Willkommen in unserem See Zuhause auf Island Lake in Barnes, Wisconsin. Island Lake ist ungefähr 60 Acres und ungefähr 50 Fuß tief. Der See ist groß genug zum Skifahren und Tubing, aber klein genug, um keinen starken Bootsverkehr zu haben. Ein sehr sanfter Spaziergang zum See führt zu einem Null-Eintritt-Strand mit Zuckersand und kristallklarem Wasser.

Die Hütte ist sehr sauber und gemütlich mit allen Annehmlichkeiten von zu Hause. Es verfügt über 3 Ebenen mit einem Queensize-Bett, einem Einzelbett und einem Halbbad im Obergeschoss, einem Queensize-Bett im Erdgeschoss und einem kompletten Badezimmer sowie einem Zimmer im Erdgeschoss mit zwei Einzelbetten, einem Schlafsofa und einem dritten Badezimmer. Es gibt einen zusätzlichen Futon, der in eine Schlafmatratze hineinragt und Platz für eine Luftmatratze bietet. Während die Kabine bequem Platz für 8 Personen bietet, ist sicherlich noch Platz für mehr, vor allem, wenn Kinder und / oder Gäste nichts dagegen haben, in engeren Quartieren zu bleiben.

Die Kabine verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küche, Bettwäsche, Badetücher und Deckenventilatoren. Unsere Gäste werden mit ersten Startpapierprodukten wie Toilettenpapier, Papiertüchern und Kleenex ausgestattet. Die Gäste werden gebeten, ihre eigenen Strandtücher, zusätzliche Papierprodukte und Einwegprodukte (Pappteller, Tassen, Servietten usw.) mitzubringen.

Ein Seedeck mit einem Tisch und Stühlen erwartet Sie für Kaffee, Cocktails oder ein Kartenspiel. Es gibt eine gute Feuerstelle in der Nähe des Sees, ein Paddelboot, ein Kanu und drei Kajaks, die für Sie bereit sind, und wild lebende Tiere. Freizeitaktivitäten sind zwischen 10:00 und 10:00 Uhr erlaubt. m. und 5:00 p. m. damit jeder den See genießen kann.

Ob Sie in der Hütte bleiben oder sich auf den Weg machen, Sie werden jede Menge Aktivitäten finden! Es ist die perfekte Entfernung von Hayward, WI - nur 25 Meilen für Notwendigkeiten, Restaurants und Unterhaltung, aber weit genug entfernt, um die Ruhe einer Hütte in den friedlichen Wäldern von Northern Wisconsin zu genießen. Große ATV-, Schneemobil- und Langlaufloipen sind von zu Hause aus erreichbar.

Perfect getaway!

This was the absolute perfect place for us to bring our 7-person family group together. The property was absolutely beautiful and pristine. The location is perfect, and while we left occasionally to visit nearby family, there were more than enough activities available at the cabin to keep everybody happy and occupied. The communication from the property owner was amazing! Aside from the information listed on the VRBO listing, there was detailed information inside the home so nothing was a mystery. Mike also checked in on us to make sure that there was nothing else we needed, making our stay absolutely perfect. Great fishing, too! An added bonus for our family was that the neighbors have dogs and we got to interact with them outside. We can’t wait to come back!

We had the best time staying at this cabin in Barnes! There is plenty of space to spread out and the place has everything you need! The hosts were amazing at getting back to us and making sure we had everything we needed! Loved our stay and would defintely come back to stay here again!

Relaxation and Family Fun

We enjoyed many campfires by the lake. Wonderful seating areas by the fire pit and beach . It was so nice to have a good selection of family board games and yard games. Such a peaceful location! The kids loved using the kayaks that were supplied! Beautiful clear water and sandy beach area were great for swimming and jumping off dock. Would definitely come back for another relaxing get away! This cabin fit our two families comfortably and had everything we needed!

Bicheno Cottage

The perfect location to explore Bicheno. Loved the outlook over Waub’s Bay Beach and we spent lots of time enjoying drinks and nibbles at the private picnic bench. Really comfortable beds and loads of towels which was really appreciated. The open fireplace was gorgeous. A solid well loved cottage with everything you need. The driveway looks spectacular but the foliage does scrape against the car as you drive in- otherwise an easy and perfect stay.

Super Clean and Cozy place!

Place was very clean, had everything you would need! Owners were very easy to communicate with. Neighbors were super friendly and made our weekend that much better. We loved it so much we are planning to go back in the summer!! The neighbors dogs did come over but they are super sweet and friendly, so don't be alarmed :)

Perfect Northwoods Getaway

Four of us spent a long weekend here for my moms 69th birthday. It was a perfect spot to relax, do a little fishing, and it was a great starting point for adventures to Pattison State Park, Amnicon Falls State Park, and Superior. The owners responded quickly when I had a question before our arrival and the neighbors were friendly and gave great suggestions for things to do or places to eat when we ventured out. We are dog lovers and enjoyed the visits from the neighbors dogs but the neighbors did emphasize that if we were bothered by the dogs to let them know so they could keep them from visiting. As all of my group has dogs it made the experience more homey and enjoyable for us.

Fun and relaxing for all ages

My family stayed here for a few days in early June. We had all ages starting with an infant at 8 months old all the way til grandparents in their 60's. Everyone loved the cabin and lake. The lake was just as beautiful as described and peaceful. The area is very friendly. People walking along the road would always wave to us. The neighbors checked in with us as well and offered all sorts of help. The property manager also reached out and made sure we were all set and said to call or text anytime. The cabin was completely clean and had plenty of room for everyone and more if we wanted. There were kayaks that we took on the lake, they had life jackets for our use and fishing supplies and much more. They provided so many things for us to do and keep everyone entertained. Such an amazing property and great people. We highly recommend this cabin for an amazing and relaxing vacation!! Loved every minute of it!

Excellent property with great owners

Mike and Jenny have an amazing property in a great, quiet location. Mike answered my million questions before our trip with no hesitation and communication before and during our stay was answered quickly. We spent 3 nights at their cabin with our 3 pre-teen and teen boys and found the cabin to be a great size for us all to space out when needed. The paddle boat and kayaks were a huge hit with our kids, as was the fire pit located right next to the lake. For the most part, the cabin came with everything we thought we would need. A few things I would suggest, but didn't make our stay any less enjoyable, would be tongs and a can opener for the kitchen. We searched for both and couldn't find either. We made do with what we could find though and it all worked out great! Mike and Jenny have amazing neighbors on both sides, both whom have dogs that were very nice! The Welhavens(they are the neighbors to the right if you are looking at the lake from the cabin) have three dogs (Tucker, Remy and Sassy) and Tucker would come visit us whenever we were outside. Our 12 year old, who is an animal lover, absolutely enjoyed him! Reid Welhaven came over and introduced himself and and let us know about the dogs shortly after we arrived, and gave us some great ideas of things to do in the area and places to check out, which came in handy! We are already considering booking Mike and Jennys cabin for next summer!

We began hosting via VRBO in 2018 and have enjoyed sharing the northwoods experience with countless visitors since. From 2006 through 2016 we rented via VRBO from the same owners every year and always appreciated their willingness to share their cabin and provide our two young daughters an opportunity they would not otherwise have had. When we decided to purchase a cabin in 2017, sharing the experience (or "giving back") was always part of our plan. We truly enjoy trying to be as communicative and supportive as the host-family we worked with was for us.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

We chose the Barnes area for a number of reasons. The primarily sandy soil results in many pine trees (we love the smell), limits mosquitos, and we found a spring-fed lake with crystal clear water.
We chose the cabin for a variety of reasons as well. It has the older "cabin" feel, faces primarily south (long sun), and has a gentle slope to the water, which we will particularly appreciate as we get older.

Our property is ideal for families with children for the reasons shared. It isn't for everyone, however. The steps in the cabin are rather steep. An addition was added to the cabin that results in steps going to and from the living and kitchen areas.
The location is very ideal as there are numerous restaurants nearby, we are less than 1/2 mile from snowmobile trails, a short distance to places like Hayward, Ashland, and Duluth. Yet, while at the cabin, one feels like they are truly in northwoods.
