Spring is Here!! Come Enjoy the Great Outdoors at Poplar Lodge!

I was shocked as well! I never got the first complaint from them until I read it on here. But, I guess one complaint is not bad out of 4 years. We do try really hard to make sure everyone has a great stay at our cabins. Anyway, thanks so much for your review. Check out our off season specials. We look forward to seeing you again!!

I hate that you did not enjoy your stay at Poplar Lodge! We are a family owned and operated business, and feel we extend ourselves above and beyond to ensure our guests are pleased. We can only do this if we are directly notified of a problem. After reading your review I felt the need to contact you and address some of your comments I'm only allowed so many words in this response so let me be brief. This cabin was built with log slats and Perma-Chink NOT sheet rock. Web site advertises "custom- made counter tops and table. Never mentions granite. They are not plastic! They are Concrete. The cabin does sit on 18 acres of privately owned property. The pictures that are on web site were taken directly on-site at the property, they were not edited or photo shopped. I can see where the place looks different in the winter as compared to the spring when the pictures were taken. I think you might have missed looking in the drawer under the stove because that's where the cookie sheets were along with other skillets. But, we did replace some of the cookware. "DVD player never playing a whole movie" I have no way of knowing it doesn't work unless it's reported. I wish you would have called the office I would have brought you a new player out and you could have enjoyed your movies. "Ping-pong table out side" VRBO website states "Take the opportunity to enjoy some family time playing billiards, air hockey or ping pong or grilling out on the deck" "Grill ran out of gas" the grill has a full tank at check in. I'm not sure if the tank leaked or if the valve was left on, or exactly what happen but there again if you would have called the office I would have made sure you had a functioning gas grill. "Loaded dishwasher" I remember discussing with you check in time being 4:00pm, and you expressing you would like a early check in as possible, so my intention was to get the cabin ready as soon as possible to accommodate your request. That's the reason I didn't wait to for dish washer to finish cycling and unload it. This was discussed at check in and your exact words were " Oh don't worry about it Thank you for getting us in early! I try very hard to answer all questions asked and give as much information and detail about the property as possible prior to reserving. The first time I get any notification of your unhappiness was when I log into my VRBO account a week after your stay. If you would have contacted me I could have addressed your complaints.
