Das Home on the Ranch Guest Cottage befindet sich im schönen Kettle Valley am Kettle River. Umgeben von 20 Hektar Wiesen und Feldern, ein paar Hühnern und Kühen. Heiße, trockene Sommer und verschneite Winter.
Sie werden ein Bad mit zwei Schlafzimmern und einem Bad haben, mit allem, was Sie für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt benötigen.
Voll ausgestattete Küche mit Kühlschrank, Herd, Geschirrspüler und Mikrowelle. Winziger Holzofen in der Küche für zusätzliche Gemütlichkeit.
Das Hauptschlafzimmer blickt von der angeschlossenen Terrasse auf den Fluss. Perfekter Ort für den Morgenkaffee.
Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügt über ein Doppel- und ein Doppel- / Zweibettzimmer.
Wohnzimmer verfügt über zwei bequeme moderne Sofas, TV, Radio, Gesellschaftsspiele und Bücher. Netflix und WiFi verfügbar.
Mieten Sie Kajaks oder Kanus oder schweben Sie im Sommer den Kettle River. Ruhig und friedlich.
Wir sind Hobbyzüchter, die selbst angebautes Vieh, Garten und Hühner für Eier anbauen. Im Kühlschrank warten ein Dutzend Eier auf Sie.
Es gibt einen Grill, eine Feuerstelle und einen Außentisch mit Stühlen zum Entspannen nach einem ganzen Tag.
Wir sind 45 Minuten von einigen der besten Weingüter entfernt. Golfplatz entlang der Straße und Skihang nur 30 Minuten entfernt.

Great little get away

The Little House is great, Lanny and Debbie were great hosts. The turkeys and chickens entertained the kids, they also loved the water right behind the house. Great little getaway from daily life, just what we needed.

Great area and perfect management

Very idyllic setting by Rock Creek. Quiet, surrounded by nature and short distance to many outdoor activities. The cottage is very tastefully furnished, clean and provide great base for exploring the area. The hosts are friendly, helpful and fast responding to requests. One of our best stay.

A little bit of heaven

A wonderful retreat away from city life. A time of quiet reflection on a farm and river with wonderful big sky, sights and sounds of animals and fantastic hosts. Accommodations was everything you could need or want for a home away from home.

Serene perfect place to stay

Anyone looking for a comfy well appointed place in a serene setting with the nicest hosts imaginable should look no further. Highly recommended. Spent 3 nights here with my 10 year old son and we couldn’t have asked for more. 10/10

Life on the River

All of us (5 adults) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cabin by the river. The cabin was well equipped and contained all the necessary amenities that made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The hosts were friendly and helpful, even offering us farm fresh eggs in the morning. Although there was no ac the cabin remained cool throughout the day and night. This was an excellent getaway!

Above & Beyond

The cottage was fully stocked with everything you need for a week long vacation, or longer really! The owners went above and beyond to help us feel welcome, share about the area and make sure we always had everything we needed! The acerage is absolutely beautiful! So quiet and relaxing. We loved hanging out, and learning about the chickens! The property has access to the river, a fire pit and BBQ. Our family, with 2 teenagers, highly recommends this property!

A thoroughly wonderful experience

My husband and I spent a week here in early September, and couldn't have wished for a lovelier time. I counted 44 bird species from the back deck, which overlooks the beautiful Kettle River. We swam in the river, played golf at the excellent course nearby, cycled the rail trail across the river, and canoed in Jewel Lake. The cottage is absolutely clean, and utterly charming. Debbie and Lanny are delightful hosts, as are their 7 curious turkeys. We're already planning our next visit.

Great place to stay

Beautiful cottage right by the river. Fully stocked kitchen with a BBQ right outside. Having a morning coffee on the back deck while watching the river go by, and having an afternoon snack at the front watching the cows graze and the chickens roam was great. Debbie and Lanny are excellent hosts, very friendly and more than happy to share tips on what to see in the area. There were some nice hiking opportunities very nearby, including a great hike up to a viewpoint of the valley, lots of deer to see around there for sure. Definitely would recommend! Not to mention the dozen fresh farm eggs they graciously provided. Delicious! Matt

A Home Away from Home

Wow! The house and location is absolutely breathtaking. The chickens that walk around during the day are adorable and the cows that are occasionally seen in the field is a lovely surprise. The float down the river is super relaxing and there is a lovely mix of sun and shade so there is no chance of overheating. From the property there is also the option to do a crisp morning dip into the river to start your day. The fresh eggs that are provided taste outstanding and are the perfect morning meal. 10/10 will be staying here again.

Peaceful country getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the home has been lovingly renovated and is well appointed, we had everything we needed and appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail. The location is beautiful and very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting under the stars around a bonfire, cycling along the KVR rail trail and visiting the local farmers market. Thank you Lanny and Debbie!

We really enjoyed our stay at home on the ranch in rock creek. Floated on the creek, went for some casuals strolls and visited the local market. The cottage was perfect and quiet and right on the creek.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

We enjoyed an amazing stay at Debbie & Lanny’s cottage. The home exceeded our expectations and was updated and very very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs that we’re waiting for us upon our arrival. Our kids had an absolute blast with the chickens! The owners also had a small inflatable pool set up with some water toys for them to play with, and a small tricycle which even our older kids had fun with. Us adults enjoyed our morning coffees (and peace & quiet) on the back deck overlooking the river. The river was a refreshing way to cool off from the heat in the afternoons. This was our first time visiting the Rock Creek area and we had a lot of fun exploring what the area had to offer. We spent some time in Greenwood on the playground as well. The playground zipline was the main attraction for them! We will 100% be back and next time hope to extend our visit beyond just a weekend. Thanks again for your hospitality Debbie & Lanny! Lovely, quiet stay in the country.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The river was perfect for a relaxing and refreshing tube float and swim. The kids loved the chickens, hens and turkeys! We are sad we only discovered Rock Creek Trading Post on the last day, very delicious food and coffee! Lanny and Debbie were great hosts and we were impressed with how clean the cottage was. We wil be back! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet getaway with close enough proximity to Osoyoos (45 mins away).

Amazing Hosts

Our family of four really enjoyed our time at Debbie and Lanny's "Home on the Ranch". The house was a great size and well appointed, right down to fans to help keep the cool breezes flowing during the heat wave (we were amazed at how cool the house stayed - all the trees!). The farm eggs, pancake mix and syrup were wonderful touches! We normally travel with a bin of our own items from home (ie - frying pan, cooking utensils, dish towels, etc.) since not every rental is created equal; we really didn't need to open our bin in this house. Very clean and in great condition. A solid house and fantastic property. Our two young boys had a blast being on "a real farm!", running around the wide open spaces, chasing chickens, being chased by turkeys, swimming in the river, catching minnows. We all enjoyed floating and paddle boarding either from the house directly or from a short drive down the highway. The surrounding country roads were perfect for after-dinner walks and bike rides. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Debbie and Lanny were amazing hosts making sure we had everything we needed. They even put out toys for our boys and filled up a little kiddie pool for them! Of note, there is a second rental unit (small studio) on the property, immediately next to the cottage. We don't remember this being noted in the description at the time of our booking and while it wasn't a major concern for us during our stay (we were typically out most of the day and everyone was respectful of privacy and noise at night), there were a number of different guests during our week in the house, which does take away from the overall vibe a little (i.e. minor annoyance having new neighbors arrive almost each night while relaxing on the back deck star gazing and enjoying peace and quiet). For those who value their privacy and are looking for true seclusion, this may be something to consider. A great stay overall and we'd love to come back! Thanks!

We live on 40 acres of land. The cottage is on several acres backing onto the Kettle River. It was the family home while growing up in this area. In 2015 we started to renovate and make some changes. We decided to try vacation renting and have enjoyed hosting people from all over the world!
We have a small farm with cattle, hay vegetable garden and a few chickens, a couple of cats, Yorkie and lots of visiting wildlife.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We built our home on the neighbouring ten acres. This farm was in the family since the 1940's. Being right on the river has been wonderful for birds, beaver, river otters, eagles, deer, elk and moose. The coyotes can set up quite a howl on some nights. We never know which critter will be visiting but it is always interesting.
