Relaxing Vacation

We had the most relaxing time staying at this condo. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, lots of extra bath towels, and everything you need for the beach. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful condo by the beach!

We had a wonderful time staying at Don’s condo. The location is perfect, check in and check out was super easy, and the condo was beautiful and comfortable. We will be back for sure!

8 days in paradise

We had a great stay in the condo! The location was absolutely perfect, place looked just like the pictures, and it was so helpful to have beach chairs available. We also enjoyed the pools and garden at the resort. Would book again!

Nice condo in a great area

The property was clean, relatively and in an area where many restaurants and beaches could be easily accessed. Don responded quickly when needed and we had all that we needed. If you’re looking for a resort feel with the flexibility of private ownership, this is the place for you!

great stay

My husband & I recently stayed at Don's place, & we had a great time! The studio was modern and comfortable with plenty of space. We were very appreciative of the beach equipment that was available to us. We enjoyed the resort itself, especially the hot tub & pool. The neighborhood is perfect with many shops & restaurants, with even more options within a 10-15 minute drive. I would like to warn people to bring water shoes if you plan on swimming at the beach in front because it is very rocky & easy to cut your foot. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay!

Pools were beautiful. They're unheated, but it didn't seem to bother the kids. A quick hot tub dip at the end of the day was great. Walkable location. Borrowing pickleball, shuffleboard and tennis gear from the front desk was great. Listing photos show 2 boogie boards, there was only one, but they're also rentable all over the place. The other toys, chairs, and umbrella were great to have access to. Hopefully the wifi instructions get updated for future guests, as we had a hard time connecting, but host was helpful in getting us squared away. There were no dishtowels, which seemed odd but otherwise kitchen was stocked well. Would have been nice to have a few more place settings so the dishwasher didn't have to run after every meal. The dishwasher top shelf was broken so it was hard to get rolled in shut. The ice maker is so slow! May not be a bad idea to buy a bag of ice to keep in there to supplement how slow it is. The pull out couch was comfortable for my teenager, however I was a little grossed out when we pulled it out as the middle of the frame was moldy. Maybe some foldable chairs to add to the balcony for seating would be nice. The place can accommodate 4, but it only has 1 chair and 1 chaise on balcony.. the property requires 10/day parking and if you want to use the gym, its 7/person/day. We had a great time and would recommend this studio to others

The condo itself really needs to be updated. The carpet is disgusting, the mattress seemed like it was from 1980 and one of the walls is literally buckling.

Gordon Hawaii stay

Overall we had a really nice visit. We had a few mishaps in the room, the main one was the closet door is broken and not easy to access. By the end of our stay in was completely off the hinges. We found a coakroach type beetle on the floor, no check out procedure list to work off, the check in process mentioned access to a gym pass and parking pass, but we found neither. I sent an email about the closet door to mgmt. but did not hear back.

Hi Jennifer, sorry about the mishaps. Per the closet, we spoke to maintenance and they said they would come to fix it. As for the gym and parking pass, that has been removed per Covid standards as well as a new hotel policy that require all guests to pay guest parking. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Great Getaway!

My wife and I enjoyed spending our 35th Anniversary here! The property is beautiful, especially loved strolling at night with tiki torches, lush gardens, fire pit, etc. Very romantic! Great specialty drinks at the bar as well! The unit itself was very nice. The only problem (no fault of the owner) was noisy/rowdy activity coming from outside in the middle of the night. Not sure if it was next door neighbors, or the resort property next door. The parking situation was confusing, too. The parking attendants were very confused as to why we didn't have a parking pass, but we weren't told to get a parking pass. Perhaps the one could clarify for future tenants. Don't let this stop anyone from booking this place; we would return in a heartbeat!

Thanks Kevin! Yes the parking situation changed and it’s confusing the guests and parking staff. But yes, all guests are now required to pay for a guest parking pass at $9/day. Sorry for the confusion.

The owner responds really fast to any questions and is very helpful. The unit is 500 sq. ft. and is perfect for 2 adults and 2 small children. It was a little crowded for grown children. I had a late flight and the owner was extremely reasonable about letting us extend our stay past check out time with a very generous price. The safe was locked, so we couldn't use it, but the building seemed very safe. It was nice to have some pool toys available to use. There were 2 boogie boards, mask, snorkel and fins, a noodle and a few other things. I wish the pool had more umbrellas for shade, but we didn't have to wait to long before being able to move to a shaded area by the pool. The pictures shown are exactly the way you will find it. The building is conveniently close to so many great restaurants and markets. If you are making a simple breakfast in the morning, the kitchen is great. I would recommend the place have a few things to make the kitchen cooking great, such as a pasta strainer, mixing bowls, at least a 6 piece place setting dishware and utensils, 2 sharper knives and some serving spoons. We would recommend this unit again.

Disappointing

Upon arrival to the unit we found several issues that we attempted to contact the owner about. We were unable to use the lanai or even open the sliding door to take advantage of the sea air and breeze due to construction on the building’s lanai. We were never notified of this. The unit had several areas in disrepair, with broken tile and trim in places, furniture with evident stains on them, an inadequate supply of dinner utensils and buckling walls in the living room. We attempted to contact Mr Tran through this app but never received a response. Customer service is thereby rated as “ZERO”. Based on the above issues we feel we were grossly overcharged for our stay.

Sorry Marty you were unhappy with your stay. However, it is on the listing about the balcony construction that will end on 12/22/22. As for not receiving your message, there is some issue with VRBO’s website and I did not receive any message. I wish you would have called VRBO, and they would have notified me. As for the other things you mentioned, I have not received any complaints from other guests about those things, so I hope these aren’t stemming from my inability to not receive your message. Regardless, I will look into every last thing you mentioned just to be sure. Mahalo

Very loud, views of canal, misleading inclusions

The unit is located facing a canal of some sorts and is subsequently in a wind tunnel. So every afternoon/evening as winds picked up, the entire glass slider shook and rattled for hours as winds blew thru. Can hear and feel all the movement of house cleaners and guests in unit above. There’s mold on shower curtain, wall plaster is cracking and looks like the wall is going to cave in at any time in living room, broken tiles on kitchen floor. You have to pay daily for parking and out daily for gym use. Unit had enough towels but only 3 wash clothes for 2 people over 5 days, and front desk housekeeping cannot replace or give more since it’s a private owned condo. Will not stay here again.

Sorry you didn’t have a good stay Christina. All my other guests didn’t mention any of the things you mentioned. As for the parking pass and gym pass, it’s stated in my listing that this needs to be paid as required by the hotel. I know you were unhappy about that, but that is beyond my control and all guests in the hotel are required to pay this. Nonetheless, thank you for staying. Mahalo

Comfortable Stay

My family and I (spouse and 2 kids) stayed here for a few nights. The resort is good for kids and has 2 great pools. The room was as described/pictured and had a bed and pull out couch which were across from each other. Would be a bit less privacy than most people would like if you're staying with other people and would be best for a couple or one person. Room was very clean and we were very happy overall with our stay.

Great location, nice hotel, comfy room

This studio has everything you would need for visiting Maui. It's simple and accessible. The location is great and the hotel has beautiful grounds with a couple pools and lots of seating areas and a bar/cafe. The parking is easy and $9/day which you purchase at the front desk. There is a cute glimpse of the sea from the right of the balcony. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is comfortable. It was a good base for us since we didn't spend much time at the room and mostly were out exploring each day. Don was easy to communicate with during our stay.

Amazing deal near Lahaina

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon. We had a great time enjoying the pools and small beach, and checking out old Lahaina. Don was super responsive and helpful, and the property was well maintained. There was some construction going on at the property during the day, but it stopped in the early evening. Definitely recommend this place for couples looking to get that “resort feel” without paying resort prices.

Cozy, Affordable, Perfect for 1-2

Don’s place was exactly as pictured, and he provided quick replies to any questions I had. It was a lovely stay, a beautiful 45-minute drive from the airport, saw Humpback whales breaching the ocean on the drive in March, so cool!!! The bed is comfortable but not private, it’s all open studio type of living, which is perfect for 1 couple or 1 person. Really appreciated Don’s attention to the little details, like providing free beginners snorkel gear, boogie boards and really lovely soft towels. No roosters near me, just the tropical birds early morning get loud but I loved it. You also don’t hear them if you use the AC and keep the glass door shut, but I’m from Alaska and we don’t do AC, haha. It does get windy, definitely a surfer’s beach on those wild days, but there are so many beautiful beaches and places to visit nearby, you can’t go wrong. Best snorkeling is probably Black Rock but be careful and never turn your back on the waves! And use eco-friendly sun screen to protect the wildlife! I would definitely use this place again.
