Moa Whare by Stay Waiheke
Summary:
Moa Whare is a warm, inviting home set between Oneroa and Blackpool beaches, designed for easy island living. With generous indoor spaces, peaceful outlooks, and a wide deck that captures rural and sea views, it’s a comfortable retreat for up to four guests.
The Space:
The home is arranged around two relaxed living rooms that make it easy for a group to spread out or come together. The main lounge opens directly to the deck, filling the space with natural light and giving you a clear view across the surrounding landscape. The second living room offers a quieter space to read, unwind, or enjoy a slower start to the day.
At the centre of the home is a modern kitchen finished with dark cabinetry, clean lines, and integrated appliances. It overlooks the dining area and the outdoor living spaces, making meal preparation and shared dinners simple and sociable. Large sliding doors connect the kitchen and living areas to the deck, where wide timber flooring, sheltered seating, and open views create an easy indoor–outdoor flow.
The main level includes a spacious master bedroom with a king bed and an ensuite. The second bedroom sits downstairs and features a comfortable queen bed positioned beside the garden outlook. The bathrooms are well finished, tiled, and fitted with modern fixtures, including a walk-in shower and a wide vanity.
The deck is one of the standout features of Moa Whare. Framed by the home’s architectural detail and surrounding greenery, it’s a private place to sit outside, enjoy the fresh air, and watch the light change across the hills. The property’s garden areas add another layer of calm, connecting the home to its natural surroundings.
Bed Configuration
Bedroom 1: King bed
Bedroom 2 (downstairs): Queen bed
Please Note:
Minimum stays: 7 nights from mid December to mid January, 3 nights rest of January and all holiday weekends, 2 nights at all other times.
Guest Access:
Guests have full, private access to the entire home, including both living rooms, the kitchen and dining areas, the bedrooms and bathrooms, and all outdoor spaces including the deck and garden. Parking is available at the property. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible on request depending on bookings before and after your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Moa Whare is only a short distance from Oneroa Village, making it easy to enjoy local cafés, relaxed daytime dining, and evening restaurants.
For breakfast or coffee, Wai Kitchen offers brunch with views over Oneroa Bay, while Akito is a favourite for modern, plant-focused dishes. For lunch, Solar Eating House provides a laid-back daytime option in a sunny outdoor setting, and The Local offers simple, family-friendly meals close to the beach. Dinner choices nearby include The Oyster Inn for coastal-inspired dishes in a relaxed dining room and Fenice for Italian classics right in the centre of the village.
Two of Waiheke’s most iconic wineries, Mudbrick and Cable Bay, are also close by, offering elevated dining with wide sea views. The Heke provides a more casual setting with a brewery, grill, and large outdoor garden area.
Getting Around:
Waiheke Island is 20km long. Our properties are mainly located in the first 10km. Taxis are available but can be expensive. Regular bus services operate around the island. There is easy parking at the property.
Other Things to Note:
Minimum stays are seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights during the rest of January and all holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.
The home uses rainwater tanks, so mindful water use is appreciated.
Interaction with Guests:
The nearest bus stop is in Oneroa Village, with regular services that cover the main routes across the island and stop at wineries such as Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Tantalus, Stonyridge, and Te Motu. Taxis, e-bikes, scooters, and rental cars are available, and the property offers easy parking.
