Alle brandneuen Wohnzimmermöbel, geschmackvolle Dekoration, gemütlicher Essbereich mit Sitzbänken und Fenstern und das geräumige Hauptschlafzimmer haben gewölbte Decken mit asiatischen Vintage-Rudern. Andrew Gaths Design von Seattle half uns bei der Einrichtung, es ist warm. komfortabel und klassisch. Genießen Sie Ihr Abendessen oder Ihren Morgenkaffee auf der großen Südterrasse mit herrlichem Blick auf das Wasser. Der ebene Hinterhof verfügt über Obstbäume, einen Garten und eine Feuerstelle aus Stein für entspannende Abende im Freien. Highspeed-Internet und Rocu Direct TV in beiden Schlafzimmern. Wachen Sie mit einem Sonnenaufgang über dem Salish-Meer auf. Der ebene Hinterhof hat Obstbäume und eine Feuerstelle für die abendlichen Gerüche. Ihr Haus auf der Insel ist Teil einer kleinen, engmaschigen "Homestead" -Gemeinde - ursprünglich ein Angelcamp um die Jahrhundertwende. Es gibt 3 Vollzeitnachbarn und 3 gelegentliche Wochenendgäste - daher ist hier mehr Platz, um den Frieden der Inseln zu genießen. Wenn Sie eine gute, altmodische Whoopee-Party auf dem Deck bis Mitternacht planen (und die Sie gelegentlich nicht mögen), ist dieser Ort wahrscheinlich nichts für Sie. Ton trägt und dieses Haus hat Nachbarn. Ich habe mehrere Vogelhäuschen auf dem Hof, und wenn es ruhig und still wird, fliegen Vögel aller Art direkt auf Sie zu, zusammen mit unseren ansässigen Doug Fir-Eichhörnchen, Inselhirschen und Waschbären, obwohl wir Sie bitten, keine Hirsche oder Waschbären zu füttern . Anniversary getaway

We had a lovely stay in Doe Bay. Rob was a fantastic host, communicated diligently, and ensured that we had everything we needed. Orca's has some incredible restaurants, hiking, kayaking, and views. It's an easy place to get around and it was an ideal time of year to visit. The location is fairly remote, which was exactly what we wanted. Night bring many deer onto the road so it was necessary to go slow and be very cautious driving to and from the house.

Fantastic!

I cannot say enough about Orcas Island, this home, and the owners/hosts. Wonderful all the way around. While the property is a bit out of town, it is not that far and is in a lovely spot. Great views. The amenities are nice, with great beds and bathrooms, a wonderful deck to relax on, and a well supplied kitchen. Also, there is a beautiful garden to enjoy. The hosts are generous and very easy to work with. If you are going to Orcas, this is the place to stay.

Beautiful home

This is a lovely home with a beautiful view. The owner was easy to reach and helpful. The outside lounge area is fabulous and heated/covered so can use anytime. It is very peaceful on this side of the island but a bit farther from town if you want easy access to restaurants and groceries. We had a very relaxing getaway.

Beautiful views, peaceful surrounding, and well-appointed house

This was a wonderful experience. Our family enjoyed coffee and talks on the large deck, a well-appointed kitchen with everything we needed, lunch (fried halibut, fries, and cherries) at the local Buck Bay Restaurant, boating tour, and a 1000 piece puzzle at the house. We also had cool nights, great weather, and a fun hammock to boot. The hosts are outstanding; a lot like family.

We had a great time

We had a wonderful stay and felt right at home. The beds were very all comfortable (we used both beds and the pull out couch) with luxurious linens. The kitchen was well equipped and the views were outstanding. We had 6 people at the house (one age 5) and felt that there was plenty of room. While we didn't get to see any Orcas, we saw plenty of deer, birds, and a porpoise.

We are already looking forward to a trip back!

The location is perfect (my daughter and I experienced a beautiful humpback right at the bottom of the hill), it is secluded without being too far from town and the views are breathtaking, day and night! I can’t say enough good things about Rob and Kim either, they are amazing hosts! We had a pretty rough trip coming in and they were more than accommodating through it all. Lovely Home and Hosts on Orcas Island

The house was perfect for our stay on Orcas Island. The size and layout of the house was perfect for 3 adults, each having our own sleeping area. The home is perfectly clean with every upgrade and amenity you need in all rooms. You have a wonderful view of the water from the front patio and many windows. We also thought the location was great as it gave us lots of opportunity to explore the East side of the island and park, but with an easy drive to both Eastsound and the ferry. Rob and Kim are perfect and lovely hosts and I would highly recommend staying at their home on Orcas!

Located adjacent to Doe Bay Resort on the far side of Orcas Island with peekaboo water views (no direct access). Good sized house with amenities including large heated deck, laundry, wifi and streaming, full-size fridge and freezer, and fireplace. Owners live on their boat and offer trips as an add-on via text msg. They addressed a surprise maintenance issue quickly. Detailed checkout requirements make the value for money and 10am checkout a little tricky, but a nice spot overall. Our family of four had a pleasant stay.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful home!

We spent three wonderful nights at Robert and Kim's home at Doe Bay. This beautifully decorated and very comfortable home had everything we needed for a fabulous stay on Orca's Island. The views of the ocean from the bedroom, kitchen, and deck were beautiful,and we enjoyed the local wildlife, too. The fully-upgraded home had plenty of room for all six members of my family. Robert and Kim also kept us updated on information regarding ferry schedules, traffic, and local excursions before we arrived. (We highly recommend Shearwater Kayak Tours!). Thank you, Robert and Kim, for everything!

We had such a wonderful stay here! The house is clean, comfortable and has such beautiful and unique decor. The view from the porch is breathtaking. The beds are super comfortable and we loved the heat lamps on the porch in the evenings. We had a lot of fun with our kids using the telescope to look for whales, seals and otters. Doe Bay is a perfect location- not too far from everything but also very remote. Rob and Kim were always available to answer any questions and were very kind! We will definitely be back someday! Lovely Island Retreat

Rob and Kim's place was the ideal location to celebrate my 50th birthday. My family joined me for the first couple nights, and our teens were entertained with the games and TV options. There is a kayaking outfit (Shearwater) that runs a tour out of Doe Bay resort - highly recommend and so convenient! Hiking, lakes, and shops/restaurtants are within a 20-30 minute drive. After my family left, I enjoyed days of long days of hiking book-ended by lazy mornings in bed with a cup of coffee and evenings on the deck with a glass of wine while taking in the amazing view. The cabin has everything you need to be comfortable, including a well stocked kitchen and lots of extra towels and blankets. Hosts are responsive and very helpful. If you have time for a massage/bodywork while in town, Iona at the Healing Arts Center is a miracle-worker!

Zu Gast bei Kim and Robert

Kim is a K-1 teacher and Rob is an RN, we both love adventure, traveling the world, great food, gardening, mountains and the ocean. We have lived in Australia teaching and nursing, biked across Cambodia into Vietnam and hiked the jungles of Costa Rica and Mexico. Buying a boat and traveling the Inside passage to Alaska is on our bucket list along with more trips around the world on our bikes.

It's always been our dream to own a home in the San Juan Islands, or goal is to retire some day on Orcas. This little cottage has history, was built in the mid 40's, has a Native American burial ground on the neighboring Doe Bay resort grounds. Were right next door to Doe Bay resort and Spa and Otter Bay where we wheel our kayaks down a path to the private beach, or to walk over the cafe for a fresh made pastry and cup of coffee, they also sell my new favorite Kambucha!

View View View The front of our home is lined with BIG windows show casing the Salish Sea, neighboring Islands, Ferry traffic, Rosario Straight and the never ending wildlife. Orcas Is is listed as one of the 100 places to see before you die book. Orcas swim right next to the rocks right in front of the house!!! and a family of River Otter live near by. Moran St Park hiking and Mt Biking is a 1/2 mile walk from our home. We love being next door to Doe Bay resort with their little grocery store, restaurant, Spa and music in the summer months. You can launch your kayaks, canoes, paddle boards from a private beach that is accessed via a 5 min walk from the house. Kayak rentals is 15 min from our home. Whale watching tours leave daily from Orcas Island, and the Orcas have been seen right in front of our home on many occasions as are the resident river otters and the occasional Grey whale. This home is so cozy, the contractors spared no expense and are gifted in detailing wood trim, butcher block counter tops, lighting, rugged dark wood plank flooring and the beach vibe shiplap ceilings. The cathedral ceilings in the master bedroom are the perfect backdrop to our SouthEast Asian antique oar collection. Walking into this home has a very calming affect that exudes warmth. My bird feeders are always full and attract local and migratory birds of all sizes. I have quality binoculars and a spotting scope on tripod to bring all creatures in close, along with laminated ID cards that describes what your looking at.
