This property really is the "Perfect Hideaway"! It is a piece of paradise on the Gulf of Mexico. The hideaway is located on the northern side of the Yucatan Peninsula, 40 minutes north of the Merida airport. The private home in paradise is 4 steps from the ocean-side patio to beautiful sandy beaches of the Yucatan.

The home has 2 bedrooms, both with king beds, ample closet space in each bedroom. With two bathrooms, the house is great for families, couples, or a group of friends looking for an amazing get away!

Washer and dryer are private and on site (in second bath) so no need to pack an abundance of clothing. All linens are included and replaced and updated frequently (sheets, kitchen towels, bath towels, beach towels). A oversized garden tub is in second bath for relaxing bubble baths or bathing small tots! A fully functional kitchen is ready for you to prepare fresh seafood that can be delivered to your door! (Please understand, a starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels are provided. Laundry detergent, trash bags, and additional paper products will need to be purchased by tenant.)

The ocean front filtered pool is private to this home and has soothing water features to enjoy while watching the sunset. With covered patios surrounding three sides of the home, there are ample places to hang a hammock and enjoy the cool ocean breezes.

We have smart tv's, board games, movies, books and puzzles for entertainment. We have a treadmill for those days that it’s just too hot or too rainy for beach walking!

Our awesome property managers live only minutes away and are English speaking. A binder with information is provided with rental to help make sure you have a great vacation!

On the BEACH :)

The location of the house El Escondite Perfecto is exactly as it seems. You are on the beach, literally 10 steps from the water ! We spent two relaxing weeks and never tired of looking out at the ocean (gulf) from the living room, kitchen, one of the bedrooms and of course the deck of the pool. We loved listening to the waves and watching the often spectacular sunsets from the roof or pool side deck. Priscilla, the property manager, is really nice and super helpful and resourceful. The house is clean, organized, had towels for twenty and a well equipped kitchen. The AC was great and needed. Merida, which we loved is only a 40 minute drive away as well. Life is full of decisions, some of which are difficult. It's nice when the decision is: pool or ocean or both.

This is a two-part review, the rental and the town of Chelem. The rental was just as pictured: clean, spacious, well-stocked, right on the Gulf and at a great price. Andy the caretaker and Andi the owner were both easy to work with and accommodating. We had a death in our family and had to postpone our trip for a week and they allowed us to change our reservation with no penalties. Andy was always available when/if we needed anything. So I would give the actual rental a decent rating. On the other hand, the town of Chelem and the areas adjacent to the rental were pretty run down. Some of the nearby rentals were in good shape and undergoing renovation, but most of the areas in the neighborhood and in the center of Chelem were shabby. My husband ran almost every day and was often pursued by random dogs of questionable intent. Also, there are three dogs adjacent to the rental that growl and bark wildly almost every time you leave the property and lock the gate. In addition, Chelem is far from other places you might want to visit like Progreso, Chuburna, Merida, or Celestun. So for us, a car was absolutely essential, but avoid at all costs Nucar (American) and rent from a company at the airport. Be advised that driving is harrowing with narrow roads, huge speed bumps, lots of motorcycles and wild traffic. We stayed for a month, but if you're looking for a shorter vacation to sit by the pool or play in the waves of the Gulf, this would definitely be a place to consider.

Stunning Location- Great Property

Wow! Oceanside, Pool, Great Kitchen, A/C in kitchen/living room, and both bedrooms, fans in all rooms ~ a fantastic property to unwind, go for walks and just chill out. Laundry was a plus for sure! Great outdoor living space by the pool with a large table and chairs. Watch the Pelicans diving, bird life and local fisherman. Excellent kitchen space to cook for yourself or family. Large Fridge and Freezer with ice maker. Filtered water was a great, so you aren't hauling bottles of water in. Hot water always worked, some natural area hard water causes some clogging of spouts, but to be expected with oceanside and rural Mexico living. Rooftop access to watch the sunset was really sweet! Beautiful wall murals have been recently painted outdoors. Palm tree's and flowers in the entry way. It is a short walk to the town square and grocery/fruteria's. Local bike taxi's, Colectivo's to Progreso and local towns, Bus to the big city of Merida all available in nearby Progreso. Uber can sometimes be available. So you can experience the 'Big' city of Merida, beach town vibe of Progreso, or chilled small town Chelem without renting a car if you choose. A great guide book at the home to help you learn about local area tips etc. Local fisherman available for home delivery of fish/prawns/lobster/crab meat. Property has great internet, large screen TV Local host's very connected and available for questions and helpful for local area tips.

Superbe endroit sur la plage

Cette residence est directement sur la plage, avec piscine creusee qui donne aussi sur la plage, il y a toujours une brise rafraîchissante qui souffle sur la terrasse…les chambres sont spacieuses…les lits confortables et la cuisine bien equippé… Bien entretenu et super service de Andrew… Merci et a l’annee prochaibe☺️☺️⛱
