Versteckt hinter reifen Olivenbäumen auf einem sandigen Eckgrundstück in bequemen "Southern Shores", ist diese traditionelle Strand-Box nur 300 Meter oder 5 Minuten gerade zu Fuß zum Strand. Captains Quarters ist 1000 Quadratmeter praktischer und einladender nautischer Vintage-Charme, alles, was eine kleine Familie auf nur einer Ebene zu einem erschwinglichen Preis braucht. Custom-Baum-Decking bietet private, aber lässig draußen zu entspannen und zu speisen, auch ein Kapitän Ausschau mit einem Hauch von Ozeanblau zwischen Dachlinien. Unter der Hütte, durchdachte Annehmlichkeiten gehören die kompakte Carport, 2-Stand-Strand-Dusche, Deluxe-Fisch-Reinigungsstation mit Waschbecken, voll Wäsche und eine überdachte Strand Staging-Bereich mit Bank.
Die Gäste des Captains Quarters haben privaten Zugang zu den hervorragenden Annehmlichkeiten des Meeres und der Sound-Community, darunter ein sekundärer "familienfreundlicher" Strandpark mit großem Privatparkplatz, Duschen und Jons, Picknickplatz und Fischteich. Unsere Gäste haben auch Zugang zu einem privaten Soundside Park mit optimalen Sonnenuntergang und Wasservögel Aussicht, eine Soundside Marina mit Bootsstart und einige hervorragende Radwege, die das gesamte Gebiet vernetzen. Captains Quarters befindet sich weniger als 3 Meilen südlich des denkwürdigen Reiseziels von Duck Central, Heimat für viele beliebte Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Weltklasse-Spas und Wassersport. Ein beleuchteter Zebrastreifen an der Ecke des Dolphin Run bietet einen sicheren Zugang zum Strand rund um die Uhr. Das Captains Quarters bietet direkten Zugang zu den Fahrrad- / Fußwegen, so dass unsere Gäste so aktiv und gut verbunden bleiben können, wie sie es gerne hätten, und dennoch einen zentralen und gemütlichen Rückzugsort haben. Drei Beach-Comber-Fahrräder stehen zur Verfügung.
Parken in der kreisförmigen Laufwerk ist ausreichend für bis zu drei Fahrzeuge oder zwei mit einem Bootsanhänger. Das halb Hektar große Anwesen ist voll eingebürgert, bietet aber einen seitlichen Garten Platz für Hufeisen oder Cornhole Play.

We all loved the house, it was homey and reminded us of our favorite aunt’s home. Very well stocked with basic necessities and ice cold water to drink upon our arrival. The only negative thing is when it rains the stairs are slick.

Very Nice, Great Value

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at the Captain's Quarters. Comfy, clean, and lots of nice extra touches. Beach access was close (0.2 mile) and straightforward. We'll definitely consider this home for future trips to OBX and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-value stay in Southern Shores.

Awesome Place to stay!

Loved it here. Don't be fooled by is vintage appearance (which was my favorite part)! I grew up on the SE coast and this house has all the original charm of the beach! Unbelievably clean and stocked out of this world! Super quick walk to the beach too, never over crowded! Highly recommend!

Exactly as described. So many extras like bikes, beach equipment, etc. We really enjoyed our stay, a short walk to the beach. The house was clean when we arrived, AC worked perfectly, loved the beachy decorations, really made it feel like home.

Perfect and rustic

We loved this place! It had everything we needed and then some. Quick short walk to the beach, but there's a wagon to help with the haul. Plenty of beach items (chairs, umbrella, toys, bikes, etc.). There were six of us (3 teenagers and one pre-teen) and we had plenty of space. I enjoyed my morning tea on the upper level and the porch swing was great for relaxing at night. The shower underneath was very handy for beach returns. We would definitely stay again!

Family Vacation

We had a short family vacation. We enjoyed the house. There are three good-sized bedrooms, a nice living area, and a well supplied kitchen. The house is extremely clean. The house is right on Rt 12 but surrounded by trees so you don’t see the highway. The back yard is wooded and private and there are several decks. It is a very easy short walk to the beach.

Restful retreat at OBX

Absolutely wonderful and welcoming seaside home!! Very clean and comfortable environment. A short walk to the private beach, not crowded and beautiful sunsets and sunrises!! Great place to shore fish, minigolf and see the National Park’s Wright brother’s museum,,, and centrally located to great dining and shopping,,, close to Nag’s head pier!!! We had beautiful weather and sunshine every day!! Looking forward to returning next year, hopefully!! Even saw a deer in the private back yard!!

Wonderful Stay!

The property was outstanding! Clean, perfect location, equipped with everything needed for our stay. They had everything you can need for a day at the beach, chairs, boogey boards, umbrella, and a wagon to haul everything. We enjoyed the bikes that were available for evening rides. We couldn't have had a better stay and the owners are fantastic to deal with. They really went out their way to make our stay perfect. The home itself was so cozy & clean, plenty if room for 6 adults. I didn't hear any complaining. We got a lot of use out their outside decks especially in the evenings. We cannot wait to visit again.

Home Away From Home

This home was perfect for our family of six. As soon as you walk in, you feel as if you're at home. The owners are extremely kind and ready to answer any questions you may have. I have to say that our favorite thing was the enclosed shower which is located underneath the house. It provides cold as well as hot water. It's sooo very convenient after a long day at the beach. You'll never drag sand into the house if you utilize this awesome feature. Hope to visit again one day.

Nice Location

Pros: 1) Location: one block from the beach, close to grocery store and good restaurants 2) Easy check-in and check-out 3) Plenty of paper products, soap, detergents, towels, dishes, kitchen items, etc. 4) Beach umbrella was large and easy to install/uninstall 5) Outside shower to clean up after the trip to the beach Cons: 1) Mattresses are very uncomfortable. 2) There are no smart TVs, so you cannot do streaming and are stuck with regular TV channels and tons of commercials.

Family-friendly Beach Access

We had a great week at Captain’s quarters. Our family with two preschool age kids greatly appreciated that the house was stocked with more than enough paper products, soaps, towels and bedding, way more than any rental I’ve seen. The walk to the beach was extremely easy with two small kids and the house included everything for the beach we needed (umbrella, wagon, toys, chairs, etc.). There was ample outdoor space and the living space was nice and open. Although it’s a 1.5 bath, the half bath was so large, we could use it for storing toiletries and it felt like a second full bath. The house was very clean (and I’m very picky!) We fell in love with Southern Shores and will definitely be back!

Great location, clean and quaint!

Stayed for a full week with spouse and two kids. The home is nice for a small family. Best features include the cleanliness and location. It really was a short 5 minute walk to the beach that never seemed too busy even during peak vacation season. We liked that it was within bike distance to Duck and to grocery stores and a fun escape room. We rode bikes to avoid the heavy traffic days on Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, it seems in the middle of alot of sight seeing options. Horses 45 minutes north, Pea Island and Roanoke 45 minutes south. Crabbing and fishing at a nearby community marina. The house is like a time capsule from the 1980's, which was actually fun and nostalgic to us young gen x folks. Right down to a Tupperware kool aid container. The entire time we felt like we were staying in a great aunt or nana's beach house. Immaculate and well stocked with everything you needed for a week at the beach. Including bikes, wagon, beach toys and umbrellas. The AC worked well, tv's in all the rooms, plenty of hot water. No complaints, would stay here again.

Nice Surprise

The home was very clean and comfortable with interesting nautical details in the decor. We were nicely surprise that the homeowners supplied many grocery, toiletry item, kitchen utensils, appliances and plenty of linens. As well as ample beach chairs, umbrellas, fishing rods, boogie boards and 3 adult bikes. With the entrance to the beach only one block away. They compiled a quick reference book of OBX attractions/restaurants that was very convenient. But the best feature was the outdoor enclosed "hot" water shower. So convenient for families especially, with small children: shower them before they can track sand into the house. We would definitely rent this property again for our next trip to OBX. Captain's Quarters

Captain's Quarters is a great beach home and our vacation there was wonderful. We were are group of 2 couples and 1 single and there was plenty of room. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and we were provided with everything we needed from paper products to beach items. The house has a quaint, homey feel with cozy furniture and cute nautical décor. The decks outside are great for relaxing with a cup of coffee and the outdoor shower is very handy when coming from the beach. Beach access is 2 short blocks over and shops are a quick drive. The property manager was prompt with info and communication was excellent. My only issue with the stay was the lack of curtains in the bedroom. With just blinds there is a lot of bright light early in the morning and this makes sleeping past sunrise a bit difficult. I'd definitely recommend Captain's Quarters and would stay there again.

Relatively quiet, Easy Access to All

This home is set on a corner lot with trees and shrubs that offer some privacy and muffled the road and neighbor noise. As all are rentals in the area the neighbors change- some considerate some not so much. Parking is convenient with easy loading and unloading on the ground floor. Ground floor has a large extended, covered deck with a great spacious outdoor shower and changing space similar to a campground or public pool. This option definitely is a welcome addition for after beach and fishing trips and as a second shower for the home. Private, plenty of space, with a dry area to leave clothes before going to the beach or fishing. Towel racks and hooks with a bench separated from the large shower stall. A large sink outside of shower and adjacent to laundry room door. No need to drag dirty, sandy clothes into the house - just shower, drop in washer and go. Deck has a hose to spray off chairs and shoes. Plenty of sitting and playing area. Steps go up from front at driveway, steps at back of house with grill on separate deck. Large spacious 2nd floor, main house floor - multiple steps so you will need to carry luggage up. Main deck/porch has a picnic table, swing and chairs - all convenient to kitchen and comfortable. A 3rd level viewing deck with 2 wooden tickets is the best place for morning coffee and late night breezes. The house is spotless clean, smells fresh with plenty of extras. Plenty of linens are available, cleaning products as needed. All beds appear to be firm which was a bit too firm for us - sleeping was limited but this was just due to our comfort preferences. If we return we will bring a mattress topper or egg crate pad. A large spacious living room with and open kitchen for easy flow. Everything needed to prepare meals is available in the kitchen including grill tools. 1 full bath with tub and shower combination a large sink and counter space with plenty of lighting. 1 half bath with small sink next to full bath - both central to all 3 bedrooms. Bedrooms are as described - all with closet space, bring hangers if you want to hang clothes. There is a clothes line down stairs and plenty of towel hooks/poles/rods all over the property. This is a nice, peaceful rental with excellent owners.

Our stay at Captain's Quarters was beyond awesome! The renter was so friendly and accommodating and answered all of our questions promptly. Just a short walk to the beach and a quick drive to a private access beach with lifeguard on duty, the location of Captain's Quarters was perfect.

WE FEEL THAT TO OWN ANYTHING IN THE OUTER BANKS IS SPECIAL. WE'VE BEEN VACATIONING HERE FOR DECADES AND LOVE THE OCEAN IN ALL OF ITS SEASONS. FINDING A CUSTOM BUILT VINTAGE NAUTICAL CABIN IN SOUTHERN SHORES WAS OUR BLESSING AND DREAM COME TRUE. SOUTHERN SHORES IS A TERRIFIC COMMUNITY THAT HAS HAD TIME TO MATURE, OFFERING SOME OF THE VERY NICEST IN SOUND AND SURF AMENITIES.
