At low tide, enjoy the thrill of hunting for crabs, digging for cockles, gathering mussels, or bringing your fishing rod to try your luck from the jetty—then return home to prepare your own seafood feast and pick fresh organic greens from the vegetable and herb garden.Local Walks are plentiful and from the house you can explore the entire beach and straight onto the Huriawa headland for dramatic clifftop walking and splendid views. Several nearby beaches offer even more walking or water based activities including Warrington ( 15 minutes) , Waikouaiti (10 Minutes) and Doctors Point ( 20 minutes), to name but a few. Historic Dunedin and Lanarch Castle and the University are only 28 minutes away.
