I was a general contractor in California, and now have a hectares, 2.5 acres, of jungle on the beach to continue building a dream that others can enjoy.
There is great well water here, as well as water from the nearby river, so even in the dry season we are set.
The local community, including many expats, is great, which is a big plus as well.
It's still off the grid here in Matapalo, so large hotels are kept out, and eco-tourism, bird watching and surfing are the main attractions. Four good surf breaks all within walking distance, and occasionally it breaks right in front of the property. Yet there is not a lot of foot traffic along the beach in front, since the main surfing areas are about 1 kilometer down the beach.
Multiple waterfalls are within walking distance.
Eco-lodges and hotels are in the area, so there are restaurants, yoga retreats, and civilization around, but still, mellow and all off the grid.
There is a main house on the property with a swimming pool. And now I've built this new, 2 bedroom jewel, 50 meters from the high tide line, and right under almond, strangler fig and guanacaste trees, the monkey bridge where 20 or more white faced, howlers, spider and squirrel monkeys pass daily.
This new home has a gorgeous view across the Golfo Dulce, and at times whales and dolphins play out front.
So many other highlights.

"OMG! This slice of heaven cannot be described in words. We have been to 17 countries in the last three years and had wonderful times, but this was the best of all!"
