Joshua Tree Hot Springs House
Relax in your own private hot springs. Soak year round in one of two natural mineral pools after a long hike. Stargaze while soothing your body in the 102 degree water or cool down in the cold plunge. Take in beautiful 360 views of the mountains, wide-open desert, sweet wildlife, and the most amazing sunrises and sunsets in the country.
Our artfully rehabbed original homestead is located halfway between Joshua Tree and 29 Palms, only 12 minutes from the National Park's “easy” north entrance.
Featured in the New York Times, the Joshua Tree Hot Springs House was the first private hot springs opened to the public in the High Desert. Guests often use the word MAGICAL to describe this property, and we agree! Nothing tops sitting quietly in the bubbling water, under the shade of the eucalyptus, listening to the leaves, while gazing at the expansive desert mountain views or soaking in the hot mineral water under the starry sky.
Escape the long lines at the west entrance and take the easy way through Joshua Tree National Park's via the 29 Palms. It’s a quiet oasis off the beaten path, with easy access to some of the most amazing features on the less traveled side -- the nearby Oasis of Mara, Jumbo Rocks, Cholla Garden, 49 Palms Oasis, or Indian Cove.
Highlights
★8-person hot spring soaking pool. Hot year round…thank you Mother Nature.
★10-person cool mineral spring soaking pool
★Beautiful shaded deck with 4 old-growth Eucalyptus. You’ll never go inside.
★Artfully designed with local artwork
★360 mountain views
★Propane BBQ+fire pit
★Short drive to the 29 Palms “easy” entrance to Joshua Tree National Park
"The pictures do not do this beautiful property justice. It was truly an oasis and escape from this crazy thing called life. The design and uniqueness of this house was just the tip of the iceberg. The property is very private with distant views and no outside noise. Being outside in the sun listening to the air run through the trees and appreciating the amazing view of the far off mountains set a tranquil environment. The pool and hot springs were so relaxing."

Hot springs are a rarity in the Joshua Tree area, with only a few known at private residences. The naturally hot water emerges from the ground clear, clean, and non-smelling, at 160 degrees. A desert-style, homemade system of pumps, valves and thermometers channel the 160-degree water into the small hot-tub-like pool to mix with the cool circulating mineral water, and automatically shuts off when the temperature reaches 102 degrees. The overflow from the hot pool moves to the cool pool, and the water from the cool pool moves throughout the landscape. The porcelain-tiled and cinderblock pools are surrounded by a Douglas fir deck (please wear flip flops as it can be splintery), and are shaded by 4 very large fragrant eucalyptus trees with nesting hammocks.
Soaking in hot mineral water, commonly referred to as Balneotherapy, is known to provide the body valuable nutrients needed to increase blood circulation, eliminate toxins, stimulate metabolism, balance your body’s natural systems, improve PH levels, and relieve pain and stress. Heat plays an important role in allowing skin to absorb the minerals and this water is so rich with magnesium, calcium, sulfate, sodium bicarbonate, etc., that it is difficult to submerge beneath it.
We hope you will be able to unplug and share this extraordinarily
special, healing space with family and friends.
