Quiet and secluded rural retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Nest. The apartment was perfectly clean and comfortable and had all one could ask for. A smaller supermarket and shop were close by, Rangiora a bit further but perfect for us. We walked miles and enjoyed the evenings outside. The pool was a tad cool for us but all else perfect!

The property is beautiful. It is peaceful and a stone throw a way from the hustle and bustle in the city . I travelled everyday from the airport for work. I looked forward to coming (home). Doug will also give you a list of cost effective must sees around the area. Thank you for having me.

Lovely Stay in Swannanoa

We really enjoyed the location, the privacy of the property, and the beautifully landscaped grounds. Our unit was cozy, had an impressive bath suite, and we appreciated having access to laundry equipment. We do have a couple of suggestions. Our stay would have been perfect if there had been a way to cook simple meals inside the unit. Not much fun BBQing in the rain. The living room would be well served with the addition of a comfortable loveseat and chairs. What was provided really needs updating. Thank you, thank you for sharing your property with us. We loved having use of the pool.

The description clearly states there isn't a full internal kitchen with an oven available. There is only the microwave. People can then consider this prior to making a booking. The Wing apartment is designed for short-term holiday stays, not mid to long term accommodation. There is an abundance of photos which show what is provided. The 2-person couch is a modern and contemporary piece. For just 2 people, having the dining table and 2 dining/living chairs, there is not the need or space for more lounge seating. The place was nice . Owner was good to deal with , toilet roll holder was broken off when we arrived , plus toilet seat only had one side attached ,Pool wasn’t heated as advertised, the water was freezing so we opted not to use it ,Nice place . Very quiet , but found it a tad damp,A heat transfer would solve the damp issue very quickly

Nice clean quiet place.

Was a tranquil setting. However the timing of the watering system was poor and made it difficult to have my mum enter through the water. Pointed right at the entry. Nice to have fruit and bickie welcome with milk in the fridge. Nice size for two people but I feel if you were a family wouldn't suit. One bedroom we were in.

Hello Vickie. The irrigation for both the lawns and gardens is only on at each station for 15 minutes. We endeavour to time the use of this to coincide with guests being away from the property. A simple call, text, or knock on the main dwelling door when you returned would have enabled us to turn it off. It is a shame you commented on this when we showed our willingness accommodate your request to have a few family members visit and make use of our facilities without charge. We are surprised you state the spacious apartment would be too small for 4 people. It is 80 sq meters which is twice the size of the average one bedroom motel which are between 35-45 sq meters. Studio motels are around 25-30 sq meters. We have had many groups of 4 people stay and comment on the spaciousness of the Nest apartment. When 4 people book there are 2 single bed in the open plan living room, and the queen bed in the screened main bedroom area. It is a pity the weather on the Saturday was a little cold for your family to enjoy the gardens and surrounds. Kind regards Doug and Ali

Amazing restful break

Lovely place to explore Christchurch

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect set up for the four of us, (we have two teenage children) as I liked having us all in one area. It’s a nice big space and the main bedroom area feels separate with the blinds closed. It was all lovely and clean and Doug and Ali had thought of absolutely everything. Lovely garden setting too and we all had a lovely dip in the gorgeous pool. Thanks very much :)
