Nice property.Found rules a bit strict around access to full unit with family as potential guest.Unfortunately weather was terrible during my entire stay so couldn’t use any amenities or even sit up top on the deck - so can’t make any comments on any of that.

The houseboat itself was okay for 3 people to stay but little privacy as the toilet is in one of the bedrooms. After I had booked and the day we were arriving I noticed the host and changed the listing photos which I probably wouldn’t have booked knowing the only toilet was in one of the bedrooms. There was also a sewage smell in the lower room, but the biggest issue was the spiders they are everywhere inside the houseboat so every night we had to either vacuum the beds and rooms or just kill the spiders. The second to last night the power went out and host said someone was coming but as no one was there by 9 am and we reported it at 6 am we decided to leave and host agreed to a 150 refund which I’m still waiting for almost a mo th later. The host was very rude and quite confrontational during communication and straight out lied to the vrbo agent who was trying to assist with the refund. Really put a damper on the end of the vacation so would not recommend

First and foremost, this guest knew exactly what she was booking. Our listing is detailed, accurate, and supported by numerous photos. At no time was it altered to mislead anyone—her accusation to the contrary is a blatant falsehood. Regarding her claim about the toilet: the bathroom door is located in a hallway directly across from one of the bedrooms, which is separated by a privacy curtain. The way she describes it—implying the toilet is inside the bedroom—is entirely untrue. Her statement about sewage in the lower room is also impossible. The holding tank is located at the back of the boat, nowhere near the lower room, which sits mid-ship. In all the time we have operated this rental, no guest has ever made such a claim. As for spiders, our listing clearly notes the possibility of insects as part of a marina environment. We take proactive measures, including thorough same-day cleaning and vacuuming before every check-in, as well as ultrasonic spider deterrent devices placed in each room. Yes, the power did go out, which can happen on docked boats, particularly in windy or stormy weather. However, she did not notify us when it happened—only the following day. Had she contacted us immediately, we could have resolved it within seconds by reconnecting the shore power at the dock. (We have since zip-tied the connection to prevent this from recurring.) Regarding the refund, we agreed to it and have been waiting for VRBO’s instructions. I assumed VRBO would process the refund and adjust it against our next booking, but I am still awaiting confirmation. I was reluctant to refund a guest who simply chose to leave early, particularly when the issue was both minor and easily corrected had she communicated in a timely manner. Finally, her accusations of lying are entirely unfounded. I consider these statements defamatory, and I will be consulting legal counsel on this matter.
