Fantastic location, plenty of space and storage. Nice back porch. But…It was not clean. There was a lot of dust – and a lot of dog hair, despite it being a no-pets property. (See pics.) We first assumed that the previous guests had ignored the rule and brought a dog. But there was so much of it, we wondered if the owner had a dog. Regardless, if either of us were allergic to dogs, it could have been a bad situation. John, the host, did text us later that day that the cleaning people would come the next morning. (As we had already unpacked and our stuff was out, we declined and said we would clean it ourselves.)Also, when we went to use the grill, we found it was dirty and there was a corn cob sitting on it. (See pic.) I texted John about it, including the pic, but it remained that way our entire stay. So we never used it.The house was not well-stocked. When we arrived, there was one paper towel roll and no toilet paper in the powder room, and the liquid hand soap in the powder room was almost empty. We told John and he brought over toilet paper, paper towel and bars of soap. Also, there were only two bowls in the cabinet – enough for us, but larger parties should know that they need to bring some. Finally, “Renovated” in the title is misleading. I'm not sure when it was renovated, but the house needs a serious refresh, especially the bathrooms, which are very outdated, with small, low toilets. The sheets were old, frayed and stained. Towels were plentiful and fine.
