Wunderschönes "European Cottage", eingebettet in einen ruhigen Garten, 5 km von der Innenstadt Charlestons entfernt, im Viertel DuPont. Sehr privates freistehendes, voll möbliertes Ferienhaus mit voll ausgestatteter Küche und eigenem Bad. WiFi und Kabel zur Verfügung gestellt. Großer Wohnbereich und separates großes Schlafzimmer. Zwei Queen-Betten / Bettwäsche eingerichtet. Waschmaschine und Trockner im Gerät.

Zwei Blocks vom West Ashley Greenway und dem Stono River ICW entfernt. In der Nähe historischer Gärten, West Ashley Medical District. Eine Meile von der I-526.

Der Raum
Das Cottage at DuPont befindet sich östlich des Highway 17 an der Wappoo Road am ehemaligen südlichen Ende des historischen King's Highway, der Boston mit Charleston verband. Alte Eichen flankieren die Straße, wenn Sie sich dem Grundstück nähern. Suchen Sie nach uns auf der rechten Seite, etwa drei Blocks vom Savannah Highway entfernt.

Gastzugang
Das Parken für die Gäste ist auf dem runden Teil der Auffahrt. Der Garten wird mit den Eigentümern geteilt, die auf dem Grundstück wohnen. Wir sind eine tabakfreie Unterkunft und nehmen keine Haustiere auf. Keine Ausnahmen. Das Haus ist ein völlig separates Gebäude vom Haus der Eigentümer. Es ist komplett privat und ist voll möbliert.

Perfect home base for getting around the Charleston area, just far enough from the downtown fray yet only a few miles in for when you want that downtown vibe. Spacious and clean upstairs unit with plenty of privacy, easy parking and easy access through the park-like yard. Good size bathroom with extra towels. Very large bedroom. Charlie and Rob are the warmest of hosts and super responsive. Great stay!

This delightful cottage experience is convenient (15-20 minutes) from almost all that the greater Charleston area has to offer including dowtown, Folley Beach and a number of Plantation and other historical venues. The attention to detail the hosts have went to in creating a unique apartment and garden to enjoy is remarkable. The garden is filled with shrubs, trees and plantings of countless variety blended together as a work of art featuring a koi pond near the center. While upstairs the apartment features privacy and peace and quiet with interesting decor and architectural features--with a comfortable bed, in a good sized bedroom high quality linens, dual sink bathroom and a well equipped kitchen flowing into a living room and dining area. Views of the garden from two walls of the apartment including into the upper branches of a large tree! The hosts are as available as you wish, and their recommendations that we followed for dining were spot on.

Charlie was a very nice host and very communicative throughout our stay. The biggest downside is the lack of privacy. The rental is a guesthouse above the owner’s garage. I don’t think the listing does a great job at portraying that. The listing mentions multiple times “privacy.” However, you share a backyard with the owners. The two properties are on top of each other. The inside was neatly decorated and clean for the most part. There were stains on the sheets and some towels were stained as well. I don’t think I would stay here again. It is very reasonable priced, and the location is ok. Not too far from downtown Charleston, and close to the airport which is very nice.

AMAZING stay at private cottage

I would highly recommend this space to anyone visiting Charleston. It was even better than advertised- the space is perfect and private. The location is within reasonable driving distance from everything! Charlie’s backyard is a gorgeous oasis and makes this rental even better.

Lovely home to stay. Only a few miles from anywhere u want to go.

Loved the property and the owners were very nice. Beautiful garden in the back to enjoy sitting outside, and the house was very modern and homey to stay at. Would stay at again and would definitely recommend.

"The Cottage at DuPont is more than just a place to stay—it’s a passion project three years in the making. Between 2016 and 2019, we (Charlie and Rob) re-envisioned and rebuilt every inch of this property, from the studs of the main house to the core of the lush gardens you see today.
Our backgrounds couldn't be more different, but they came together perfectly for this renovation. Charlie, a South Carolina native and former City Planner and Real Estate pro, brought an eye for design shaped by years in Miami Beach and Charleston. Rob, originally from Long Island, New York, spent his career as a VA Benefits specialist in Columbia, SC, bringing the precision and heart that makes this place feel like home.
We poured ourselves into making this space special. If you want to see just how far we’ve come, take a peek at the 'Before and After' photos in the laundry room—it was quite the journey!"

The DuPont Community, where the Cottage is located, is part of what is called "Close-in" West Ashley. It is just across the Ashley River Bridge from Downtown Charleston's Historic Districts, sites, restaurants and shopping. We are five minutes from the Avondale Entertainment District and we're much closer to the Gardens, State and County parks and historic plantations than you would be if you stayed downtown. We have excellent affordable restaurant options nearby. There are five grocery stores within 1.5 miles (including Whole Foods). In addition to the amazing West Ashley Greenway, our neighborhood sidewalks will connect you to a locally-owned compounding pharmacy, hair salon, local bakery and a cool Italian restaurant all within two blocks.

Uber and Lyft both serve our area. Off peak hours are not expensive and you can save yourself the cost and hassle of downtown parking and you can have a cocktail without having to drive home later. Once you're downtown there is also a free shuttle operated by the City of Charleston.
