Gut: Sauberkeit und Lage
Hi, we checked in last night around 10:10 PM and wanted to share a few concerns about our experience.First, we were not aware that there is no direct/easy access to the entrance. We are traveling with our elderly parents, and reaching the property required going down approximately 25 steep steps without a handrail or proper support. We also had to carry all of our luggage down these stairs, which was quite difficult and inconvenient, especially arriving late at night.I strongly recommend that this access situation be clearly mentioned in the property description so that families traveling with elderly guests, young children, or anyone with mobility concerns are aware of it before booking.Second, the AC shut off because the door had been left open. We later realized that this was mentioned in the check-in instructions. However, there were quite a lot of instructions to review at once, and after arriving around 10:30 PM, we unfortunately missed this particular detail. When we couldn't figure out why the AC was not working, we sent several messages and also called but did not receive a response. Having no response at that time made the situation more difficult.Lastly, the property was listed to accommodate six people. While there is a sofa bed available, we could not find the bedding/linens needed to prepare it for sleeping, which was another inconvenience after arriving late at night.Overall, I would especially request that the steep stair access and lack of a handrai

Wow Rakesh! So you admit you did not read the listing, nor the messages you received, but then you sink my rating? That's not nice Rakesh. You sent your messages about the AC at 22:30. Do you expect a host to be available 24 hours? I advise you to stay at a hotel, as all hotel chains have the same hotels and same rooms, do not need any directions and have a receptionist 24 hours.

Perfect Lakeside Retreat

Everything was perfectly appointed. Pierre greeted us when we arrived. Everything was clean and well set up. The kitchen has excellent knives and cookware. The bathroom has plenty of toiletries and fresh towels. The patio is perfect for sitting in the afternoon and watching the birds sing. The cats on the property are friendly. I was able to use the outdoor spaces with complete privacy. I would definitely recommend and plan on staying myself again if the occasion presents itself.

Exterior unsafe

The facilities were great , but the stairs didn’t have any hand rails and the stairs were narrow with a steep drop-off and being visually impaired it wasn’t safe at night . There were no guard rails anywhere around my he facilities so I didn’t find it safe for children
Aufenthalt von 14 Nächten im Juli 2025
Antwort von VrboOwner am 13. Aug. 2025
The stairs are mentioned on the listing. They are not considered stairs by building code, because of the soft slope, large steps and large landings along the steps. The stairs were inspected by the city. There are pictures of the stairs on the listing. If you do not thoroughly read the listing of the place you book, then that is entirely your fault and responsibility James.

Outstanding view!

Wow! I am so impressed with this view, it is outstanding! The view of the lake with the mountains behind it is awesome and I love that the property is on a hill. Also the view on the mountains to the right is amazing to see the sunset. Plus the place was spotless, everything was totally new and felt very contemporary. I loved the porch with the firepit and the grill, plus the hammocks! And the host was very kind and quickly accessible for any help or questions I had. It was a great experience! The view really is spectacular and seeing the winding roads from the top of the hill, looks like a scene out of a movie in Italy. If you need a place to stay by this lake, this is it! It's awesome! Another benefit was the huge windows allowed you to see the amazing view constantly, as well as from the bedroom you can see the lake and mountains. Great experience, SO glad I booked this place!

Very rude host

Upon arrival we were chastised by the owner for not being able to find the property. He was very rude and even offered me a reward for “being the 1st people to get lost” even though his instructions explain all the ways people get lost. Then he was very rude to my wife because she is afraid of heights and my dais in a wheelchair. She was nervous about taking my daughter down very dangerous steps with no handicap access. (Not in the description) I told him that my son may com visit and he said no visitors (not in the description) then told me he will be watching in the cameras to see if we have visitors (creepy) this made my family very uncomfortable and we decided that it’s best to leave and he requested 100$ to cancel it was worth it because I can’t have my family in a place where the host is so disrespectful. Not to mention the thought of him watching us through his camera is completely out of line and creepy.

The cameras are only on the driveway on the other side of the house 2 floors up. You did not follow the instructions on how to get to the house and did not fully read the listing that clearly mentions the stairs. The stairs do not need a railing as they are not considered stairs by building code because of the soft slope, large steps and many landings on the way down. It is impossible to please everyone.

Amazing view and lots of peace and privacy

I liked meeting the owner upon arrival, even thou this is not the norm in our touchless society, I do like meeting an owner when I am actually staying in a home that is attached, connected, or part of the main home like this unit is. The house is wonderfully set up so that the lower level is dedicated to quests with 2 ample bedrooms, living with desk, kitchenette with huge table and well equipped bathroom, we loved the rain shower. The owner was very kind and explained some the intricacies of staying in the home which there are some as you are tucked into a hill side and each home has it's individual issues & characteristics. But once he showed us the unit, He never came into our private space which is completely shielded from the upper level. We did visit each day as we came and went from the upper drive and Kobbe was sweet to make suggestions of things to see and do. We loved the resident kitties who would come visit me every other day. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the King room is more suited for a couple and the queen room has a bit better view but the views are 180 degrees in the front. I really enjoyed eating and reading outside. The weather was perfect in late April early May and we never needed to turn on the AC. We slept with the windows open. The home has really cool exterior roll down covers that allow you to leave the windows open with the screens and also give you privacy while allowing the cool night air in.

Hi, I'm Kobbe.

I was born in Flanders but moved to the U.S. in 2006 and became a U.S. citizen in 2016. I have dual nationality.

I lived in Wentzville MO till 2012 and then bought this house here in Lake Elsinore in 2012.

I was a DJ/producer of Electronic Dance Music, mainly techno, tech house and tribal house, until 2008.

My main passion and hobby is riding dirt bikes. There are easily 1000 square miles of dirt trails and 250 miles of single track on the other side of the Interstate 15, all accessible from my driveway. I ride a 2024 Beta 300 RR and a 2026 Stark Varg EX
I am picky when it comes to accepting bookings, and prefer quality bookings over quantity.

First came some bad experiences, then came tighter rules, not the other way around.

If you respect my home and the house rules, I will bend backwards to make your stay a pleasant and memorable one, as you can read from the guest reviews.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Lake Elsinore is a laid-back beautiful location with a gorgeous lake and stunning mountains. There are plenty of hiking trails close by. During most of the year, the water of the lake is warm and pleasant to swim in. All year round, people enjoy kayaking, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, fishing and boating. Lake Elsinore has a magnificent bowling alley, a movie theatre, restaurants and shops. It is 1 hour from Los Angeles, 1 hour from San Diego, 1 hour from Palm Springs, 45 minutes from the beach and 1 hour from the high desert.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig

No other VRBO location offers this view, anywhere in Lake Elsinore. This location is modern, ridiculously clean, new and comfortable, and the view is unmatched. It comes with an amazing patio with launch chairs, hammocks and a BBQ.
