This was a bit of a frustrating experience. Upon checkin, everything was great. Unfortunately, a few hours in, we noticed that the air conditioning wasn't working in the master bedroom. The host was very responsive and tried to get something accomplished, but unfortunately, when one room would get better, others would get worse. A couple of AC people came out to check on it, but they couldn't fix it so they then installed some temporary window units. Sadly, these did not work that well and the temperature in the condo was pretty hot for our stay. We actually left the condo a day early due to the issue... not something that you hope to have happen on a trip to Hawaii, after 10 hours in the air. Overall, I felt the host tried to help but after realizing that there wasn't much to be done, I do feel like some economic concessions should have been made and the only offer was extremely low (barely five percent of the total). In addition, the comment of "our rental agreement addresses equipment failures and potential delays in repairs", and "this is why we put the clause in the rental agreement about anything breaking" seemed to be a pretty common excuse both verbally and in email, almost making me think that there could be a pattern. Regardless, overall, the unit would be very nice if the AC worked appropriately. Just tough to spend significant dollars and then have a situation like this with only a minimal offer of recourse.
