Sie können grillen, während Sie die Lichter der Stadt im Süden und die malerischen Berge im Norden betrachten.

This is a lovely property with many wonderful features. The hosts were lovely and helpful. The house is a bit dated, but a 1970’s retro is in keeping with the neighborhood. The kitchen had the pay forward spices and cooking supplies. Much better than “Ole Mother Hubbard” the cupboards are not bare. It was very comfortable and the sunsets are unbelievable. Great location. We will be back!

House is located in a nice quiet neighborhood with a good view overlooking the city to the south. It's a large home with many seating areas inside as well as outside by the pool. The pool deck is a great place for an afternoon cocktail. You can tell from the pictures and other reviews that the furnishings are dated, but everything was clean and comfortable. The sunken shower in the main BR is unique with the tree! Hot water to the bathrooms will take a while to arrive, but eventually does. The host was responsive to questions I had and I would stay here again.

A great place to spend the winter!

We really enjoyed this property! We love the area. The house was very comfortable. It is dated, but we happen to enjoy these furnishings, especially the antique lamps. The artwork was lovely as well. The owners were so nice and very gracious hosts. We would stay there again.

Beautiful home in Catalina Foothills

Absolutely beautiful property with stunning views of the Mountains and of the city! Very close to the local grocery and restaurants. Not very far from Sabino Canyon, Tanque Verde Falls and Sajuaro National Park East. Extremely easy check in and hosts were great! If I’m ever in Tucson again, I would definitely love to stay again!!

This is a beautiful property. The neighborhood is very nice and I was happy to be close to my daughter’s home. We encountered a few minor issues, but they were dealt with quickly. The property manager responded to any questions I had immediately. I hope this property is available The next time I come to Tucson.

The house was very nice and well layed out but could use some up dating. It is well situated for going out hiking and other excursions. It is also close to shopping and restaurants. We happened to go to Tucson when it actually snowed there…..unexpected but we still had fun.

Thanksgiving family reunion.

9 family members from Michigan, 4 from California. The couples stayed at my home, I stayed with the 20 somethings in the rental. Lots of room, everyone had their on space. The kids loved the view and pool, one even braved a dip. A great time was had by all! Yhank you Yvonne and Billy!

The owner was very responsive and helpful regarding a couple of small issues that arose during our stay. Unfortunately the overall property is very dated with a number of maintenance/safety issues that were disappointing.

Our home is a great value for the current nightly rate. Look at the pictures. It is a true representation of the property. This traveler changed her travel plans several times and was not entitled to a refund. However I was nice enough to honor her reservation at a later date. Perhaps sour grapes.

Tucson sunsets

We had a wonderful time at this Tucson very large home and rented for 2 months. The sunsets over downtown were spectacular even with unfortunate weather. The house is in need of some updating and is being done per the owner as funds become available. Anyone owning a home understands. The beds in the bedrooms were very very comfortable with brand new mattresses. We loved this neighborhood also….very quiet, beautiful homes, and nicely paved roads. Thanks to Yvonne and Billy for sharing their home.

We pulled up to the house and it looked like it was abandoned. Entering the house we were greeted by dead cockroaches in many rooms and food on the table. The owner was dismissive ("expect cockroaches in the desert") and VRBO gave us the run around. We would have fled to the nearest hotel but didn't want to eat the cost of the house. We did stay the full time and were reasonably comfortable. But the outside is derelict to the point of being dangerous and the 80s carpet (yes, I grew up in a house down the street so I know what the original house looked like and when changes were done) was hard to walk on without cringing. This is all to say, the photos on the house are deceptive, the reviews seem inflated, and though the neighborhood is wonderful, prepare for a very dark, dangerous and dated experience.

Wow! My home may be dated, but the pictures are representative of the actual house. They are not professional photos. I have a pest control contract with Truly Nolen. I cannot control if you see a dead bug during your stay anymore than I can control any other desert wildlife you may see or not see. This lady must be very unhappy, I am very sorry she didn’t enjoy her vacation. This is the 1% of the public that doesn’t appreciate this beautiful home in the Catalina Foothills. If you look at my other reviews, you will see that 99% of our guests love and enjoy their stay and appreciate our hospitality.

Family visit

Disappointed the pool had no heat,we planned on a few days to relax. Also the stairs rails to pool were very unstable and some of our party couldn't make it down around the over grown cactus. Many of the plugs in the house either didn't work or the plugs fell out of the wall. The fire pit had no gas and was unable to be enjoyed because of scary stairs. Nice property in need of update

We don’t heat the pool because it would be extremely expensive and we would have to pass the cost to our guests that may or may not even use the pool. Diana’s family broke our garage door and didn’t mention it until I asked her what happened? The outlets are switched outlets. They all work. I have it set up where you hit the switch and the lights in the room come on. There is also a three-way switch in the hallway. The fire pit may be out of propane. You can buy propane at the Walgreens. This property is built on a mountainous lot. There are stairs that go down to the pool. The pool is built off the side of a cliff that was backfilled in side a birthday cake wall. Being in the foothills on a mountainside lot has its advantages and disadvantages. Advantages are the mountain, sunset and city light views. Disadvantages are tight driveway and parking along with stairs to the pool.

Location, Amenities, Decor

This home is an amazing place to get away for some quality relaxing time. There are groceries and restaurants close by, however a short 15 minute drive further into Tucson opens up a plethora of amazing options from budget friendly to elegance. The views from the home are spectacular and the rugs and paintings of the home provide a very warm feeling that more updated "modern" environments lack in my opinion. If you are wanting to stay in a home that is updated in every sense, "ready to sell", and perfect in every way this may not be for you. But if you are looking for a beautiful place to meet up with friends and or family and spend some time in a great neighborhood with a lovely pool and even lovelier views, this is the home for you. This home has been described by some people as "lived in", I however wouldn't hesitate to rent it again on our next visit to Tucson, provided Yvonne and Billy would have us back. We really enjoyed our stay.

The good, the bad and the ugly

The good: the view! Great outdoor space right outside the living room and below by the pool; the location, up in the foothills, very convenient location. The bad: this house is really tired. Hasn't been cared for / kept up in a long time. The ugly: the place was really dirty. Dog hair on furniture, orange carpet with Rugs over it, pretty sure hadn't been cleaned in a while. Light fixtures were full of dirt and dust, toaster oven hadn't been cleaned after many uses. Grill was filthy. Bathroom faucets were crusty. Every closet and drawer had junk in them. Wow! Guess Mary didn’t like my house. Very sorry that she wasn’t happy, Good news is she doesn’t have to come back. Please look at the pictures. This house was built in the 70’s and is not newly remodeled. I clean the house myself because I want to make sure everything is perfect for my guests. My husband and I would really like to remodel the house but we enjoy the property very much just the way it is.

This property was as described. The pool is beautiful and even though it was too cold to actually enjoy, much to my grandchildren's dismay, our family spent lots of time in the pool area. Come to find out, most people do not heat their pools in January in Tucson as it is extremely expensive. The property owner led us to believe that heating the pool was possible, but after my cancelation date had passed we found that it was not ever going to be heated as some major repairs were going to be needed in order to make that happen. The barbecue grill needed special attention as well. The propane tank attachment was leaking and had to be monitored or your propane was going to disappear rather quickly. Similar issues with the fire pit table. It looked nice but needed mechanical maneuvering to get it to work. Coffee pot needs to be replaced and some plumbing issues needed to be addressed but we still had a wonderful stay. The beds are all comfortable and there was plenty of linens and towels. There are even two large sofas that will work as beds if needed. The house is awesome but has been seriously neglected for some time. Thank goodness my husband is good at fixing things and making them work. That is a requirement when renting this property.

If you read our description you will see that the Pool is Not Heated. I told her I would look into heating it for her but due to an unexpected death in our family I was unable to get the work done. Our house is a very nice value for your money because it is not completely updated otherwise the price would be considerably higher. The BBQ has been updated and is in excellent condition and the propane tank doesn't leak and never has to my knowledge. We recently replaced the coffee pot. The knob broke off on the fire pit Table. It can be turned with pliers. Just like your home may occasionally have problems, our home occasionally has problems. We love being hosts and think we offer a wonderful foothills home with city and mountain views in a very quiet and safe neighborhood for an extremely discounted price.

Several unique features set this property apart. A few years back, we installed a striking copper-colored metal inline seam roof, lending the house a contemporary edge. Additionally, we undertook a complete remodel of the pool and patio area, resulting in a visually stunning transformation. The pool now boasts a sleek blue glass tile finish, complemented by a color-changing light system and a luxurious purple flagstone deck.

Further enhancing the property, we recently renovated the bathrooms and installed a new AC unit for added comfort. While the kitchen retains its original 1970s charm, it remains fully functional, equipped with stainless steel appliances. However, we have plans to elevate the kitchen's aesthetic next summer with an upgrade project in the works.
