and views of the vibrant flowering vegetation surrounding the pool made it very inviting. We had a brief issue with noise from an adjoining neighbor, but Annette was quick to resolve the issue. There was ambient noise from the neighbors, but the community quieted down by bedtime. Our biggest challenge, given the length of our stay was the laundry facilities. The washer and dryer is outside the unit in a common area shared by all tenants. Each load is a minimum of $3.50 and you definitely need more time to dry heavier items such as towels. We ended up hand washing many of our items given the expense of washing smaller loads. The parking is tight, but manageable. Something to note, though, if you drive a larger vehicle. Realizing beds are a preference item, we learned that memory foam mattresses do not work well with our bodies. We mention this as a courtesy to other potential visitors as it is an item that influences our decision when seeking accommodations. Overall, nice stay and we appreciate Dave and Annette welcoming us to their home.

We thank you and your mom for staying with us, Amber. You were wonderful guests, and we really appreciate the care you took with the Chalet. We value your comments about the laundry. We do disclose in our description that the facility is shared with the community and the cost is commensurate to the area. We also supply plenty of extra towels and linens, and a drying rack which works very fast in the dry desert air. And, though the parking spot is not oversized, we do park our full size pick-up truck there regularly. There is also a vast amount of street parking available right in front of the parking spot. We understand that bed types are very personal, so we did a lot of research on which types were most popular amongst travelers. We actually have one memory foam bed, and the other is a standard mattress with a removable memory foam topper. Your feedback is appreciated, and we hope you will stay with us again when you are visiting the area.

From the moment I stepped into the patio on the way to the front door of this condo, I knew I was in the right place. I appreciated the attention to detail in this totally updated unit with upscale appliances and appreciated the gas bbq on the 2nd patio. The owners responded to my questions promptly. And what a great location! 5 minutes to El Paseo, the huge indoor mall and Whole Foods. The pool was always clean and quiet, as was the hot tub.

Rancho Mirage

It's hard to know when you rent a vacation home what to expect exactly. There is such a wide range of approaches from owners but, at this rental, there is a great level of care and attention to detail. Everything is updated, the kitchen is well-stocked with high quality appliances and cooking gadgets, it is beautifully decorated, has a lovely pool/hot tub and a friendly community. The location is also great and provides ample access to hiking trails as well as nearby stores and retail. The owners are also very responsive and attentive to any needs that may come up. It was ideal for a long term stay. Highly recommended.

We are both Southern California natives and grew up visiting the Palm Springs area. We met in a local cycling club and have been married for over 30 years. We have shared many adventures during that time including raising our 2 sons, now grown. We still love to cycle, both on the road and in the mountains. We also enjoy travel, cooking, gardening, reading and hiking.

The Chalet Palms is our newest adventure. We are both enthusiasts of Mid Century architecture and furnishings. A friend told us about the availability of the Chalet Palms unit. We drove out to Rancho Mirage, saw the unit, fell in love and were the owners within 24 hours. We are so happy to be included in this special community of fellow MCM enthusiasts. We were especially thrilled to be included in the 2020, 2022 and 2024 Modernism Tours. And for the community to be highlighted in Melissa and Jim Riche's book, Mod Mirage, which reveals in photos and stories the historic homes and communities of Rancho Mirage that make up its significant midcentury heritage.
