Wonderful Getaway - Perfect for Multiple Families!

Loved this property. We had four families, and plenty of room. Each couple had a private room and private bath. Kids shared the bunk room, one queen bedroom and the third floor loft. Hope to come back soon!

Spring break 23’

This property is in the perfect location. A short walk to the beach on a dead end street with very little car traffic so it’s safe for kids. The house was great with plenty of room for our whole group. The outdoor area has enough room for a big group to relax, swim and have meals outside.

Perfect property for our extended family, 17 of us

6 spacious bedrooms, perfect for multiple families. Felt like a bed and breakfast. Everyone had their own room with tv and a bathroom. Common room, and kitchen shared. Was just perfect.

Very nice!

Be cautious with this one. The home needs lots of TLC. We rented this for our family Christmas and were disappointed with the property.The central air downstairs is controlled by owner. Initially, I had reached out to the rental management company (Ocean Reef Resorts Vacation Rentals, Destin Fla,) to confirm we could control the temperature and was told yes. The fan in the upstairs bedroom rocked so hard we didn’t use it in fear it would fall. The outdoor furniture was not clean (table and chairs),a few of the kitchen pans were in poor condition and even flaked off into our food and the house had a terrible smell(like fish). Several of the TV’s were old with no streaming or ability to log in to apps and one didn’t work at all. Each seemed to have multiple remotes and very confusing. The house is in a perfect location and the gazebo with the TV was our favorite (it worked). The trash was not picked up at all until I called at the end of the week when it was too full to add the trash when we were cleaning up to leave.I was so disappointed in how things were and even asked to move to another property and was told no. Never again! Take time to read the reviews and get names of who you talk to.

Enjoyed the stay

Pictures were a little misleading, but great location - probably 800 ft from beach entrance. My only complaint was that no beach supplies were provided. We had children and had to buy equipment to go to the beach (ie umbrella, chairs, sand toys for kids)

Great courtyard, location, and house

We had three families staying in this home, plenty of space for everyone. The plus for this home was direct access to the heated pool and huge patio right in front of the house. Other homes had the pool behind the house and none had a patio nearly as large. A 1 minute walk with no streets to cross put you on the white sandy beaches. Had a great time and would recommend.

Love the Courtyard - heated pool

Several things that made our trip: We had five children under seven, four generations staying in this home. This home has direct access to the heated pool from the front porch - other homes you have to go outside and around to the back. The padio was perfect for early morning coffee with my parents and grandchildren and late night swims. The beach was an easy 1 minute walk. Would book this one again.

The location was great, close to beach, but the house could use some update.

The location was great. It was a short walk to the beach, and we had 3 babies under 1 years staying. We loved the outside area with the pool and the lights! The house itself was missing a lot of stuff though. There were no baking sheets and no oven mitts. There were only about 5 coffee cups that held 1/2 cup of coffee. Half the outlets didn’t work half the time… Overall it was fine because of the location and it housed our big family.

Close to the beach - great for families

“Under the Sea” was perfect for our family of 10 adults and 3 children. The pool was convenient when the littles needed a nap and mom and dad couldn’t be at the beach plus it was great for a cooling dip after a day at the beach. The video game kept us occupied on rainy mornings and late nights. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed and 6 bedrooms/5 baths were perfect for the five couples and 3 kids. We were able to check-in a little early which was nice for several that got to town first. The property is just a few steps from the boardwalk that leads to the private beach (private for the neighborhood). Staff was easy to reach when necessary and the check-in/check-out process was handled smoothly through text messages and the property’s website.

Great Location

The property was in a great location and very close to the beach. The outdoor patio area was very nice and was great for the size of our family. The house was spacious and slept 8 adults and 6 kids with no problems. The first floor definitely needs a deep cleaning. The children's feet were black by the end of each day because of the floor being dirty (not from being outside). The rugs in each room need to be tossed or deep cleaned. Many were falling apart, and you could see the dirt on them. Bathroom fixtures were loose as well as ceiling fans. On the second floor, the cable/internet wires and boxes were hanging out on the mantle. The pool heater did not work when we were there, but we were refunded our money for this. Overall, the house needs a really good deep clean and the first floor could stand a fresh coat of paint from wear and tear.

End of summer

Disappointing. Pictures don’t show true condition of property. While proximity to the beach is nice, the street was flooded all week making it difficult to get there without wading through nasty water. Furnishings and interior of home are in need of repair / replacement. Cookware very low quality….we actually went out and bought our own to prepare meals. Also had to buy and replace numerous light bulbs throughout. Will not return to this property.

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price

Our experience at this property was far from what we expected. Out of the five bathrooms, only two had hot water, and the first-floor king room didn’t even have running water until we had to fix it ourselves. The water pressure was terrible—if two showers were in use, it barely trickled. Despite requesting a fix for the hot water issue twice, we never got a response, leaving us unable to use two bathrooms that we paid for.The house also lacked basic cleaning supplies, so we had to purchase our own just to maintain cleanliness during our stay. Additionally, we paid for the pool to be heated, and while it was great on the first day, by the last day, it was freezing—almost like it had been turned off even though we paid for the entire stay.On the positive side, the beds and blankets were fine, and the location was great, but overall, the experience was disappointing. Given the issues with maintenance and lack of response from management, this stay did not live up to expectations. I expected much more for the price we paid.

Great Stay

We wanted to do something different with family over the holiday this year and this was the perfect place. It’s hard to tell from the satellite view exactly which property is Under the Sea, but it’s slightly tucked back from the road (a good thing) yet only half a block or so from the boardwalk leading to the beach. The property was super clean, the floor plan well laid out, plenty of space for the nine of us, and the loft with the retro arcade machine is was a perfect hideout place for the kiddos. I played a lot of Galaga in the 80’s so I was compelled to add a few high scores on that one. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, but my advice to travelers who like to cook would be to bring extra kitchen trash bags (three or so were provided which we went through); a cheap knife sharpener (dozens of knifes, but not a sharp one in the bunch); and there’s only a Keurig coffee maker so if you exist on an IV drip of coffee upon waking and a Keurig isn’t your jam then you’ll need to consider what to do (ie. bring/buy filters, ground coffee, a coffee funnel, mini drip machine, etc.), or pop down to the Starbucks just two minutes away and buy a box of hot coffee each morning (what we did). Overall though, a great property walking distance to the beach; I’d definitely stay here again.

Family Christmas getaway

We range in age from 3 to 71, and everyone enjoyed the comfy beds and warm pool! Cooking at home went smoothly and the patio & grill were great. A short walk to the beautiful beach made our vacation complete!

House good, street flooding problems.

House was good and well equipped. Outdoor very nice. Only complaint is flooding in front of house and would not rent again unless drainage is fixed.

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the home and outdoor area provided. The street is county maintained and the drainage can sometimes get backed up when heavy rainstorms occur. Thanks, everyone I talked to was kind, respectful, and always knew how to help. My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week “Under the Sea” it has a great yard, very short walk to the Beautiful beach and a pretty house with lots of room! The house needed some surface cleaning upon arrival and maybe needs a bit more upkeep or update in general. A broom or swiffer would have been great! Overall it’s a terrific place.

Beautiful Property

1st time in the Destin, Fl area, our family vacation was wonderful. The property served our every need, close to the beach, pool for the kids and grandchildren, large enough house that everyone had their own space, nice outdoor sitting area to share our family time together.
