Private Cottage by the Lake with Wrap-Around Deck

Newly updated with fresh designer paint (Farrow & Ball), 50” Amazon Fire TV, genuine leather sectional, and contemporary furnishings and decor.

This charming cottage is nestled on several acres among old-growth cedars and majestic maple trees. The privacy aspect makes you feel as though you are removed from civilization, yet it is located just minutes away from every convenience. The house has a wrap-around deck, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing. The property has a shared sports court for pickleball, basketball, and more. Lake Samish is just across Friday Creek Road.

Public lake access can be found 100 yards north of the house on Friday Creek Road. A double kayak is available for your use (stored down by the dock, paddles in the bathroom closet). We have also added two stand-up paddleboards and a youth kayak to the patio (Summer months only). Feel free to take these down to the lake access point and please return to the porch after each use.

This two-bedroom, one-bath home also offers a sleeping loft with 3 twin beds, perfect for children 5 and over. For infants and toddlers, we have a Pack-n-Play portable crib stored in the closet. The large bedroom has a king-size Sleep Number bed. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and access to the sleeping loft. Both bedrooms have French doors that open to the wrap-around deck.

The living area is fashioned in the "great room" style with a comfortable sitting area, an equipped kitchen, and a dining table with seating for up to 7 people. Direct access to the deck makes for easy barbecuing and outdoor entertaining. The house is equipped with a 50" television and high-speed internet for anyone feeling the need to stay connected.

There is a friendly neighborhood cat "Scout". Please do not let him in the house. Not only for those with allergies, but we need to keep the property pristine. Additionally, it can be difficult to get him out!

Lovely cabin in the woods

We loved our stay! We were in town for a family reunion close by and this couldn’t have fit the bill more. It’s close to Bellingham and right off Lake Samish. They have toys for the lake and for the sport court on the property! Will definitely stay here again :)

This is a cute little cottage tucked away among the landscaping and trees making it feel remote and private. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. The huge deck outside is really nice to sit and enjoy a cocktail in the evening. Loved the loft with the extra beds, but wouldn't recommend those stairs for young children. It's a small house, but the design makes it feel big. Located across the street from the lake (no view of the lake however) with lake access a short walk down the road.

Woodland Retreat By the Lake

We loved this little cabin, especially the pickle ball court (shared with rental next door) and the closeness the Bellingham and local lakes. We used the paddle boards and kayak available and enjoyed chilling in the cabin too.

Cabin in the cedars

Private cabin surrounded by cedars and steps away from the lake. Spacious great room with a cozy electric fireplace. Two big decks to enjoy the outdoors. My friend is recovering from surgery and this was a wonderful place to relax, cook, and just hang out. It would be even better in summer as two paddle boards and a small kayak are provided.

Lovely Family Reunion Stay

Our UK based family stayed at this property with other family staying at the lakeside house across the street. This made for a perfect reunion location with local family providing access to the lake and pickleball amenities. The owners were extremely responsive and accommodating to our needs. We will certainly consider this location in the future if we gather again in the Bellingham area.

Perfect home for a Bellingham Getaway!

We stayed here for a week as we moved our daughter into the dorms at WWU. It was just a short 15 min drive to the campus. The home had everything we needed & more. The decor is very nice & comfortable. We all even watched a movie one night & just felt at home. Also the master bed is amazing… Very comfortable! We hope to stay here again on a future visit!

Cabin for the skiers and nonskiers

We needed a cozy place that could act as base camp for family members skiing at Mount Baker, and a nice place to hang out for the non-skiers. The cottage is well-stocked, has amazing grounds, and is a short hop to farms around Bow Edison and Chuckanut drive. Great spot!

Perfect Winter Cottage

The cottage was just perfect! The house had everything we needed to prepare large meals for my group of 7. The house was absolutely adorable inside and had great heating for the 7 degree temperatures this weekend. The heated bathroom floors were a huge plus! The owners were very kind and helpful as well. Great Bellingham Adventure Basecamp

This is the perfect place for your family or friends to use as a home base for outdoor adventures in the Bellingham area. You’re 10-15 minutes from world renowned mountain bike trails in Galbraith, Chuckanut, and Sudden Valley. If hiking is your thing you’ve got that too! If water sports are what you’re into, you’re in luck! It was great to have a garage to secure your bikes/outdoor gear in, and the home was spacious and comfortable. Relaxing by the fire pit after adventuring all day was wonderful. If you want to just relax, the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. Heated floors in the bathroom were luxurious. Our one regret was we never used the tennis court! We would definitely book here again!

Best vacation ever

This property is a gem. Its the perfect balance of tranquility and fun. We made good use of the sports court, paddle board, and kayak. The kids loved the loft. The house is well supplied with everything we need, and it so clean and updated. The hosts gave a quick check in message to make sure we had everything we needed. This shot to the top of the list of our favorite vacation rentals.

Cottage Winter Wonderland

This cottage was a great place to spend a few nights. We even got snow one night! It was so fun! It met all our needs and then some. The property was beautiful and private, the house was cozy and warm, and the overall stay was exactly what we needed! The owners were great and checked in with us to make sure our needs were met and check in/check out was a breeze! Definitely going to keep this place in mind when we’re back in the area again in the future!

Great getaway destination - next to a peaceful lake

The cabin was pretty great…very comfortable and cozy on the inside. The outdoor sports court was a huge hit with our boys and we enjoyed many fun hours of basketball. The only detractor that I would note is that the patio chairs and seating are not usable in their current state, they need a solid pressure washing as there is a layer of winter moss on them. Outside of this, we had a great time and we would stay again.

Slice of Heaven

We found an oasis within an oasis when we stayed at the cottage, and simply didn’t want to leave. Surrounded on all sides by trees and greenery, the landscaping sets off a wonderland of nature. We had wanted to be by a lake where we could paddle board and kayak, and in addition were able to use the pickleball court that was a part of the property each evening. Mornings were spent drinking coffee on the wraparound deck, and some yoga with a mat that was at the cottage. The cottage itself was beautiful, full of windows and space that made it seem like we were still outdoors. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked, and we made many of our meals there which were again spent on the deck while we listened to birds. Our hosts were always responsive and helped walk us through things that cropped up. We appreciated their quick communication. We loved it so much that we have already re-booked for the next summer when we are back up in Bellingham.
