Just a few meters away, guests will find a private docking pier, ideal for those wishing to bring their own boat or jet ski and enjoy unforgettable moments on the water. The region is perfect for outdoor activities such as canoeing, boat tours, paddleboarding, fishing, and riverside hiking, offering an authentic experience of tranquility, adventure, and connection with nature.
Quinta Vieira Guedes is a charming retreat located in the picturesque schist village of Midões, on the banks of the Douro River. Midões is part of the Romanesque Route and has been recognized as an “Aldeia de Portugal” by the Portuguese Village Tourism Association. The village is crossed by the “Living the Douro” walking route, featuring wooden walkways and three scenic viewpoints inspired by the traditional rabelo boats, allowing guests to admire the stunning landscapes of Serra da Boneca. The village also offers a free docking pier for boats.
With easy access and generous parking at the entrance, guests are welcomed through an iron gate and have access to a covered garage with space for two vehicles.
The main entrance is accessed through a wooden gate leading into an interior garden courtyard, which connects to two separate entrances: one leading to the bedroom area and the other to the kitchen and living spaces.
The rustic kitchen preserves the authenticity of the 19th century and is fully equipped with a gas stove and a traditional wood-fired oven, perfect for memorable culinary experiences.
On the same floor, guests will find a cozy dining room and a bright living room with direct access to the main terrace, offering breathtaking views over the orchard and the Douro River, as well as a guest bathroom.
The property also features two spacious outdoor terraces, ideal for al fresco gatherings or relaxing moments in the hammock reading area. Stone stairways lead to different corners of the estate, including the barbecue area, a natural spring-fed water tank, and direct access to the vegetable garden and orchard.
A beautifully designed private dining room stands out as the perfect setting for celebrations or intimate dinners. On the same floor, guests will also find a comfortable master suite, ensuring privacy and convenience.
The upper floor hosts three additional bedrooms, all decorated with simplicity and charm, served by two bathrooms, one of them featuring a bathtub — ideal for family stays or groups of friends.
Throughout the estate, the philosophy is eco-friendly and eco-retreat oriented, where every space invites contemplation, connection, and reconnection with nature.
Guests have full and exclusive access to the entire Quinta Vieira Guedes property, including the main house, terraces, courtyards, barbecue area, spring-water tank, gardens, orchard, and all outdoor spaces. For safety reasons, lighting fires outdoors is strictly prohibited.
The estate is an invitation to tranquility, freedom, and immersion in nature.
The house features 4 double bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests.
We can also host up to 3 additional guests in extra single beds (90x200 cm) for an additional fee.
Guests may request a homemade full breakfast at the estate with prior notice, although fresh bread will always be available daily.
