In the heart of Østfold, embraced by beautiful fields and rural surroundings, you'll find this unique storehouse. If you've always wanted to live in a storehouse, without compromising on modern amenities, this cabin is definitely worth a visit.
From the barrel side, the cottage looks traditional, with small, symmetrical windows, but if you walk to the other side of the cottage, you'll notice that there is a large window on the ground floor and two large windows on the first floor. When you enter the cabin, the view from these windows is a natural eye-catcher and adds a lot of charm to the cabin. Inside, the design choices are anything but traditional, with unique details and thoughtful solutions.
In the area around the cabin, you can pick and choose from many cultural and activity offerings, such as the popular Home Front Museum with around 4,000 objects from World War II. After visiting the museum, you can head to the cozy café Fru Blom, which is unlike any other café you've visited. Fishing enthusiasts can fish in Hølen, just below the cabin, in the hope of catching something good for dinner, and outdoor enthusiasts can visit Linnekleppen, Østfold's highest point.
