Picket Fence Cottage is a 3 bedroom, 1 &1/2 bath home within walking distance of MTSU and the historic downtown square, a PRIME location! This charming 1927 cottage is sure to please when you see the welcoming front porch and white picket fence. Come inside and enjoy the beautiful restoration, highlighted by the original hardwood floors, gorgeous crown moldings and glass doorknobs.

This home has been fully restored, which includes new paint, plumbing, tankless hot water heater, lighting, Wi-Fi, granite countertops, and stainless-steel appliances, while keeping the historic charm of its 1927 heritage.

As you enter the front door you will find the living room outfitted with a high quality leather recliner and sofa. Watch your favorite show on the 55" flat screen smart TV. Enjoy “live” TV through our subscription to Hulu and many other Apps with your own personal log in.

The dining room boasts a sparkling new chandelier that adds ambiance to a romantic meal or special gathering. The antique furniture includes a lovely dining table with comfortable seating for 6 . . . a place where memories are made!

The renovated kitchen is complete with an adorable breakfast nook and coffee bar! Dan loves to cook and has outfitted the kitchen with all the necessary items needed to create your culinary delights. The cottage has an under counter water filtration system for the kitchen.

All 3 bedrooms have queen beds, with memory foam mattresses. 2 of the bedrooms have Roku smart TV's and all 3 bedrooms have phone chargers at the bedside and room darkening curtains.

*PLEASE NOTE: The middle bedroom is a “walk-through” bedroom. The back bedroom has a separate entrance from the courtyard.

The main bath has a tiled tub/shower combo. A brand new tankless hot water system has been installed so that you will never run out of hot water while taking a shower!

But wait . . . that is not all! Out back, the cottage hides a charming secret garden, that is so private and serene you will never want to leave. It is enclosed by a fence and canopy of trees. On cool evenings, grill out and enjoy time with family and friends under the stars!

Great communication with the owners! Very thoughtful cinnamon buns when we arrived! The house is comfortable, very nicely decorated, but also kid friendly with nice cozy touches. Would definitely recommend.

The Picket Fence Cottage was incredibly clean. The entire property from the beautiful interior, furnishings, yard, etc., were in immaculate condition. Some rental properties feel like rentals. Not this one. The furniture was pristine and the entire house was amazing. The backyard was private and prpvided a tranquil setting to spend time with family. The location provided easy access to downtown Murfreesboro as well as Nashville.

We came to Murfreesboro for a weekend convention and were blessed to find this charming home conveniently located near downtown, with shops and restaurants nearby. The home was clean and comfortable, and incredibly charming with all the amenities one could need. The hosts were always available and quick to provide any information we needed on the town, restaurants, etc.. We had no complaints and would definitelystay again.

Amazing Stay!!

Rebecca’s home was an excellent home base for exploring middle TN. We had originally planned to stay in Nashville during our road trip, but found that Murfreesboro had a lot to offer and allowed for a day trip into Nashville. We enjoyed being so close to the town square (great shopping but be aware shops close at 6pm) and the Stones River battlefield.The house had everything we needed and everything we didn’t know we wanted — including a lovely garden where we enjoyed our breakfast. Little touches like blackout curtains and a Keurig machine with an assortment of coffee and creamers enhanced our stay. We found the binder to be very helpful when choosing a restaurant.And let’s not forget the cinnamon rolls upon our arrival.Stop reading and book your stay. You won’t regret it.

Welcoming home in great location

We stayed here while in town for our sons' high school baseball tournament. The location was conveniently located to the playing fields, restaurants, and shopping. The home has everything you need, is very clean, and beautifully decorated with a welcoming atmosphere. Our first night in town, there were some severe storms and tornado warnings in the area. Rebecca was very kind to keep us updated with weather advisories and directions for safe shelter in the event of a tornado. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Lovely, comfortable home

We cannot say enough positive things about this location. The home is absolutely charming, full of character
 and also clean, updated, safe, and has everything you may need on hand. You know those movies where the city girl goes off to live in a charming home in the country? Well, THIS is that home, complete with wooden floors, glass doorknobs, tall ceilings, and beautiful moldings. The hosts are kind, welcoming, attentive to detail, and available. The most charming cottage!!

The property was clean and exactly as pictured! The cottage had so much character and was so beautiful! We felt right at home, being greeted with a sweet card and goodies left by the host! Rebecca was great to work with, recommending all of the best places to go around Murfreesboro. We experienced some tornado watches during our stay, and Rebecca was quick to get in touch with us before we even thought about reaching out! She made sure we stayed safe if bad weather were to come in our direction. Would recommend to anyone!! A wonderful weekend spent with friends!

Perfect home away from home!

Rebecca and Dan are amazing hosts. We loved staying in the picket fence cabin. The cinnamon rolls were the best surprise and highlight of the stay for my boys. We will be sure to stay there again the next time we visit family!

Beautiful little place

Everything about this home from beginning to end was wonderful. The communication with the owners was phenomenal. Rebecca was very kind and helpful. The home was nice and clean and set up exactly how One would need it. It has that old school charm, which is something we were looking forward to. There were so many places to have breakfast, a good cup of coffee, lunch & dinner within just a few minutes. Several of them are just within walking distance as well. We were able to visit Nashville as it was only about 45 minutes away
 and then come back to this charming little house. We would definitely love to come back.

The property was incredible. The pictures are deceiving the property is much larger than it appears in the photos. Loved the little charm. It was perfect for our family of 5 my kids are 9, 12, and 18. The area was nice - we went on quite a few walks and explored the neighborhood. Would stay again!

Perfect Picket Fence Cottage

Absolutely the most comfortable and welcoming home. We stayed for four days and didn’t want to leave. We were there for Thanksgiving, our hostess thought of all the little things we would need which made our stay incredibly enjoyable. We will be back 10 out of 10!

Family Wedding Weekend

We loved our stay at the Pickett Fence Cottage. The pictures do not do the home justice. Wonderful historic and comfortable home. We stayed in the house with our young kids and parents for the weekend. The Haynes made sure we had everything we needed and then some. Rebecca goes above and beyond with the hospitality and provides all kinds of good ideas for activities. Highly recommend staying at this property!

Dan and I have called Murfreesboro home for 25 years. We raised our 3 sons here and all of them graduated from MTSU, so we are fans! We have always loved the charming vibe of our historic downtown square and have dreamed of owning a cottage in this area. When this one came open in May of 2020, we jumped at the opportunity! We both have the gift of hospitality and thrive on creating memorable experiences for others. It is our hope this historic cottage will provide many special times for friends and families!
