We loved SkyArbor and Montana
The Seastrand's SkyArbor home was a wonderful home based for our Montana trip. Paul and Susan were so easy to communicate with, offering suggestions about places to visit in the surrounding Wilsall, Livingston, and Bozemen areas. Our trip's focus was Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and the Prior Mountain Wild Mustangs, but we also had a great time visiting the local towns and communities. Wilsall (pop. <> 237) has a couple of terrific local eateries: Crazy Mountain Momma Coffee ( great coffee and big delicious brownies) and The Bank, Bar and Vault ( anything you want, but the steak was out of this world). Folks are welcoming, friendly and very helpful.
I have to say that the views from SkyArbor cabin change throughout the day. From morning sunrise to sunset the views are stunning. Viewing the night sky is worth the visit. With little to no ambient light you can easily see the constellations (Star Walk apps make it much easier to pinpoint the stars and id the constellations). One of my favorite activities was just sitting on the large front porch during the day and watching the weather patterns change the landscape. The cloud formations were astonishing. The (very close) views of the beautiful Crazy Mountains also kept us interested, constantly vying to identify the animals through our binoculars (Big Horn Sheep??)
The house had all of the amenities of home, making it easy to cook meals when we stayed in for the day. The sleeping accommodations were very comfortable, and Paul and Susan's western reading materials, including animal and bird guidebooks, non fiction and fiction books focused on western life.
On the whole (aside from the continual heart palpitations due to the occasional closer than comfortable access to buffalo, grizzly bears, and very large/very tall Elk, in Yellowstone and the Tetons) the trip was very relaxing and thanx to the Seastrands for enabling our terrific time out west. Thanx so much.
Awesome view! Awesome hosts!
Great little place with one of the best views around the area. Comfortable, clean, and quiet. If you’re going to be coming and going regularly driveway and gates can be a pain... not knocking the property, just wish we would’ve known that beforehand. Hosts were great.
Aleks and company were great guests to have. Their comment about the gates is true. We have a horse and donkey on the property, so we need to keep the gates closed. However, if that would create a problem for someone, we would be willing to put the animals in the upper pasture so gates could be left open. Just let us know. We are always willing to make accommodations.
Memories to last a lifetime!
Thank you, Paul and Susan, for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin! The property is beautiful and the views are gorgeous!
Paul and Susan were very accommodating. From showing us around the property to giving suggestions to hiking and fishing spots.
We enjoyed our hotdogs and s’mores overlooking the mountain when we wanted to relax. And the house is a great home base for daytrips to Yellowstone, Livingston, horseback riding or fishing on the many local rivers.
We all enjoyed our time at Sky Arbor and will talk about it for years to come. Thanks again!
Lovely get away
We enjoyed the property very much. It was well kept and the surroundings were peaceful.
Laurie and family were great guests. They were very gracious. I would recommend them as guests to other VRBO owners.
The pictures are nice, but the property is even more stunning in person. This is a great place if you do not want to do touristy things. If you like to hike, this is the place to be. There are very rugged trails that lead up to beautiful vistas. Make sure you rent a four wheel drive.
Ron, Thanks for the great review. We are "off the beaten path" as you infer. I would say that having a 4WD is desirable, but it is not necessary. Thanks for being such a great guest! We would welcome you back anytime.
We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful cabin and location.
Only improvements would be the road leading to the cabin ( I don’t know how to drive up steep, gravel roads), the shower had us a little claustrophobic, and WiFi was limited.
The cabins location is amazing, loved walking up the pathway to overlook the valley, check in was easy, the owners showed us around the property, the cabin was well maintained.
I would definitely rent again if I was ever in the area.
Thanks again for letting us rent from y’all!
Amy, Thanks for the wonderful review. I agree the road is somewhat steep, but it is not a problem as long as one keeps a steady speed up the hill. A 4WD is preferable, but it is not necessary. I think the views and property make up for the small shower. Yes, our WiFi is limited, but we live in rural Montana where the WiFi is very limited. We have the best WiFi available in our area. We loved having you and your family as guests and would welcome you back anytime.
