The Good: Spacious house with large rooms in a great location. Good communication with the host. Everything worked fine (appliances, bbq, hot water, TVs etc). Beds were comfortable and the house was clean. We appreciated the Keurig and regular coffee pot as well as the many snacks and treats left for us. The Not As Good: This house is old and has not been updated. Be prepared for broken cabinet doors, evidence of leaks in the ceiling, broken towel racks in the bathrooms, old appliances (the ovens are particularly small but clean and worked well) as well as well worn wood floors and carpets. No of these issues took away from our stay but if you are looking for high end, this is not it. The only real issue we had was there was not enough silverware - I think only 10 forks total. Something the host could easily remedy. We would stay again for sure if visiting Stanford or the area with a large group but I wouldn’t choose it for guests I want to impress.

Mike was very responsive and welcoming. The house was perfect for our 13 person group and ideally located for the wedding we were attending at Stanford. It was an excellent and comfortable stay.

The house is in a great location if you need to be near Stanford (or Palo Alto and Menlo Park). The kitchen is GREAT. Huge! Needs some newer pots/pans and more cutlery, and the cooktop needs some attention (the gas burners don't all light) but there is a standard AND a "pod" coffee maker. Two driveway spots, and one garage spot, and street parking. But you're near a busy corner so you need to pay attention when pulling in and out. You're just around the corner from the Dutch Goose, Starbucks, Lulus and Flea Street if you don't feel like cooking yourself. The house needs some TLC - there were some non-working lightbulbs and some doors off hinges, towels bars needing repair, a bed frame needing repair, etc. And the upstairs windows are hard to open (we couldn't figure out how) so it was warm and stuffy at night. The front door really needs an improved way to enter. It's a bit glitchy and there are newer keyless systems that could be installed.Finally, most rooms (especially the bedrooms) are short on outlets - if you need to plug in multiple devices, bring an power strip. And this is shoe-free household.

This was a large, spacious property (for SF). Very clean and comfortable for our group of professionals going to a business conference. Parking was good on the street. We would have appreciated a later check out time than 10am, but it worked out fine in the end. Mike was responsive and helpful.

Perfection.

Our stay at this VRBO was absolutely perfect for our family of eight! The home offered plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their own privacy while still giving us great areas to gather together. It was incredibly clean, well-supplied, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The owner was a fantastic communicator—friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. Parking was easy and convenient, and the quiet neighborhood made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Everything in the home worked perfectly, and we truly felt at home from the moment we arrived. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling with a larger group or family!

Celebration of Life

We were looking for a house near to where we were having a celebration of life for a recently passed family member. The house was perfect for our large extended family (aunts, uncles, mom, siblings, kids (10, 13, 16). We were all comfortable in the house and were able to entertain friends who came by.The house was clean and in a great location for us. Communication and feedback with owner was great too.

Good spot for big group

Really nice house in a great neighborhood. Couple of restaurants walkable from the house (Lulu's, Dutch Goose and Avanti Pizza) that were all really good. We hit Lulu's multiple times, since we were traveling from the east coast and west coast mexican food is just way better. Lots of room, great backyard outdoor space. I know this next comment is specific, but we stayed a week and cooked a few nights. Kitchen was nice, but could use a large pot for cooking multiple packs of spaghetti/pasta. Had to cook one box at a time, which was tough when you have 8 hungry guys. Also Mike, the knives could use a sharpening ;). Again, this was very specific to our group, but just a heads up if you want to cook a large meal for 6+ people. Also, could have used more tupperware for the leftovers. Mike was super responsive with any questions/concerns, which we really did not have. The keycode stopped working one day but he fixed next morning. We could access through the garage as well so it worked. Overall good house in good location, easily accessible to PA, SFO and highways.

A nice place to stay... But....

This is a nice place in a nice location near Stanford. Not unlike many home rentals, it is the final resting place of a myriad of mismatched furniture and styles, but perfectly comfortable. As the rating stars would indicate, it is clean, and the host is communicative. But perhaps to a fault. My only point of concern was the constant barrage of notes reminding us of the rules. It almost became a game for us to find all of the notes and signs that warned us of the ramifications of breaking the various rules. I understand that some renters may not be respectful of short term rental units, but we kind of found it a bit overbearing for responsible folks like us. It made it difficult to feel comfortable. So if you don't mind following rules and being constantly reminded of them, this is a great option.
