Welcome to Wilder Stay Tasmania, where refined luxury meets nature and the perfect place to find your feet. Set on 4 acres at the base of Kunanyi and just 5 minutes from Hobart’s CBD, the only interruptions to your peace may be a pademelon or cockatoo at the window. Relax in three loft bedrooms, open-plan living, a wellness yoga studio, and an outdoor sauna and bath—everything you need to unwind in comfort and style.
The Space:
When you arrive through the gates of Wilder Stay Tasmania, you’ll instantly feel removed from the city. Though only five minutes from Hobart’s CBD, this chalet feels worlds away — a retreat into wilder Tasmania. Set on four private acres overlooking the Waterworks Reserve and Chimney Pot Hill, it blends refined comfort with nature at your doorstep. From the outdoor bath, shower, or personal sauna, take in sweeping valley views and star-filled skies in total privacy.
Inside, the open-plan living area welcomes you with warmth and space to unwind. The state-of-the-art kitchen is fully equipped for home cooking, while the large dining table looks out to the surrounding bushland — perfect for slow breakfasts or dinner with a view.
Upstairs are three well-appointed loft bedrooms. The master includes a queen bed and Juliette balcony overlooking the valley, while the other two feature double beds. A cot can be provided on request, and the open landing offers a great space for children to play.
Outside is where Wilder Stay truly shines. Soothe tired muscles in the sauna and cold plunge/outdoor bath, stretch out in the yoga studio, or hit the gym and treadmill if you’re feeling energetic. The property’s native wildlife adds to the experience — keep an eye out for possums, wallabies, and local birdlife, with Tasmanian devils occasionally spotted nearby. The fully fenced garden makes it ideal for families.
Every detail has been considered, from satellite internet and multiple workspaces to an EV charger, children’s toys, and books for little explorers.
Perfect for families, adventurers, and anyone seeking peace and connection with nature, Wilder Stay borders the kunanyi / Mount Wellington reserve within a protected nature zone. Nearby Fern Tree offers endless hiking, biking, and trail-running opportunities, with The Springs and Pinnacle just a short drive away.
When you’re ready to explore, Base Camp in South Hobart is minutes away — home to Cascade Brewery, Cascade Gardens, and the Female Factory historic site. Wander the Hobart Rivulet Track, spot a platypus, and discover local cafés or the Hill Street Grocer.
Salamanca and the vibrant Hobart waterfront are only a short drive beyond.
