We are conveniently located less than three miles from Interstate 35 and 10 miles from the Silos, Magnolia Market and most of Waco's major attractions. Our favorite spot is just three miles from us at Cafe Homestead and Homestead Craft Village with its cluster of artisan craft shops. We encourage all our guests to make time for breakfast or lunch at Cafe Homestead, one of the finest farm-to-table restaurants in Texas, as well as a walking tour of the craft village to see the artisans working in the Potter's House, the School of Woodworking, the blacksmith shop, gristmill, Fiber Craft Shop, Basket Shop and cheese shop.
Songbird Haven is located in a quiet country setting surrounded by farms and small homesteads. The cottage is located on a circle driveway at the entrance to our property. Friends and neighbors travel the paved country road next to the farmhouse. We live on the same property behind the farmhouse with our grown son. We also have a tiny house on our property, which our son hosts through Airbnb. While Songbird Haven offers lots of peaceful privacy, you may see a guest drive by or one of us mowing, pruning trees, feeding the chickens and ducks and such.
We are surrounded by paved country roads that makes our farmhouse easily accessible by car. Aside from the Silos and Magnolia Market, the Dr. Pepper Museum, Baylor football stadium and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame are 12-15 minutes away. Waco's Cameron Park Zoo is one of the most beautiful in Texas. Cameron Park itself, located along the Brazos River, is a favorite destination for mountain bike enthusiasts, as well as hikers. The Waco Mammoth National Historic Site is just six miles away, too.
Swimming, fishing, camping and water sports abound in and around Waco. We are 10 miles from the BSR Cable Park and Surf Resort, 11 miles from Lake Waco and 17 miles from beautiful Lake Whitney, a 24,000 acre reservoir.
