Amazing vacation

Peaceful Waterfront Retreat

We loved this house! It was spacious and clean, with the bonus of an extra apartment downstairs that gave everyone plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was fully equipped, very practical, and comfortable for cooking meals at home. The beds in the master bedroom were especially comfortable. Communication was clear and easy, and expectations were set straight from the start. We really appreciated being right on the water, away from the tourist crowds, but still just five minutes from the grocery store and other conveniences. Fishing off the deck was a highlight and having beach gear available in the garage was another bonus! Just a great stay all around.

Awesome house

Perfect house for bigger family or people needing their own space. Perfect fishing house. Caught trout and redfish in the back. Fish cleaning station, green light and everything you need to have your own fishing adventure. Just bring a pole. I got a ticket parking on the street. Being told there was no parking on that side of the street would of been a little helpful but also my fault for not noticing the signs. Overall this property was great and we plan on booking it again soon! I would like to be able to use the lift if possible and bring my boat. Next time!

Great alternative to the busy island!

We had a wonderful time! We brought our elderly uncle and 30 year old son, the apartment below was the perfect set up for them. We also have 2 older dogs and the set up for them was perfect too! My only complaint is the camera in the boat dock area. We found a paddle boat in the garage, my husband and son put it in the water (paddling and fishing off that thing was the highlight of the property for me). We went to explore the area and when we returned the property manager was on property (in the middle of a pandemic) removing it from the water...for “liability reasons”. The self propelled paddle boat is reserved only for the owners. We felt so creepy that they were watching us that we never went back down to the boat dock, we fished from the top deck from then on. Don’t touch the paddle boat and fish from the beautiful dock upstairs and you should be fine.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It was nice upstairs but outdated down stairs. Smelled a little like mold down stairs and the refrigerator’s freezer smelled like fish. The place was clean as much as it could be, the wooden deck had some fishing trash but nothing major The outside was a little dirty but I know the owners cannot control Mother Nature. We also had multiple visits from feral cats and nosy neighbors. We headed to the beach on the second day and when we returned, the ac broke down. That Texas heat turned the temperature inside from the 70s to the 80s real quick. We all had to go down stairs to stay cool. A little hard for me and my uncle because the stairs were tiny spiral style. Something probably bought on an Asian website. The chat service on vacasa is a joke. They all send the same answer. I do want to thank Jd who was the only person that took mercy on us and tried to help. He advised to open windows but some were hard to open or did not have mosquito nets so we just left them down. The maintanace staff did not come in until past midnight. They said it was something electrical and the ac did not cool the place until past 2. The property manager advised me to call the next day for compensation but I have been getting the runaround. It’s been 4 days now and they keep ignoring me. I called today and the representative told me she had nothing to tell me. I will update after this week.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY

Stayed at Harbor Island Drive, Port Isabel. Booked thru VRBO in March for a 5 night June stay. Was redirected to Vacasa. While booking the photos and information posted looked good and matched our wants and needs. This is an expensive rental. Upon arrival we were given a door code without meeting anyone. Our first discovery was that the air condition unit was broken. Port Isabel/South Padre Island in June is between 90 & 100 degrees. Called the Vacasa national phone number. They took my complaint and then contacted the local Vacasa "General Manager". Air Conditioning was repaired within hours. Not a good start. We drove seven hours from our home to this property towing our jet skis. We partially decided to rent this property because it had a boat dock and boat lift. Those items were included in the photos and written description. Upon arrival we discovered a sign and ropes preventing access to the private boat dock stating "Keep Out". Called and spoke to local "General Manager". He said the owner doesn't want people using the boat dock. Was finally granted permission to use the dock but not the boat lift. Not a good start again. Then we discovered that the Hot Tub that was in the original photos and description was gone. "General Manager" says the owner took it out. I just checked and the original photos of the hot tub are still listed on VRBO. Another reason we booked this house was because it had photos of a nice two car garage in which to store your stuff. Photos of garage are of an empty garage. Guess what, the owner has large multiple watercraft in the garage with signs on them stating don't touch. Our expected storage was greatly reduced and not what we expected based on the photos and description. Guess what? Those photos are still being used as of a few minutes ago. Some other smaller issues are ROACHES in the kitchen, light bulbs burned out throughout the house. We still ended up paying the full listed price. We did get a voicemail from the General Manager asking for a good review. Said he needed a "Good Quarter".

I loved the fact that it was on the water yet still close to walmart and shops. The beds were very firm, which I was ok with, but some may not like it as much. The house is very clean and nicely decorated. TVs in every room.

Excellent family vacation house. My husband and son really enjoyed fishing right off the deck.

My family really enjoyed our stay the house was big enough for my family of 5 equipped with board games a fully loaded kitchen. Walmart and Heb a few blocks away along with restaurants and gift shops. Honestly 2 days of our vacation we just simply enjoyed the house so much we called and extended our original dates. The electric did go out I placed a phone call to the property management they looked into it while I was on the phone it was an power outage in the area. 20 min later the power was back on with a follow up call from the manager. I love that under the circumstance and that being completely out of there control they did keep open communication to insure we where comfortable 🥰

WE LOVED THIS HOUSE!

Harbour Island house was a breathe of fresh air. Everything was so well maintained, you can tell that the owners take pride in how it looks & presents to their guests. The living room, the bedrooms all the kitchen items available to us, it really felt like you could just move right in & everything was provided. The hot tub was a nice surprise & afternoon sunsets out on the deck was lovely. We really enjoyed the proximity to the marina just at the other end of our street so we could launch our kayaks & so many restaurants & services were just around the corner. We really liked the touches of artwork & various historical maps throughout the house. Plenty of parking available in front of the house & we used the empty double car garage to safely store our kayaks. BIG thank-you to the owners for allowing use of their fabulous property. Also, BIG thanks to the Vacasa staff (Christina, Stevie & Amy) who did a great job of getting our group relocated in speedy time & with minimal hassle to our family, your efforts were greatly appreciated. We look forward to booking this house again & to working with the Vacasa experts who provided excellent customer service. Many thanks from El Minions.

Nice getaway with water access

Perfect home for vacationing with older children. We enjoyed fishing off the dock, soaking in the hot tub and the easy access to town and South Padre beaches. Kitchen was spacious and views from the living room were nice. Would recommend.

Great Location, Good House

This is a nice house in an awesome location. Right on a canal, close to bait shops, Walmart, and HEB. Only a 6-10 min drive to South Padre Beach access. The house is nice, but there were a few large cockroaches inside and out to deal with each day. We also only got one roll of toilet paper for the four day trip, so bring your own! I loved having a washer and dryer in the house. The neighbors were also super nice.
