Willkommen in Westwood, einem sehr privaten Kurzurlaub in den Bergen, ungefähr eine Meile außerhalb von Thomas, WV, in der historischen Gegend von Coketon, WV. Es befindet sich eine Meile oberhalb des Blackwater Canyon auf mehr als zwei Hektar und grenzt an das Grundstück Western Pocahontas, rund 68.000 Hektar Wild West Va. Eine sehr private Lage trägt zur Ästhetik bei, während Sie sich in der Nähe des Stadtzentrums von Thomas befinden. Das Haus mit 2 1/2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Vollbädern bietet Platz für bis zu acht Personen und verfügt über eine große Terrasse mit Blick auf die "Mauren" sowie eine Veranda mit Blick auf den Snyder Run. Wandern, Radfahren, Langlaufen sind nur einige der Aktivitäten, die an einem der besten Orte der Region angeboten werden. Der Blackwater Canyon Trail befindet sich am Fuße des Hügels. Biegen Sie rechts ab zu den Douglas Falls und links nach 3/4 Meile in Richtung Thomas. Wenn Sie ein Berg sind. Perfect getaway

This space was the absolute perfect place for our family to get away to and unwind. The location is peaceful and easy to find - and so conveniently located to the shops in Thomas. Having a space that also thoughtfully considers what’s necessary to be “dog friendly” was another huge perk.We absolutely will be back!

Perfect Location

House was clean and comfortable. E-biking the Blackwater Canyon Trail to Hendricks and back was wonderful, the trail is feet from the house. Nearby Douglas Falls is great. Blackwater Falls State Park is just a few miles away. So many other outdoor activities nearby. We picked this destination because my wife began researching her genealogy a few years ago and found that her mother’s family was deeply embedded in the history of Tucker County. She found a story at the library about an ancestor of hers who was lost for five days crossing Backbone Mountain from Sugar Lands to Thomas. This is the national forest area that is adjacent to Westwood (you can see the wind turbines on backbone mountain from the house). If we return, we’d definitely stay here again.

Perfect weekend getaway!

The property is close to major attractions but away from town. It's the last house on a dead-end street with only one other home. Note: the neighbors have two off-leash labs that came to the property daily. Be mindful if your dog is also off-leash. I was not concerned they would bite or attack, but they barked a lot when out. It was quiet (when neighbor dogs weren't out) and secluded. The place was nicer than the pictures. The kitchen was stocked (just bring cooking oil or butter). I would stay here again if I were visiting. Bring tissues and soap/toiletries.

We took a somewhat spontaneous trip to this house. We've rented in the area many times, but we really loved how comfortable the house was and the location. An Idyllic Retreat

This house is charming, well spaced and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. If you look for peace and quiet- yet close to all main state parks trails and attractions - this is it. The nearby little towns of Thomas and Davis were a pleasant surprise with so many good cafes, restaurants, farmers market and gift shops. We had a wonderful time and recharged.

Michelle and Rex Phares live in Elkins, WV, about a 40 minute drive from Westwood. We've spent many weekends and holidays at Westwood as have many of our friends.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

It's the location. Close to Thomas with all its artsy and antique shops and the Purple Fiddle. Yet Westwood is all about privacy. It's a great place to explore the Cannan Valley and Thomas/Davis area. There's a lot to do here, world class mountain biking, x-country skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, bird watching. The Blackwater Canyon rails to trail is at the bottom of our driveway. There is the Mountain State Brewing Company, Sirrianis Pizza, Hellbenders Burritos and Stumptown Ales all with a 3 mile drive. If your visiting between March and November, by all means, bring your mountain or road bike. December thru March bring your skis or snowboard. There's always something to do.
