Everything went well with are condo. The rap around porch was great and the little cooler came in handy with the ice packs in the freezer. Plenty of room with great sunsets at night. The was a little too firm but okay. A little noisy on the street but that was expected. I would definitely recommend the place.

Great condo

This is a great condo, clean & very well equipped. The views from the huge balcony are beautiful! We enjoyed the amenities, especially the pool and the pool table. When we arrived the beach was very sandy, but while we were there the surf came up with waves 12-15 feet high that took all the sand away. When the surf is high, this beach is way too dangerous for the average person to boogie board in, but it was fun to watch the experienced surfers and boogie boarders riding the huge waves right from our balcony. The only downside of our stay was that the park across the street is currently under construction, so not only couldn’t we use the park, but also there was a lot of noise from the construction. From what we saw, I’d imagine this construction won’t be done soon, at least a few more months. This was disappointing, but did not take away from our trip overall. We had a wonderful time & would definitely book there again.

Beautiful view but would not stay again

While the view from the lanai of this condo is beautiful, there are too many negatives for us to consider staying here again. We would have rated the condo lower due to the excessive construction noise across the street (which Knutson told us has been ongoing for well over a year and yet was never disclosed), but the owner handled our complaint acceptably. This unit is not air conditioned (which is in the listing); however, the fans that are provided are inadequate. They are painfully old (and very dirty) box fans that neither rotate nor sit high enough to properly cool or circulate the air. We specifically asked Knutson to provide better/newer fans since we couldn’t keep doors open most of the time because of all the (extreme) construction noise, but they didn’t even respond to our request. Additionally, we underestimated how noisy the road would be. This beach is frequented by the locals, which would have been fine were it not for the fact that it seems people greet by way of extended horn honking, revving their engines, and setting off firecrackers. All the homeless people living on both the beach and in vehicles parked along the beach added an extra layer of… interest. It might be considered free entertainment that we got to watch the police come by numerous times, one time even doing a complete person and vehicle search and confiscating drugs. I’m not sure our experience would be considered family-friendly, but everyone has different opinions. For us, the guest bedroom was also very disappointing. We have a 14-year old boy who couldn’t even fit into either of the beds. I understand that having the 2 single beds may allow for more guests but in cases like ours it really limits us. Additionally, the blinds could not be fully closed no matter what we did, so we ended up stuffing spare towels between the slats towards the bottom to keep the sun out, and to prevent people from being able to see the entire bedroom from outside. There are positives to this condo, of course. I felt compelled to write this review as I always read reviews thoroughly myself and found the reviews misleading. I now understand that Knutson pushes renters very hard to not say anything negative online, and to only communicate negatives with them directly. Given that this doesn’t allow prospective renters to book with full transparency, I think it is important that all information be made available online.

Tolle unterkunft

Wir haben unseren aufenthalt sehr genossen. Der blick vom balkon war sensationell. Ausstattung sehr gut, alles vorhanden was man brauchen kann - grundstock in der küche, genügend handtücher und strandtücher, beach chairs, sonnenschirm und diverse andere strandutensilien. Das apartment war sehr sauber. Leider fährt der lift nicht ganz hinauf und es gibt keine klimaanlage, mit den ventilatoren und geöffneten türen waren die temperaturen aber ok. Lage ist spitze als ausgangspunkt um die ganze insel zu erkunden. Sehr schöner strand vor der tür.

Amazing views!

An absolute gem that over looks Magic Sands Beach Park. The unit is recently remodeled and loaded with everything you need. We spent all our time here either on the balcony, at the beach, or pool. We didn’t play tennis or pickleball buts the courts are new. We stayed here for six nights and the time absolutely flew by. We have stayed all over Hawaii and this is one of the best spots. Just a note that they call it “Magic Sands” for a reason. When we stayed the beach was wide and full of white sand, a few days after we left there was high surf and it pulled the sand back out. Which makes the rocky entry a bit more challenging. Also a favorite local pastime is to cruise Alli Drive with some serious tunes blasting at all hours. It makes for the best people watching during the day but at night I would put in ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Overall this place is the perfect Kona hangout spot. When we make it back to Kona this will be the first unit we check for availability. 10/10 Recommend!

A great spot on the Kailua-Kona Coast

We loved our stay at the Surf Rider condo! The check-in was easy and the property matched the description exactly. It's located right across the road from Magic Sands beach, which is great for swimming and boogie boarding, and just a mile from the best snorkeling beach on the coast at Kahalu'u Beach. It's a corner unit so it has a huge lanai with a great view, and also right across the street from Magics Restaurant, where we had a great meal on our last night. The property was very clean with lots of beach gear. Can't wait to come back!

Great Lanai, and unit layout. Nice pool, and park across the road. Excellent wash,dryer, frig, etc. Not too far from town. Excellent restaurant a half block away. Poke Shack ( best in Hawaii) is just a mile north.Negatives. Needs a new king master bed. No internet by the pool. Two sets of stairs to the unit.

Great location to be away from the business of Kona, but close enough to take a little drive to enjoy the shopping and night life. No beach at Magic Sands, but we were able to drive a short ways to find one. Everything from check in to check out was perfect and the unit was everything as advertised and more.

We had plenty of room and it was nice having two full bathrooms! No bugs, very clean. You can hear the waves crashing! Only downside was no air conditioning, but we knew that going in. It does get hot in the late afternoon when the sun is setting. My son was able to set up a make shift putting course on the large wrap around balcony! There was also a nice pool/hot tub and gas grills on the property! Overall A+ for us!

City life in Kona

Loved our stay. Kitchen had basics plus lots of cooking utensils (need an ice cream scoop). Pool, sauna, and ocean across the street as advertised. Condo comfortable and even luxurious with two bathrooms. Very loud vehicles and music well after midnight especially on weekends. View from the lanai is the best part of tthe place!

Great Vacation Spot!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great stay at White Sands Village. Property has a great location right in front of the beach. Unit is very clean, up to date and well stocked. Management company was good at communicating throughout our stay. This unit is right in front of the action, so you have great people and car watching. This does make the place a bit noisy, with the waves crashing and the car stereos driving by. We enjoyed the action, but some may not. Overall a great unit.

1st Hawaii Trip

Perfect location and has an awesome view of the ocean. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking items you'd need on vacation (not food). I would stay here again for sure!
