Our Chapel Street Treasure
Our Chapel Street Treasure is an Art Deco 2 bedroom ground floor apartment, only metres to Carlisle Street. Rich in old world charm that complements the hip and happening vitality of St Kilda, Our Chapel Street Treasure has the right groove to immerse yourself in the culture. Beautifully spacious, we have a gorgeous living and dining room with modular couch and 4-seater glass dining table, a sunny vintage kitchen/laundry and a north facing courtyard to enjoy.
Our Chapel Street Treasure is in Dovenby Court, a sweet early 1930s solid brick Art Deco apartment building with its own north facing courtyard. The double door entry is secluded behind the palm trees and staircase to the upper apartments. There are polished floorboards throughout, double doors open to a charming living and dining room with modular couch, nest of coffee tables, smart TV, air conditioning and 4 seater dining table with wicker style chairs. The main bedroom has a queen size bed, a freestanding wardrobe, a panel heater and portable fan. The second bedroom has two single beds with freestanding robes and a portable fan. The sun filled subway tiled kitchen is modernised with Chiq washer/dryer, Beko dishwasher, Chef stove and Chiq fridge/freezer, and opens onto a north facing courtyard with a private entrance. The classic bathroom has a shower over the original bath, mirrored cabinet, vanity and toilet.
Guests have access to the whole ground floor apartment except the locked cupboards in the hallway. There is a north facing courtyard for outdoor enjoyment. Please note this is an apartment block with other residents, so it would be appreciated to maintain quiet enjoyment for all.
Between Carlisle Street and Brighton Road on Chapel Street, Our Chapel Street Treasure is within walking distance to almost everything St Kilda. There’s bagels, vegetarian curries, fine dining, croissants, sushi, tacos, Thai and Latin American – and that’s just on nearby Carlisle Street. You could try Attica in Glen Eira Road, the glorious cakes on Acland Street or find some retro icons on Fitzroy Street. If you’re hankering for any type of cuisine, you can be sure St Kilda will have it. St Kilda is renowned for its beautiful beaches, Luna Park, the Palais Theatre, The Espy Hotel and penguins at St Kilda Pier. You’ll enjoy beachfront dining at Donovans, Riviera Beach Club, Beachcomber Café and Beach Bar, Republica and the Stokehouse. St Kilda has an amazing festival in February each year, celebrating summer, First People and the community. It always has over 100 artists plus street performers, family entertainment, market stalls and more. There are so many places to see live music, comedy or theatre in St Kilda including the Palais Theatre, the National Theatre, the Esplanade Hotel, Captain Baxter, Dog’s Bar, Memo Music, Republica, Saint Evie, St Hotel, St Kilda Sea Baths, The George (the Snakepit), the Fifth Province (Irish bar), the Prince Bandroom and The Prince of Wales. The St Kilda Marina is the place to land if you’re interested in skydiving. If you want something to do for the kids, discover the St Kilda Adventure Playground – a supervised playground off Neptune Street which is open at certain times of the day by the local council offering child’s play with a difference. Take them to see the penguins at the pier, or take them to see one of your old school favourite films at The Astor Cinema in classic Art Deco cinema glamour. The St Kilda Library and Historical Society is around the corner in Carlisle Street. Alfred Hospital is in nearby Prahran, and Albert Park Lake, the setting for the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, is a little under an hour away by foot. Melbourne Airport is around 32 kilometres away with connections via Skybus.
