Das Schwandt Cottage im wunderschönen Gills Rock ist der perfekte Ort für Erholung, Verjüngung und Entspannung. Das Cottage gehörte einst einer der Fischerfamilien von Door County. Es wurde sorgfältig restauriert und zu einem der malerischsten und schönsten Cottages in der Gegend umgebaut.

Gills Rock liegt im nördlichen Door County, abseits des Trubels einiger anderer Städte im County. Es ist deutlich leiser mit weniger Verkehr. Es ist sicherlich möglich, nach Schwandt Cottage zu kommen und eine Woche zu bleiben, ohne abzureisen. Es ist einfach schwierig, nach Ihrer Ankunft abzureisen, unabhängig von der Jahreszeit.

Die Aussicht ist hervorragend! Vom Wohnzimmer, der Terrasse, der Küche und dem Privatstrand aus können die Gäste die wechselnde Stimmung in Green Bay, das Kommen und Gehen der lokalen Fischer, den unglaublichen Sonnenuntergang, der am Ende des Tages immer eine außergewöhnliche Skyscape bietet, und das Meer beobachten gelegentlich ein Blick auf einen Frachter, der an der Tür vorbeifuhr.

Ein Mindestaufenthalt von 3 Tagen ist ab dem 14. September bis zum 14. November erforderlich. 30, 2019. Bitte überprüfen Sie unseren Kalender für die Verfügbarkeit. Im April und Mai 2020 ist ein Mindestaufenthalt von drei Tagen erforderlich. Ab Samstag ist eine Mietwoche im Juni, Juli und August 2020 erforderlich.

Beautiful and relaxing

My husband and I stayed at this lovely cottage for our 25th wedding anniversary. The cottage itself is charming with everything you need to feel right at home. The views are incredible, especially the sunsets, which we enjoyed each evening. We hiked, (we particularly recommend Peninsula State Park), took the ferry to Washington Island and enjoyed exploring the nearby towns. Beautiful location

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the sweet cottage in Gills Rock. The bay is just a few feet away and there are many chairs outside to relax in while one watches the sunset. The home was clean, comfortable, well decorated and stocked with everything one might need. The location provides privacy and serenity as the home is north of the Door County hustle and bustle.

The perfect getaway.

We loved staying in Georgi and Mike’s adorable cottage! The location was perfect for us…remote & peaceful on the water, Charlie’s Smokehouse with amazing smoked fish, bike trails, DC boating tours, gift shops and Maritime Museum all within walking distance. The cottage was very clean and very well equipped meeting all of our basic needs. The bed was quite comfortable. The hosts are very accessible if needed. After staying at various locations along the peninsula throughout the past 10 years, we quickly felt that we have finally found the area (Gill’s Rock) and cottage that best suits us! We prefer peaceful, calming settings within nature. The sunsets, bayside water, and outdoor sitting areas provide just that. Yet cherry orchards and cute little historic villages are within easy driving distance. Yes, Georgi and Mike’s sweet little “Schwandt cottage” offers all the things necessary to allow us to drive away feeling fulfilled. Looking forward to return trips! Thank you so much!!

My teenage boys and I really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Even though the weather was cold and rainy, inside was super cozy and the gorgeous view of the lake right outside the front window made us feel like we were still enjoying the outside. The location of the cottage allowed us to explore places we may not have normally ventured to and it was only a 15 minute drive to Sister Bay/Ephraim/Fish Creek.

Perfect Peaceful Get Away

This quaint cozy cottage was the perfect peaceful get away we needed. The water view was breathtaking and added just the right touch to our fall vacation. This Gills Rock location also offered a quiet but beautiful background of amazing fall colors . From the outdoor fire pit to the indoor fireplace , we were able to enjoy our visit while staying warm and comfortable. Charm and the most amazing views!

This was our second visit to Schwandt Cottage and it was like coming home again. The charming cottage has everything you need for a cozy and comfortable stay. We made most meals in the adorable kitchen, but also enjoy being close enough to walk up to the Shoreline for drinks and dinner. It’s hard to leave when you have the best view in Door County right out your back door. Evenings by the fire on the shore, watching the fabulous sunsets, cannot be beat. Our friends saw our sunset photos and said, “It’s so beautiful, it doesn’t even look real!” Communication with the owners is top notch. This sweet cottage has our hearts!

A lovely, classic cottage with charm and great views

This is one of those places I almost hate to give a glowing review because I want to keep it all to myself. But then the owners are so lovely, that I simply must. (Even sent a lovely welcome package with gifts) We booked this jewel box as a short (too short) stay to get away from our home because we couldn't take our usual fall trip to Maine. Let me tell you the views in the part of Door Co. rival Maine and being steps away (literally) from the quaint village of Gills Rock was a bonus. The place is small, but with plenty of room for 2-4 people. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen well-equipped which was great because we weren't eating out much, and also love to cook. The outdoor areas have lots of seating and yes, the sunsets are wonderful. We were delighted to be able to see that the dock for the passenger ferry was almost right next door so we could watch the boats come and go. Oh, and nights were star-filled with the Milky Way visible as well as the occasional falling star. If you are looking for some huge, modern vacation home experience, this isn't for you. But, if you want to experience a sense of place and live a little of how Door Co. used to feel, this is the place for you. We can't wait to stay here again!

We looked and looked for the perfect location to purchase our Door County vacation home. Finally, when we found our cottage in 1998, it seemed to be the perfect place to spend time with our family and friends. However, it needed lots of work because it was quite distressed. So we rolled up our sleeves...and began the overhaul! Gills Rock is peaceful...and beautiful. In 1999, our first guests came to visit and since we have many guests each year from all of the United States....some returning year-after-year. We hope that you will consider our cottage your for your next Door County vacation.
