Wood-burning stove, fire pit and London in 90 minutes

Springers Cottage is a charming 250 yr old part cobb cottage which has been extended and modernised to create a wonderful living space combining old world charm with modern space and utilities.

The white-rendered, two-storey cottage with its covered timber entrance porch and established garden planting sleeps up to eight guests across four individually styled bedrooms, each with its own distinct character. Guests enjoy a rare combination of genuine village charm, thoughtfully designed interiors, and an outdoor entertaining space that makes this cottage equally appealing across every season. The open forest begins at the edge of the village, great independent pubs, cafés, and restaurants are within easy strolling distance, and Brockenhurst station — with direct services to London Waterloo in around ninety minutes — is just five minutes on foot.

What sets Springers Cottage apart is the way it balances warmth, character, and practicality throughout. The inglenook brick fireplace with its lit wood-burning stove forms a genuinely inviting centrepiece in the living room, while the outdoor fire pit, BBQ grill, and alfresco dining area provide everything needed to gather together long into the evening. Free on-site parking for two vehicles, bed linen included, and a fully equipped kitchen with a black range cooker and central island mean everything is in place from the moment you arrive. This is a home that has clearly been cared for and curated — and guests feel that from the first step through the door.

A Home to Relax and Unwind

The living room at Springers Cottage is the undisputed heart of the property — and the inglenook brick fireplace with its wood-burning stove is the reason why. Whether you picture yourselves gathered around it with a glass of wine on a cool autumn evening or stretched out across the teal and grey sofas on a lazy afternoon, this space has the kind of easy, comfortable warmth that feels both lived-in and special. The TV sits above the mantlepiece, and the room provides ample seating for the whole group to come together without feeling crowded.

The outdoor space extends that same relaxed, sociable spirit into the fresh air. The fire pit, BBQ grill with barbecue utensils, and outdoor dining area create a setup that works beautifully for summer evenings and cooler nights alike. Whether guests are hosting an alfresco dinner, gathering around the fire after a day in the forest, or simply enjoying a morning coffee outside, this space is a genuine highlight of the cottage. Board games are available for evenings in, and the kitchen is fully stocked to support everything from a quick breakfast to a celebratory group meal.

The Layout
Springers Cottage is arranged across two floors and offers a spacious, well-thought-out layout for groups of up to eight.

Living room
The sitting room is centred around the striking inglenook brick hearth housing the wood-burning stove, with the television positioned above the mantlepiece. Comfortable seating is provided across teal and grey sofas with a matching footstool, making this an ideal space for the whole group to relax together. Two windows overlook the garden and bring in natural light.

Kitchen and dining
The kitchen is a real feature of the property — fitted with pale blue shaker-style units, a black range cooker with extractor hood, wooden worktops, a white metro tile splashback, and stone-tiled flooring. A central kitchen island with a wooden worktop and green metal bar stools provides a casual spot for breakfast or drinks. The dining area sits adjacent to the kitchen and features a large solid wooden table with bench seating — a brilliant setup for shared meals. A microwave, refrigerator, freezer, oven, stove, hot water kettle, and full cooking equipment are all provided, along with dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and a drying rack.

Bedroom 1 — principal bedroom
The principal bedroom is a generously proportioned and beautifully styled room, featuring a wooden sleigh bed dressed in blue bedding with a tartan throw, a distinctive tree-pattern wallpapered feature wall, wide wooden floorboards, and built-in wardrobes spanning the far wall. An armchair, bookshelf, and jute-style rug complete the room, giving it the feel of a well-considered retreat. Room-darkening shades are fitted.

Bedroom 2 — double bedroom
A double bedroom with sage-green painted walls, exposed timber ceiling beams, an orange pendant lamp, wooden bedside table, and a built-in wardrobe.

Bedroom 3 — flexible single or double
A room with green painted walls, an ornamental brick fireplace surround, wooden flooring, and grey-green bedding. The single bed in this room pulls out to a double, making it flexible for couples or solo travellers.

Bedroom 4 — twin bedroom
A bright, blue-painted room featuring two single beds, a chest of drawers, framed artwork, and a blind at the window. Well-suited for children or friends sharing.

Bathrooms
The cottage has 2.5 bathrooms in total, comprising two full bathrooms and one additional WC or shower room. One bathroom features a striking copper roll-top freestanding bath set beneath a slanted ceiling, patterned star-motif floor tiles, and a dark wood vanity unit with basin. A second bathroom is finished with bright blue wall tiling, a freestanding bath with a wood-panelled surround, a separate glass-screened shower enclosure, and dark wood flooring. A third bathroom is decorated in blush-pink tones with a freestanding roll-top bath with telephone-style taps, a high-cistern toilet, dark wood vanity unit, and patterned floor tiles.

Guests have access to the entire property for the duration of their stay. Entry is via a lockbox. Free parking for two vehicles is available on the driveway.

Location
Springers Cottage sits on Brookley Road — Brockenhurst`s main village street and one of the most characterful addresses in the New Forest. The road is well known for its independent shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants, all of which are within an easy stroll from the front door. One of Brockenhurst`s most distinctive and much-loved charms is the presence of free-roaming New Forest ponies and donkeys, which frequently wander through the village itself — a genuine delight for first-time visitors and a reminder that this really is a special place to stay.

At the western end of Brookley Road lies the Watersplash — a picturesque ford where the North and South Weirs meet, a much-loved local landmark and a lovely short walk from the cottage. The open forest is immediately accessible from the village, making it ideal for walking, cycling, and wildlife watching from the moment you step outside.

For those wanting to explore further afield, the Georgian market town of Lymington — with its cobbled streets, quayside, sailing scene, and coastal marshes — is approximately fifteen minutes away by car, or reachable by a short branch-line train from Brockenhurst station. Lyndhurst, the main visitor hub of the New Forest, is approximately five minutes by car to the north. The Rhinefield Ornamental Drive and its Tall Trees Trail, famous for some of the tallest Douglas firs in Britain, is a short drive to the northwest. The historic Beaulieu motor museum and abbey is within easy reach to the east. Bournemouth is approximately thirty-seven minutes away by car.
