Check in was poor. The wrong keys had been left in the key safe. After almost an hour we managed to get the code for the second key safe where the correct keys were. The communication was frustrating as initially we were told that the key was working perfectly when the cleaners left and could we do a video call showing how we were trying to unlock the door! On entering the house it all appeared lovely. Very nicely presented. Unfortunately that’s where it stopped. Two of the bedrooms didn’t have blinds or curtains although on the Vrbo site they were clearly on the photos. No bulbs in any of the bedside lamps, and no lamp in one room. No light shades on ceiling lights, just bulbs, no bathroom mirror. The kitchen: Drawers full of various screws, kitchen fittings and sawdust , not enough forks, had to buy more, toaster hadn’t been cleaned out, loads of crumbs,oven tray left in oven with food debris, oven door dirty.We washed the cutlery and plates etc and wiped down the work tops before use.Downstairs loo and washbasin were clean but the rest of the room was dirty. Even a bit of dirty tissue had been left on a very dusty shelf. The towel rail hadn’t been cleaned forever I think.The outside back yard was something else - a health hazard. Several black bin bags had been left open revealing old food waste spilling out! And as for the tree that was growing out of the wall??? The house simply wasn’t ready to be let out. I’ll not add photos to save any embarrassment to the host
