Quiet and fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean and the listing was more or less accurate to what we would be getting. The only things I would say to be aware of (not bad per se) is that the pool is a lot smaller than I perceived it to be via the pictures and the outdoor shower causes flooding within the driveway because area under the house is graded weird. We would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Beached Buffalo! House was perfect size for our group of 6. Well stocked could have easily accommodated another same family. Well stocked and very clean. Beds and furniture very comfy. Loved the close proximity to the beach entrance. Walkway over dunes was easily manageable and the life guard stand was a huge bonus! We reserved an early check in, home was ready even before the allotted time! We loved every minute of our time at Beached Buffalo,looking forward to our return next summer.

This house is in the perfect location. The beach was only steps away, which made it super easy with small children! We also loved how close Timbuck II and the Food Lion plaza was. The house itself could use some updates, but it was perfect for our family and we are looking to rent again next year!!

Great Location

This property could use a few minor updates, but it’s overall very nice. It was a little snug with 12 people, and while the pool was a fine size for the kids, note that it is on the smaller side. The proximity to the beach is spectacular. It was a lovely stay. Highly recommended for beach lovers!

Great place for families.

Great place for younger people. Difficult for those who can't walk far or climb lots of stairs. The house was spacious and clean. You can hear the waves on the beach. You just cant see them.

Comfy Home near the Beach

Our family enjoyed the house we stayed in. It was clean cozy and was a great place to relax for our vacation. The kids loved the pool, horse shoes and basket ball net. The adults enjoyed the hot tub and the many balconies to relax on while still being able to keep and eye on the kids. We all loved the close proximity to the beach. The house came fully stocked with board games, more kitchen gadgets that we expected, which was fantastic. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice place to stay on vacation.

Truly enjoyed our stay. Plenty of items in the kitchen. Loved the pool and hot tub. Nice neighborhood. Another love seat type couch would be nice over the chair that is in there for added seating. A lot of us had to sit in the kitchen chairs which was ok. Most of the time we were all over the house, or on the porch etc. A pull out couch bed would be nice instead of a regular couch. We had a situation where we needed to have one guest sleep on the couch due to the bunk room being all girls and we didn't want the boyfriend in the same room. No complaints at all just suggestions. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your home! We had a great, long over due, family vacation!

Beached Buffalo is an amazing location!

This is our 2nd year in a row staying at the OSP-1 Beached Buffalo. We usually try for beachfront property, but you can't beat the 84 steps to the public beach access. We love how how close it is to Timbuck II, food lion, and of course light house bagels. House was very affordable and perfect for families on a budget. Wonderful pool and hot tub. The lock to the pool wasn't working so I called and Shoreline OBX came out the next morning and fixed it. Thank you again for another year of wonderful memories.

Our stay

We stayed here June 12th thru the 19th 2021. The house has a great location and short walk to the beach. We sent them pictures of some stuff that was broken and was damaged right away and they were quick to offer to send someone out to fix it but we said no need just wanted them to not think it was us. Management was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed out stay with our dogs and loved the beach.

Family Bonding Together

This vacation was exceptional for our family because we have never had a vacation whereby all our adult family members were together. We've had other vacations but it always turns out that one member of our family could not make it for one reason or another. This home was so comfortable. Everything we needed to enjoy ourselves was there and ready to be used. The pool was so awesome and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay especially the location of the home to the beach, stores, restaurants, and walking trails. Just a get place for a vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the beached buffalo! We were traveling with three generations - ages 4 - 69, and everyone loved the house, the pool, and the stroll to the beach (couldn't be easier!). So many thoughtful details - drawers and drawers of board games, booster seat, tons of books, laundry baskets, a selection of pool/beach toys . . . felt like it was OUR beach house! Needed service once during the week, and the maintenance folks were FAST, super friendly, and very professional. The kids are begging to return - not just to the outer banks, but to the beached buffalo. Thanks for having us!

The pool and hot tub made our week

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at the beach. The house is much like it is described and so close to the beach. They neighborhood had tons of dogs and was fairly quiet. We loved the pool and hot tub. There were some minor issues, namely the vacuums were not emptied for several stays before us and I had to pull out a ton of hair and dirt. Overall though, it was a good spot for a family vacation and the house has ample space to stretch out.

Kids were lying on floor in bedroom and when they got up they were covered in dog hair (we didn't bring a dog). It wasn't a big deal but my brother in law is allergic

Much needed get away

This property was perfect and met our needs. It was clean. Right amount of space. Great location. Well stocked. Everyone loved it. The hiccup was the property management company. We had no bed linens or towels upon arrival. When communicating with the company, they said all were there and to look in the closets. Which we had already done. Once convinced that we did not have the items, the sheets and towels were delivered. The folks who delivered were so nice. Also, I asked manager if gas grill was there. I was told yes. There isn’t one. Also, there is no tiki bar or dart board. Nevertheless, the property itself was great. We would stay again.

Excellent

The house had everything we needed for a successful vacation. The location was super convenient. It was just one block away from the beach, and a short drive to the Food Lion for last minute grocery runs, which we did often. My favorite features of the house were the hot tub and the outdoor shower. I must have spent every night in the hot tub, and the outdoor shower was great for rinsing off the sand and saltwater from the beach. I really appreciated that it was heated too. The pool was small, probably good enough for children, but just enough room to stand around in for adults. As for the interior, The rooms were spacious and the bathroom showers had great water pressure. The beds were alright at first, but my back was not particularly happy after the week. The main living space was great to hang out in all together. The wifi was fast enough to stream movies, but was a little slow with a lot of users. We had a couple guests trying to "work from home" from the house, and their video calls got a bit laggy. Overall, had a great experience. I would definitely recommend.

Overall this house was decent for the money. The location was nice in regard to the beach, but I will warn if you, if you’re family struggles with stairs, this house nor this beach is the right pick for you. The house does not have an elevator and the beach access has multiple sets of stairs in order to gain access to the beach. If you plan on cooking, you will need to bring your own set of non stick pots and pans because there are none that work in the kitchen. Aside from the cookware, the kitchen was fully stocked in all other areas. One downfall was the laundry being outside in a little storage room. Upon opening the door, cockroaches dispersed on multiple occasions. We also killed cockroaches on the stairwell. The pool was decent but much smaller than anticipated and doesn’t fit more than 4 people comfortably. The grass area where the horseshoe pit is located was not mowed until the end of our trip. We had a minor issue upon arriving and maintenance arrived to tend to the issue within minutes which was super impressive. They volunteered to come spray our house after we reported the cockroaches but we declined because there wasn’t a “right time” that fit our schedule. It was just unfortunate that the issues wasn’t tended to prior to us arriving.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were only able to stay three nights because it had rained heavily and flooded the pool area, the entry into the house, and the parking area. So, we liked that it was a 3 minute walk to the beach, the pool, hot tub, and hammock... the layout was great for our group of 7 adults and 3 children. We were not able to play the horseshoes or cornhole due to the flooding. The house is the lowest in that area so when it flooded it would contaminate the pool. We rented the house through shoreline obx rentals and they were great. They came right over when I called about the flooding... they worked hard all morning to find us another place that had all of the same amenities (or better). They helped move the items well. I would rent from Shoreline obx again in the future because they saved our vacation with their quick action. Although, the property would’ve worked great for our family I probably wouldn’t stay here again because I would be concerned about flooding.
