Our family stayed at Ocean Daze for one week in February, and we had the most wonderful and relaxing time. Both garden and villa were absolutely amazing! Each room is lovingly furnished, and everything was in excellent condition (fridge and dishwasher brand new). The beautiful private beach is only a few steps away, and walking over to Savannah Sound (perfect for kayaking, turtle watching, or just hanging out on the property's dock) takes less than 2 minutes. Miranda was a great host - she had excellent suggestions for restaurants and activities (a highlight for us was a half-day snorkeling trip with Captain Cally whom she recommended to us). Miranda checked in several times per day by text to make sure everything was alright. When we needed an extra paddle for the kayaks, she provided one the next day. She had a welcome gift waiting for us on arrival, and brought us coconut drinks There are a few house rules to follow, mostly aimed at preserving energy and minimizing garbage, which was perfectly acceptable given that Eleuthera is a small island with limited resources. Overall, this has been the most beautiful vacation property we have been to, and we would be very happy to visit again in the future.

Incredible Island Getaway

We absolutely loved Ocean Daze, the property was beautiful with access to the beach steps away. The host was wonderful who made sure we had everything we needed including lots of recommendations for touring the island. The house accommodated the four of us with plenty of room to spread out. The wrap-around deck was amazing to wake-up and enjoy coffee while the sun rises over the ocean.Ocean Daze is a 10 out of 10 and definitely recommend to anyone that wants to stay at a private island getaway.

Stay Away from Ocean Daze!

BEWARE! We left after 2 days. The photos are not a depiction of the homes current state. There was so much dust, dirt, grease & grime throughout that it triggered an allergic reaction in my son even after we spent several hours cleaning. The linens & towels were soiled, dead bugs in the bed, curtains stained, layers of grease & crusted food on stove & fridge, mold everywhere. Everything was dated & did not work. Trash from the sea as “decorations” inside and out. The games, bikes, toys, are 20+ yrs old & crumbling, there were no “amenities” as expected or communicated. No generator when the power goes out. The homeowner is present & is intrusive. She controls the nest air remotely (78-87F). Texts constantly asking to turn off the lights, unlock doors (after we fixed broken lock) for her to enter the home. There are devices throughout that can be set for active listening. Rusty screws poking out of the deck, furniture rusted & dirty. Loud construction on both sides of the house with workers looking directly into the tiki hut. The beach was filled with sargassum & bugs & unusable. My kids were digging up piles of buried trash on the property. Her island services are a scam for more money and I found better vendors on my own. After all of this she still refused to refund for the days we did not stay. In all our travels we have never encountered a rental as dirty & disappointing as this one & strongly advise anyone to reconsider if you are planning to rent with Miranda.

Wonderful stay!

The home is located on a secluded private island with beautiful native landscapes. We loved walking on the pristine pink sand beach that goes on for miles. Our family enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and kayaking around the mangroves. Miranda our host was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Her home was immaculately decorated and well equipped. We would love to come back!

Ocean Daze , what a fantastic place to stay

We and our daughter with 3 kids (age 8 , 6 and 2 ) spent 10 marvelous days in this amazing property right at the beach. Miranda was always available and attentive to our needs. Wonderful host! We enjoyed the peace, the deserted beach, the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves. We could leave the older kids exploring the property with no problem and being Windermere Island entrance guarded 24 hrs. by security, gave us an additional safe feeling. Definitely best place in Eleuthera!

Absolutely perfect in every way!!!

This was our first time to this amazing island and all we can say is WOW! Miranda is hands down the very best hostess and held our hand the whole time in preparing for our spring break trip as a family of 6. We came with our 4 children ages 4-11 and everyone had the very best time. We used her amazing property as our home base for many adventures (snorkeling, Spanish Wells, Schooner Cays, fishing, surfing, ALL the things) and also fit in a couple of days in between to relax and take in the beauty. Her beautiful home is in such a safe area, we were able to really feel comfortable in letting the kids roam and explore all while sipping our coffee or cocktails on the porch or beach. The kids loved the paths she has around the property and every evening we ended up under the tiki hut enjoying drinks and playing games and having family dance parties. The beach and water are incredible! We have been to many different islands and traveled a lot and this is the bluest water I have ever seen. The paddle boards and kayaks were such a bonus and our family loved having access to those during the week. We were able to have dinner delivered by a local chef and that made everything so easy. The club is quaint, but such a great option for dinners and a pool for the kids. We even played pickle ball one afternoon. The property that spans the sound and the ocean, allowed us to never be bored and longing to stay longer. Miranda thinks of literally everything and is so kind and helpful. There is literally hardly anyone on the beaches and it was just what our family needed to get away and connect. We saw a million sea turtles and can't wait to return. The beds are comfortable and the main area is perfect for entertaining your family. The view is out of this world! Better than we expected. Also, the amount of little spots she has created to sit and enjoy the view and a good book are endless. It really is like having your own resort for just your family. The fishing with Denny was a total highlight. If enjoying nature and the outdoors with your family and taking it slow away from it all in an incredible and exclusive place is what you are looking for this is the place for you! The gardener even brought us coconuts and we got to taste the very first papaya from her grove. Our only regret was not being able to stay for two weeks. Seriously, book 2 weeks if you can! One week for exploring and adventuring and another week to just relax! Thank you Miranda!

An amazing property with so much convenience.

What a trip! Our extended family of six, aged 7 to 85, stayed here for 11 nights. From before we arrived, during our stay, and after we left, the owner was extremely helpful. Communication with her was easy, and she provided a ton of helpful information from renting a car, tours, restaurants, to you name it! If you are looking for a vacation where you hang out on one of the best beaches I have ever been to, build sand castles, kayak in the calm ocean, kayak in an even calmer sound with turtles and other marine life, snorkel near some sand flats at low tide, swim in a heated pool at the club the owner belongs to, or drive short distances for other great beaches, then this is the place! Just think of what you would need to do at other rentals if you wanted to kayak, use an SUP, or have a beach basically COMPLETELY to yourself! We were there during Spring Break and we LITERALLY saw nine people passing by on the beach the ENTIRE time! And we were at the beach every day! We even saw a four foot wide Southern Stingray on the Atlantic side in the evening once! There are four to five good restaurants within a 30 minutes drive, and one of them you can kayak to in 10 minutes! There are biting insects though, so if you have big reactions to those just make sure to bring extra of your favorite repellent and anti-itch. However, the owner has all of that in her amazingly stocked house! And speaking of the house, it is awesome! It has everything you need to cook meals, watch streaming TV or DVDs, and even work, if you really have to! The WiFi was ~10Mbps at the time of this review. There is even a waffle cone maker! If you are a kitesurfer, bring your kite gear! If you need to be connected 24/7 just stop by BTC in Govenor's Harbor on your way down and get a prepaid SIM. I could go on and on, but overall we had an amazing vacation and would definitely go back to this rental.

Beautiful week in a private paradise

Our family (parents plus 9, 12, and 16 yo) had an amazing time in this beautiful home on Windermere Island. We loved the privacy of the beach in front of the house. It is pristine and you literally do not seen another soul. My daughter and I enjoyed long walks on the beach and never saw more than a handful of other people on our 4-5 mile walks. We also had fun exploring Windermere on the bikes that come with the house, and paddling around the "front garden" in kayaks and paddle boards, looking at sea turtles and other wildlife in the clear, calm waters on that side. The boys had a blast spear fishing on the reef just off the beach, and caught us dinner quite a few nights. We also enjoyed using the Club for several meals, which was very convenient as it is just down the road. The house itelf is incredibly comfortable and has everything you might need. There are many outdoor spaces and hammocks for relaxing, and movies, puzzles, and games for inside times. Miranda was a perfect hostess, there to greet us when we arrived and show us around the property, and available to us and instantly responsive for any questions as they came up during the week. She and her husband have put so much into this property and you can tell it is a labor of love. The really enjoy sharing this slice of paradise with guests who will cherish their time in this remote, special place.

Refined and an endless secluded beautiful beach

Miranda was an incredibly responsive, generous and sweet host. We felt completely taken care of. We had the most beautiful beach to wake up to, an incredibly refined, comfortable home, and absolutely no one around. The place was well-equipped for different kinds of activities. Snorkels, find, kayaks, beach gear, toys, etc. A fully equipped kitchen, many many outdoor areas to sit... Fantastic Beachfront location.

There are two beautiful beds in the main house that sleep 4 people comfortable or 6 packed in but then there’s a room under the house at the back of the garage with no windows and a musty smell that accounts for half of the sleeping quarters and at the premium price this is not my first choice. Plus the additional charge pp over double occupancy was not cool.

Great holiday stay at Ocean Daze Estate

Miranda and John’s beautiful home on Windermere Island was a pleasure to stay in during our family’s New Years holiday in Eleuthera. Fantastic views, great location and expansive grounds on the ocean and on Savannah Sound did not disappoint. Spacious and well appointed home as well as multiple outdoor seating areas allowed for plenty of family time in comfort and style while also giving you the sense you were at your own private retreat. Being located in Central Eleuthera we were able to take advantage of a number of activities within an hour drive both north or south. We had a great time with the local Fishbone Tours adventure around the island which is highly recommended where they picked us up at our dock. Also rented a boat for private touring and fishing for couple days at the Ocean Daze dock. Was able to take advantage of a fantastic fishing charter with Captain Cally in Davis Harbour - also highly recommended. Visited Cape Eleuthera Institute and Island School which had an impressive coral reef conservation and restoration program. Also was able to make it to North Eleuthera to visit Harbour Island and enjoy the beautiful beach while touring in a rented golf cart. Non stop activities, but the highlights truly are the beaches - everywhere - highly recommend a beach book for the island which helped us navigate what was an adventure in driving to each beach without street signs. Overall great trip to Eleuthera and look forward to our next visit!

Amazing!

What a beautiful home! Ocean Daze is on the best part of the island. The beach was by far the prettiest I have ever seen and I travel a lot. Miranda and John went love and beyond to make sure we had the best trip. The pictures just can't show the real beauty of this magnificent home! What a wonderful trip!

Fantastic Property

Miranda is extremely responsive, gracious, and will help you customize your vacation. She has access to the best resources on the island. After exploring Eleuthera for the past week there is nowhere else we would have preferred to stay. If you are looking for adventure there is much to do. The people native to the island are genuine and sweet. We enjoyed hanging at Windermere and Ocean Daze most of all. The views from the entire house are stunning. There is enough equipment (snorkeling, kayaks, fishing. etc.) to keep you occupied. The house is furnished in a casual and elegant manner that beckons to be used. There are so many different spots for sunning, shading, reading, coming together as a group--whatever your preference might be. The best seat in the house is the porch hammock. Also, we didn't discover until the last evening, sitting out on the deck with all the lights turned off that you will be treated to the most magical night sky, so dark, illuminated only by the stars and moon-- this is truly worth the price of admission. If you are lucky enough to spend some time at Ocean Daze you won't be disappointed!

Paradise on the porch!!

Spent one week at Ocean Daze, and what a great week! Besides the great weather and beach, the house was Awesome! Everything you would want was at your fingertips. Miranda and John were the perfect hosts. Know all the ins and outs of the Island. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to relax!!

Top VRBO Property!

Absolutely amazing home, and owners! The home and property are breathtaking. The house is very private, extremely well stocked (everything you could ever need is available), and incredibly clean. We are quite picky (we have a very successful rental on VRBO as well), and Ocean Daze exceeded every expectation I had. Miranda's attention to detail (before our stay and during) definitely taught me a thing or two about top notch rentals, and ways to improve my own rental business. The grounds are even more beautiful than the photos. In addition to the natural vegetation, the owners have put a ton of time into the landscaping. There are numerous little nooks that have been carved out to get away from the group, and spend time relaxing with a book on a hammock. It is also mature enough that the one day we had bad weather (the wine actually blew out of my cup when I tried to walk on the beach!), the huge trees provided enough protection we could still sit on the patio and enjoy. The beach is very private, we walked one day for about a half mile, and only saw one other couple. The sand is soft, and truly is pink. As far as the interior of the house, no expense was spared on the linens, kitchen items, or recreational "toys". We didn't even scratch the surface of included amenities like bikes, beach toys etc. during our stay. In short, you will be thrilled with this rental. We've traveled extensively, and rented many homes off of VRBO, and this is our favorite to date. Thank You Miranda for your hospitality, we will absolutely be back!!

We discovered Eleuthera about 14 years ago. We had no idea that anything like this existed and just a one hour flight from the US. It is a totally unspoiled, un-commercialized island and it was 'love at first sight'. There are rolling hills, and lush tropical foliage throughout the island which is surrounded by the most incredibly beautiful, crystal clear, azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Historic settlements and friendly locals add to the flavor of this truly unique island experience.
