The Worst Place I've Stayed in Cartagena in The Past 17 Years.
Other than the view and the location this is the worst place to stay. Just like the other gentleman's review here there were no comforters on the beds. Upon arrival I had a bad vibe. I arrived to the front desk and they didn't even know who I was even after calling ahead as requested by the owner. I had to wait in the lobby for about 10 mins to get escorted to the management office. Then the girl told me the room was not ready and for me to go out to have lunch. This was not what I wanted to do after traveling all day. Then after arriving to the apartment there was an inspection which included counting all pieces of silverware. I thought that this was extreme and never experienced this at other close by rentals.
As far as guests were concerned, the page advertisement states price includes up to 5 guests. I had another friend come from the USA which made 2. Before a early tour I had told local Colombian friends that they could stay over with me because it was closer to the tour for them. When arriving into the building the security guards harassed us and told me that they could only stay until 4:30 am. After I told them the apartment rental advertisement stated 5 people they told me ok, 6:30 am. This was an embarrassment and the first time I ever had any restrictions on any guests at any other rental.
Bottom line is that this staff is not foreigner friendly. They never greeted me nor my friends while I watched them great locals. I am fluent in Spanish so there were no language barrier. The ad is misleading when states up to 5 people and sleeps 8. The pool area is great but that to is guarded with a watch dog. Can't do this, can't have that. I rent apartments for the flexibility and not to be hassled by staff. This is not that place.
