Welcome to Salt and Sand Retreat — a warm, relaxed family getaway nestled in the peaceful seaside town of Venus Bay. Surrounded by rustic country charm and just a short drive from the beach, this cozy holiday home is an ideal spot for families, friends, and anyone craving a simple, down-to-earth coastal escape.

Our single-level home sleeps up to eight guests and offers three comfortable bedrooms, each styled with an easy, beachy feel. Doonas and pillows are provided, and you can either bring your own linen or make use of our convenient local linen-hire service. There is a fold out couch in the living room to accomodate for two guests, so the property can sleep 8 in total.

Two clean, well-maintained bathrooms make it easy for everyone to get ready after a day of exploring. We’re also pet-friendly, so your four-legged family member can enjoy the open outdoor space too.

The retreat is equipped with everything you need for a laid-back stay. Keep cool in summer with air conditioning or warm up on cooler nights with the heating. Fire up the BBQ for relaxed backyard dinners, or cook in the fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and fridge. In the evenings, unwind with a DVD, stream your favourite shows using the free Wi-Fi, or simply enjoy the peaceful country atmosphere. Free onsite parking makes coming and going hassle-free.

For outdoor lovers, Venus Bay has plenty to offer. Take a quick drive to the beautiful beaches where you can swim, surf, fish, or simply relax on the soft sand. The area is home to a handful of scenic walking tracks, perfect for morning strolls, wildlife spotting, or watching the sunset over the dunes. Nearby Anderson Inlet is a favourite for kayaking, paddle-boarding, and family-friendly wading on calm days.

Nature enthusiasts will love the abundance of local wildlife — from kangaroos grazing at dusk to stunning birdlife throughout the wetlands. You can wander through the Venus Bay Conservation Reserve, explore quiet bush tracks, or take the kids on a fun adventure through the local rock pools at low tide.

For a change of pace, enjoy a coffee or takeaway meal from the local shops, try your luck at fishing off the beach, or spend the afternoon beachcombing for shells. Whether you're chasing outdoor adventure, peaceful nature time, or slow, sandy-toed afternoons, Venus Bay makes it wonderfully easy to unwind and explore at your own pace.

Things to Note:

There is no airconditioning in the bedrooms. There is a split system in the living room, but the bedroom air conditioners do not work.

Blankets, pillows, and doonas are supplied. Guests need to bring their own linen (sheets, towels, tea towels, pillowcases, and bathmat). Linen hire is available on request - contact us for details.
