I'm glad you and your family enjoyed this milestone anniversary at Leaping Fawn Lodge-we'd love to have the opportunity to host you again. In regards to the pool, unfortunately renovations have been paused for the foreseeable future due to delays with the contractor. If we are able to offer the pool as an amenity in the future, we will be sure to update our listing information at that time.

Our mountain location does offer unique opportunities to see local wildlife and get away from it all. Although the internet in the house is not high speed, it is the only option in our rural area. Like you, most of our guests are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and find that our mountain setting provides a much needed escape, while still within easy access of shopping, national parks and attractions.

We are sorry to learn that you had an experience that did not satisfy your expectations. We strongly suggest that guests read the listing prior to booking. I feel it necessary to address the spurious claims & misleading statements made, and hopefully clarify for future guests that our home’s amenities are as advertised and in good working order. The basement bedrooms are code compliant, with 2 doors in/out and ample electrical outlets. Please know that the following are clearly stated in our listing, and we go to great lengths to ensure guests are fully informed about the amenities we provide: Pool: “THINGS TO NOTE: Pool is not operational and is not currently offered as an amenity.” Air Conditioning: “PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ENTIRE HOUSE IS NOT AIR-CONDITIONED: All bedrooms on the top floor have central AC; the Stargazer (master suite on the first floor) has central AC; the Family King Suite and twin bedroom share a fixed AC floor unit (which cools both rooms, if connecting door is open). There are ceiling fans in all bedrooms, except the Cherry bedroom.” All air conditioning units are in perfect working order--In fact, usage history for the Nest thermostats reflects that the AC was utilized continuously during this booking. Portable AC sign states: “This AC unit is permanently installed - please do not move it! I’m puzzled how this was interpreted to say that the unit doesn’t work. It too, works fine & has a remote control to set temperature, fan speed and even a timer if desired. Refrigerator(s): “There are 3 refrigerators with freezers in the house” - We routinely host large groups receiving 5-star reviews & comments on how well equipped the kitchens are. Again, not sure how or why the other 2 refrigerators weren’t noted or used by this guest. “Spa” (Hot tub): All jets are functional. Two control panels activate the jets & massage features, as shown in the “quick start” hot tub guide. A quick call or text would have cleared this up immediately. I am happy to assist with operation of the HVAC, Dish TV, AC systems, hot tub, etc. as well as to answer questions about the house. The Stargazer suite features panoramic windows with no blinds in order to not obstruct the views, and is accurately depicted in our listing. Maintenance issues are promptly addressed if we are made aware of them. Guest did not report any difficulties during his stay and was unresponsive to my texts offering assistance & inquiring if everything was ok with the house. I enjoy interacting with our guests and provide my personal cell phone upon booking. This has been frequently mentioned by past guests, who routinely post 5-star reviews of the lodge. We hope that future guests will understand that, while our home is managed with the highest standards, we are unable to provide an experience beyond what our listing advertises.

We're glad you and your friends enjoyed the house--the views & the hot tub are favorites among our guests. Stardust (our outdoor cat) loves to hang out on the deck and greet our visitors. She has a cozy bed above the garage, since she isn't permitted in the main house due to allergies. We appreciate your kindness to her & would welcome you to stay with us again in the future.

Due to our mountain location, there's no commercial trash service and the options for internet service providers is quite limited. We do provide lots of DVD's, books, puzzles & Dish TV on 6 TV's and of course the "secret" play room, which is always popular with our younger guests. The Lodge is a great place to relax & spend time with family and friends, as you've mentioned. Come stay with us again!
