As featured in the Sydney Morning Herald `Traveller` and built with locally grown and processed hemp, this luxury holiday home is a first for Tasmania.

Set over two levels with a central timber staircase, my guests experience truly unique and quiet accommodation, showcasing this incredibly versatile plant.

Sleep on premium hemp linen; use hemp bathroom products; sample hemp food and enjoy hemp spirits on the deck overlooking the D`Entrecasteaux Channel. Pets welcome + EV charger available.

Set over two stunning levels, `Sativa House` offers an open-plan kitchen/living room on the ground level, while upstairs there are two private, partitioned queen bedrooms. The beautiful bathroom offers a walk-in shower, toilet, and vanity and includes a laundry alcove with a combination washer/dryer. The deck has outdoor furniture and a barbecue. An EV Charger is located next to the parking bay for guest convenience.

Guests can access the entire hempcrete home.

Alonnah is a quiet coastal hamlet located on the southern part of Bruny Island. `Sativa House` is an easy five minute walk down to Alonnah Beach and the jetty, via Sheepwash Track. Take a short 1km drive to Hotel Bruny for delicious dine in/takeaway food and alcohol, while the closest general store is at Adventure Bay (15 minute drive back towards the ferry) for coffee, takeaway food, daily newspapers, grocery items and most other things.

Bruny Island is solely accessed via the Sealink Ferry service departing from Kettering Tasmania. You will need a car to transport yourself around the island as there is no public transport available. There is single off street vehicle parking available at `Sativa House`.

While children are welcome, please be aware of the room/bedding configuration, and note that the internal staircase does not have safety gates.

Both queen beds are located upstairs and the bathroom and toilet is on ground level. These areas are accessible by a timber staircase, and this may not suit guests who need to use the facilities through the night, or who have mobility issues.

For groups larger than two guests, please note that while the bedrooms are completely visually private with lockable sliding doors, they ARE NOT completely soundproofed as the walls have an open slatted timber section at the top, and DO NOT have light-blocking black-out blinds.

If you have a larger group with a guest who requires the sofa bed in the lounge, note that this is a floor-level pull-out futon style best suited to younger visitors.
Dogs not allowed on couches or beds. Bring your own pet bedding, bowls and food. Please use the dust buster and mop in laundry for hair removal and accidents. Our property is not fully fenced and there is a LOT of wildlife at dusk and dawn, so dogs must be kept on leash when outside. All poo must be picked up.
