I stayed at this house to be close to the hospital after my wife delivered our son. The property was well stocked and was very family friendly; with amenities like a crib and changing table. The host was very responsive and we had a great time overall. I would definitely recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a place in Pittsburgh.

Great place!

Beautiful Home in Convenient Location

The property was very clean and well-appointed. The bath towels were especially thick and absorbent. The free coffee was a nice touch! The house is very conveniently located. It was a short drive to the restaurants near the baseball and football stadiums. The drive to Oakmont for the US Open was also pretty easy. We would definitely consider staying here again if we ever come back to Pittsburgh.

Excellent, very spacious house. We were 14 people. They provided us with extra air mattresses. Andrew provided excellent service, always very friendly. The bus station is very close, making it easy to get around by public transportation to the downdtown Something that surprised us was seeing deer outside the house at night. Highly recommended. We were in the ‘burg for a family event. This property was perfect for our 3 generations plus 2 loveable dogs. This house is very charming, clean, and well taken care of. The host couldn’t be nicer. He was very attentive and helpful. Great Property For A Big Group

We were in town for a Taekwondo tournament, bringing our family and some instructors with us. The property had plenty of room and everyone had their own bed- which is hard to find for such a big group. The house has been remodeled from the kitchen to the bathrooms, and some of the character and charm of this older home was kept- which made it special. Communication with Andrew was on point from the beginning. He was ready to help if anything came up. We enjoyed our stay and were not disappointed with anything! An absolute treasure.

It was a beautiful, old house that has been updated with classy, modern features. It slept our family of 11 very comfortably. It was near many tourist attractions in downtown Pittsburgh. Andrew, the manager was extremely professional and responsive. Problems were minor and handled quickly and excellently. The full kitchen was well equipped and saved us a lot of money. There was plenty of room to sit together and visit or to get away and be alone from the rest of the crowd. For a large group visiting the area, this was a fabulous choice, and I would recommend it highly.

Classic Pittsburgh home, great for families

This house is so classic Pittsburgh. The woodworking is beautiful. It has so much space, it can easily accommodate a large family or group. It was very clean, and the owner was very friendly and responsive. The only downsides we experiences were that the air conditioning does not reach the 3rd floor well (we were visiting during a heat wave, and there was a window unit in 1 of the 3rd floor bedrooms but not the other), and the internet is slow if more than 1 device is using it at the same time. The steps might be hard for young kids and older folks, but were fine for us.

I'm Andrew, and I cannot express to you enough how happy I am to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh. After growing up in the area's declining steel industry, and moving to New England for about 9 years, I'm finally back to the only city that ever felt like home.

I started Steel River Ventures as a way to embrace the city I love when I moved back home to Pittsburgh in 2017. Now I want to share my homes and my city with our guests! I've been fortunate enough to grow over the years along with Pittsburgh and watch it transform. With every day that passes, I discover something else about this city that I love and would be happy to share that with you.

I am more than happy to be as active a host as you'd like. By default, you as a guest will have your privacy, but I'm always available to meet and share my thoughts on the area with you. Be warned though, I love Pittsburgh and that will come through in our conversations!

My primary income is working in vocational learning technology, but I am a car guy at heart. Whenever my schedule allows, I try to get to local track events at roadcourses, auto-cross or hillclimb venues. I enjoy teaching performance driving, car control and driver safety as well.
