Could use a deep clean and some safety improvements.Spiders in most corners and rooms, spiderwebs and cobwebs on furniture, extra blankets were crusty with gum or candy stuck to them. Felt half like someone lived there but hadn't been there in a while. Steep slippery steps and no railing to get to the river, and the "cottage" deck on the property is in a state of disrepair. No railing spindles or truss beam supports below it (after talking with the host he seemed shocked I thought it was part of the rental - but there is nothing saying its not and it's midway toward the lower part of the property, it would be a nice relaxing river view if it was renovated - but It appears that the owners stay there when there are guests, (though we must have missed that in the description or it was added after we talked). This threw us off. It seemed abandoned but one window standing wide open and we worried that we were going to stumble across a random visitor staying there. So we chose to leave. The listing says fishing and swimming access, but there is no direct access to the river, it isn't inviting or easy to get to or maintained. The description says there is a railing, but actually there's a dangling rope attached to a wall that you're supposed to hold onto. Once you reach the lower part of the property there's still a significant drop to get to the water and even dangling your feet in would be a challenge.
