We had an enjoyable stay with my son and his family. The house was clean and comfortable and communication with Karen was excellent. Check in and checkout was easy. Our grandkids really enjoyed the large open space in the back of the house. Location was very good. For those with small children, there is no highchair or Pakn’play. Also, as guests of the owners, we were surprised by the very high price of the Tahoe Donner amenities.

This house accommodated our multigenerational family get-together perfectly. We had 5 adults and three children. There was plenty of room on the driveway for our three vehicles. It’s in a very pleasant residential neighborhood where we enjoyed taking evening walks. The whole house was in excellent condition and felt comfortable and homey. The children loved the bunk bedroom. There was a nice barbeque on the back deck which we put to good use. The nighttime temperatures dropped low so if you opened the windows up in the cooler times of the day you wouldn’t miss the air conditioning. Nearby Donner Lake was a big attraction for us with the swimming. Being summer it was somewhat crowed and best to start the day early to get parking and a good waterfront location. We went to the east end, but there are also piers on the north side that you can swim from and an additional beach on the west end, a little further drive. There is also a road that goes most of the way around the lake providing access to south side beaches which may be less populated. The road converts to a fire road for a short section so you can’t drive all the way around the lake. We also took the 25 minute drive to Lake Tahoe to see Tahoe City and went on to Kings Beach, a very pleasant outing. We had need to communicate with the hostess, Karen, prior to the trip and she was very responsive and helpful.

The house was beautiful and spacious for our family's needs. There were plenty of beds, bedding, and towels. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, utensils, bowls, plates, coffee maker, etc. The owners allowed us to bring our dogs for a fee, and there were dog toys, bowls, but we had brought our own. There was a nice bbq on the wood patio in the back. The owners were very thoughtful and had dog leads outside so we could keep our dogs close while outside, but please don't use these. During the weekend, we saw a bear in the neighborhood, and a coyote came onto the patio one morning. Great for nature sighting, but our dogs would have been mincemeat. The only reason I didn't give this beautiful house 5 stars is because the smoke detector would go off almost every time we opened the oven, and it was very high on a vaulted ceiling; so fanning away the heat was impossible. We just had to wait it out.

Fun family trip

Had a blast in Tahoe Donner! The Mougle house was great. Clean, comfortable beds, very well stocked kitchen even with tin foil and plastic wrap which most VRBOs don't stock and a mostly flat backyard woods for the young kids to play. They loved the foosball and game closet. Thankyou for a great stay!

Project Healing Waters

Karen & Bob's place was perfect for three disabled veterans and me from Project Healing Waters. They spent two incredible days fly fishing the Little Truckee River. Each day it was great to come 'home' at our VRBO. It meant the world to them!

Review of the Beautiful Tahoe Donner 4 Bedroom, Perfect Family Rental Home near 5 ski resorts!

We had a great stay here with two young families! Kids ages 7-11. There was plenty of sleeping room for both families and all the kids. The bunk room was great for the kids. We enjoyed hanging in the living room next to the wood burning fireplace watching movies. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking meals at the house. Our kids had a blast hanging in the backyard having snowballs fights and building snowmen. Check in process was smooth. The host was great and reached out directly for best point of contact. We would book another stay here in the future.

Good for pets

This is a very pet friendly property and beautiful, quiet neighborhood. The driveway also is flat which would be great in the winter. We had 3 young kids in our group who were super excited about the bunk beds but they had rock hard super cheap mattresses that no one could sleep on so that was a bummer for our group.

Perfect for Young and Old

Our family of eight stayed in this Tahoe Donner home while we attended my nephew‘s wedding, which was held at nearby Lake Mary. It was the perfect accommodation for our family to be able to spread out, have quality time together, and enjoy the beauty of Tahoe. We chose this home specifically because my 90-ish-year-old parents were among our party. It had very few steps at the entrance, with the main bedroom downstairs, and the common areas had mostly wide-open spaces, where my dad could freely speed around with his walker. But his favorite part was sitting out on the back deck amongst the huge, gorgeous trees in the quiet serenity and the amazing clean mountain air. More than anything, owners Karen and Bob were extremely gracious and accommodating and ensured everything was perfect. We would not hesitate to recommend this home and will likely return and visit again soon!

We had a wonderful time at this home. The location was great being lower down on the hill so it’s closer to Truckee and grocery stores etc. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Communication with the owner was great also.

Comfortable home in great location

Communication with the owner was smooth. The house was comfortable and well-maintained. It’s a pet-friendly rental and we did end up with dog hair on our clothes (even though we didn’t bring pets) so I guess vacuuming could have been more thorough. We ended up hand-washing dishes a lot because there weren’t enough bowls or mugs to accommodate our group for more than one meal, but that’s not a big deal- just something we noticed. We also had trouble with the TV’s but that could have been user error. We loved the location in Tahoe Donner and enjoyed playing and snowshoeing in the open space behind the house!

This is our beloved second home that has been meticulously maintained. We bought it because it backs up to a greenbelt and is full of pine trees. Our children grew up spending both summer and winter weekends and vacations here. They now bring their adult friends here to enjoy all that this house and this area has to enjoy. It is a year round community where there is always something to do. We live in Sierra Foothills and come to the Truckee/Tahoe region whenever we can to enjoy the snow, get away from the heat, or want to spend fun and memorable times with friends and family! We are from the East Coast and LOVE that our summer vacations NEVER get get ruined by rain here!

We fell in love with the Tahoe/Truckee area after we moved to California almost 25 years ago. We love Tahoe Donner because it is quieter and less crowded than many of the other areas. The natural beauty of our property brings peace and joy to us every time we come up here. Tahoe Donner so has many amenities that we chose to buy here instead of other areas.

We fell in love with the back deck and the backyard that is full of trees and backs up to a greenbelt. We loved that it was 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, AND a bonus room. Because of the house layout we have been able to host 2 other families and their children at the same time comfortably on many occasions.
