Full of character, this sympathetically updated cottage lies in an ideal spot for walkers, hikers, cyclists and nature lovers keen to explore the magnificent northern fringe of the spellbinding Brecon Beacons National Park. Offering cosy accommodation for families, couples and friends, the property retains a wealth of original features including exposed stone walls, dark timber beams and a welcoming wood burner. With plenty of space for six guests, this sympathetically updated getaway has been tastefully furnished and decorated in delicate pastel shades to make a fantastic base for discovering the region’s quaint villages, historic sites and unforgettable countryside.
You will be greeted by the beautiful farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with a welcoming central dining table, ample equipment and plenty of storage space. The handsomely arranged lounge has exposed ceiling beams, comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a roaring wood burner set in an impressive inglenook. There’s also a sweet snug with another Smart TV and an ornamental fireplace. The ground floor also has a stylish main bathroom. Upstairs, you will find a refreshing shower room and three cosy bedrooms: an elegant king-size room, a cheerful twin and a lovely bunk bedroom. Outside, the generous garden is surrounded by a low stone wall and features a lovely lawn and a patio providing an ideal spot for a BBQ in the summer sun. A stream runs past the garden – please keep children supervised. Private parking is available for three cars.
The cottage lies in the quiet hamlet of Pentre-Bach, midway between Llandovery (13.5 miles) and Brecon (12 miles). The Brecon Beacons National Park (2 miles) offers miles of superb walking trails. The friendly market town of Brecon is home to the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and is ideal for tranquil strolls along the River Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.
