We had a great time on our little getaway. The home was closed to the State Park which was nice. We got to hike and explore nature a little bit. There was plenty of room in the house for our big group to have fun together and still have personal spaces. We plan go back in the spring or summer to check out the backyard and pool.

Our family had a great time at Starved Rock! A few things about the house were disappointing. Grass not cut so house looks rundown on the outside. Bunnies running around in the yard too!! You have ants in kitchen and birds in the eaves at top which we could hear during the night flying in and out. Birds nests also under the deck. Outside areas not well kept. Not enough towels for each guest... and 2 were spotted with dirt. After trying to reach owners about getting more towels I ended up washing the dirty towels and using my beach towel for my guests. The lock for the closet in the bathroom did not work with combination given!! Very frustrating!

If I could give less stars I would. On the outside it looks beautiful. On the inside it like a clown house, a fun house, bait and switch. Wi-Fi wasn't working, not enough towels for the amount of people, home foundation issues, bugs, sink and tub drainage problems, fireplace out of order but this wasn't stated in the ad. It's winter in Chicago and it had snowed the week before. They didn't even clear the snow prior to our arrival. A disabled person was with us. It was very icy and slippery. The management company is in California, trying to manage a property in Chicago... They are useless! Going back and forth about the issues. I'm pretty sure I was interacting with bots. This was to be a celebration that turned into a stressful situation. DO NOT RENT!!! You have been warned!

Our properties are personally inspected after every clean to ensure they meet our standards; during our recent walkthrough, the home was confirmed to be pest-free and fully stocked with towels. Regarding the snow, our plow service indicated that accumulation levels did not meet the dispatch threshold at the time, but we’ve reviewed our procedures with our local team to ensure safer access for future guests. We take your concerns seriously and have ensured the home is in peak condition for a smooth experience moving forward.
